"I ordered an open box Inwin case at less than half the price of the next cheapest price online. Even with shipping it was an excellent bargain. It came with a power supply that I didn't want, but the price was still great.
I got the case quickly, and it was in like-new condition with all of the parts and extras still in their original bags. Someone may have opened the box, but I'm not sure it was ever taken out of the box given the condition it was in.
And, the power supply is a decent 460W supply. I still can't use it because of the connectors, but I can sell it on ebay.
In any case, I got much more than I expected, there were no hassles, and I received the case quickly. I will definitely include them on my list of sites to check when buying anything."
"Horrible retailer. Item was both labelled (and described) as an Athlon XP 266 DDR motherboard when it was really an Intel P4 motherboard. They issued me an RMA but refused to pay for shipping, so I ended up wasting $14 for shipping ($7 each way). Their site has NOT been updated in ages. Most Athlon XP boards with DDR support have been sold out.
Stay away from this retailer at all costs, unless you feel like wasting some hard earned cash!"
"I ordered some of the cheap refurb gforce2 and cd-rom/floppy combos. They came exactly as advertised and you can't beat the price! You pay a little hefty for the shipping but it comes very secure, usually in multiple boxes which is rare for refurbs. My second of two positive transactions with dumpinggoods."
"This was my second order from Dumping Goods.
My first order was sometime in late 2003. I bought 2 Abit motherboards for $20 each. They arrived as I expected, without any accessories at all, just the mobo in an anti-static plastic inside an Abit mobo box.
Before I placed that order I made sure I could get the I/O shield from somewhere. I found they were available at excaliberpc.com for $5 each plus $5 S&H. I believe the board was listed as refurbished.
As long as you assume all refurbished items from Dumping Goods do not ship with any accessories, you should have no problems (with the exception of the occassional error).
This order I placed was for:
Skyhawk computer case (new) $13
5 orange UV reactive Antec case fans (new) $1.99 each
black 48X CD-ROM and 3.5" floppy drive (refurbished) $11.99
Legal size scanner (reconditioned)
Cooler Master thermal compound (new) $2.99
Pinnacle Instant DVD & CD Creator 7 (new)
Altec Lansing headphones w/ mic and volume control (new) $1.99
3' serial cable (new) $0.00
2 pen-keyboards with digitizing tablet (new) $0.00
I bought the case for my cousin, but when I saw it I had second thoughts. It looked so much better than the picture. I was satified with what I got, but there were 2 unexpected developments. The serial cable was actually a parallel cable, which is even better. I just got the serial cable because it was free but I could actually use a parallel cable. The keyboard wasn't PS/2, it was the older bigger connection. I can't complain about the free stuff though.
I ordered Saturday, May 22, 2004. The order shipped Tuesday, May 25, 2004. It arrived Saturday, May 29, 2004 via FedEx Ground Home Delivery in 4 boxes of 18.x, 10.x, 10.x and 5.x pounds at a shipping cost of $32.85."
"Absolutely fantabulous website. A motherboard and a CD player. Both in simply great condition. The motherboard came with origal drivers and a full set of cables. Everything immaculately packed. I'm using the mobo right now--it runs perfect! It cost me only $17; similar motherboards sell for $60 on EBAY! Will absopositivalutely purchase from them again.
ALL HAIL DUMPING GOODS. "
"Noticed the great price ($59) on a 9500 non-pro oem 128mb built by ATI and because of previous mixed ratings here and wrong parts being shipped and out of stock, i proceeded to call their toll-free direct line and i was promptly assisted by a customer agent. she confirmed that they had one left and i quickly made the transaction after feeling a bit more assured by talking to a live agent. the product was shipped same day fed-ex overnight and arrived promptly the next day in a white box with a bundled software package as well as the cables and bubble wrap, etc. it basically looked brand spankin new for all intents and purposes and even better, it was a 9500 non-pro 128mb with the L shaped memory modules that i've soft-modded and overclocked to essentially a 9700 non-pro!!! fabulous price, great service, and a pristine product! what else could a satisfied consumer ask for? will patronize again!"
"I ordered a Server case (SV5U-R-BP w/ loose front panel) for a great price, and it was shipped quickly. I am one satisfied customer. Thanks!"

"Shipped on time, ordered sunday and recieved with 2-day shipping on wednesday. But the "refurbished" motherboard that I bought had no cables or the back shield which is custom to the motherboard. I figured it would be that way since some other review also said that they didnt recieve one either. Price did reflect that since it was $40 cheaper than any other price around. I don't mind this missing so I'd probably buy from them again."
"Great prices, like new equipment, and it was so well packed they could have dropped it from an airplane as it passed over my house at 30,000 feet and it would have survived. I will definitely be shopping here again."
"WARNING: This company's definition of refurbished is not what you expect.
I purchased two new EPOX EP-8KMM3I motherboards, and two "refurbished" EPOX EP-8RGA+ motherboards. The new boards were factory sealed and fine. The so called refurbished boards were electrically OK, but packaged like used equipment. One had all the accessories stuffed into ripped plastic bags and thrown on top of the motherboard, instead of packed below the board as the manufacturer intended. The other board WAS MISSING ALL ACCESSORIES including critical items like the ATX I/O shield, which is unique to the board and can't be purchased on the after market.
[Update 11/26/2006: Both "refurbished" EPOX EP-8RGA+ motherboards turned out to be defective. One died after a few months of usage. The other had a capacitor explode the first time it was powered up. Examining the board showed that a capacitor with the wrong voltage rating was used. It was clear the board had never been tested, and I highly suspect that the boards were never actually refurbished.]
I informed DumpingGoods.com that these boards didn't meet my definition of refurbished (which should be with all accessories and 100% like new, except for possibly cosmetic defects) and requested that they supply the missing accessories. They didn't respond to my email. I called and there was no answer. I waited until after the Christmas holidays and tried again. They responded to my email that what I received was to be expected for refurbished goods, and that I should contact the manufacturer. I disagreed with that, but preferred to keep the boards rather than return them, so I tried contacting the manufacturer. (Initially EPOX didn't respond either, but that's another matter.)
I called DumpingGoods.com again, and this time reached someone who was polite and helpful. She offered to refund the purchase, but said they couldn't supply the missing parts - despite that their web site said they still had a bunch of these boards in stock - and again suggested I contact the manufacturer.
I tried the manufacturer again and was successful in getting the most critical missing parts, but what troubles me is that DumpingGoods.com found the poorly inspected and packaged merchandise to be acceptable. When I described the situation to EPOX, they insured me that they would never have shipped a refurbished product in that condition, which suggests that DumpingGoods.com is obtaining products from a 3rd party refurbisher, and not the manufacturer.
If DumpingGoods.com updated their web site language to say that products like this are used, incomplete, and "as-is," then I'd buy from them again (and avoid products labeled as such), but they don't seem to have any intention in doing that, so I wouldn't risk buying from them again."
"Great service. This is my second order with them. They are prompt and always deliver as promised. I've had to return a faulty product on my first order and the whole process was very smooth."
"Got product fast and working conditon love the prices"
"I purchased an Abit NF7-S with all acessories for only $30.. price was unbelievable. Packaged very well, received everything. Everything worked right out of the box. Although they did not send tracking information, shipping was very fast. Took one day to deliver to northern california. Only part I don't like is I couldnt find my invoice number on their account page. Other than that, I Will definitely buy from them again."
