"Repurposed wood sounds good but... Unevenly cut chair legs gouge floors even w pads, chais rock, table top scratches easily and a chair back broke. Crafters don’t care about their poor quality and seem interested only in finding new buyers. You won’t get what you paid for. "
"I received my Lazy Susan very quickly from when I ordered it. It is very well made and matches my kitchen table perfectly. So hard to choose a finish from a picture. "
"Spoke w/ Stacey told her I wanted the Amish Wagon for my front yard looked at the very deceiving picture and ordered it. Honestly I think she had never even seen these products. And I have been so busy I went by the picture only. Waited months received the wagon and was shocked it’s like a toy not big enough for my front yard. We contacted Stacy she would do nothing. Paid my bill when a gentleman called and told him I was unhappy he said he would pass it along. I received a call from another woman who offered a 10% discount which everyone else gets so it would be $1,000 to get the bigger one after spending $900 for this one. I went on the website they had changed the picture very quickly. They want you to see a picture if a larger wagon to think that is what you are getting. I’m glad I copied the picture before it was replaced. So they did nothing to help me and their 10% off was insulting. This company doesn’t have good business practices. I will be contacting the BBB and the AG if I don’t hear anything. "
"I received my poplar wood gun cabinet this morning. I’m so impressed with the quality of this gun cabinet. The finish is perfect rich tobacco that matches a grandfather clock next to it. I am seriously considering buying another identical cabinet with the clock in the middle of the two. DutchCrafters was great keeping me informed throughout the process and offering me options I might like. The delivery driver was Eli was great also giving me a heads up when he would arrive. So glad I bought this, it will last much longer than me."
"Absolutely love my new poly outdoor furniture! The quality is fantastic and I can tell it will last me many seasons. The furniture specialist was very helpful and answered all my questions. Great company to order furniture from!"
"This is not the 1st time I have purchased furniture from Dutchcrafters. The 1st experience was a solid 5 stars, no problems, very satisfied. 2nd time around I order a Mission Style Rocker, and (2) custom, matching, cushions, all paid for months in advance of delivery. Chair arrives but no cushions, they were not ready to be shipped I was told, disappointed to say the least. The chair is beautiful generally, what I expected, but you could tell by looking at the chair joints that care had not been taken and the chair wood pieces had been chipped, by having tongue and grove wood pieces forced into place, and not replace or sanded down, making for a less that heirloom craftsmanship look. Waited too long to get it or I would have refused delivery and we will live with it but disappointed. Probably won't use them again. Too bad really, because I'm willing to pay for quality. My calls to customer service have been pleasant, with real nice people willing to help. I'm sure they would have been ready to redo the chair but I can not wait another 3 months for replacement. Will see how long it takes for Dutchcrafters to send the missing cushions."
"From start to finish the experience was magnificent! I purchased a kitchen nook. They sales lady was great at helping select the furniture color to fit perfectly in our log home. Delivery company was super accommodating because I’m not always at the location of delivery. Highly recommend!!!! A+"
"I have purchased three pieces of furniture from Dutchcrafters, and have been very happy with all of them. I have had my roll top desk for 5 years and it still looks new despite the abuse it takes. Now I have a buffet with a hutch and a dresser for my son’s room. They are solid and have beautiful finishes that don’t show finger prints."
"Yellow streaks and marks began showing in the paint of the piece I ordered, and they are only getting worse.
I ordered what I consider an expensive piece, a secretary/bookcase combo. I read the information carefully. I kept reading about "heirloom quality" and "customer satisfaction", and that is why, after three months of debating, I ordered the piece.
It was delivered with a problem, the shelves were stuck together and they had to be pulled apart; I let the delivery man do that in case it was going to cause damage. It left minor damage (about 6-10 small spots where the paint was lifted off), but I still accepted the piece . It was very lovely, AT FIRST. I chose a country white, which was one of their options (obviously). Now, I have yellow streaking and staining throughout the piece. Yellow coming through the white. It is ugly.
Jennifer Ferdico, Customer Service Specialist, returned my email regarding my concerns.
"The yellowing areas you see are the resin in the pine bleeding through the paint. This is a natural trait of pine wood, especially when finished in a light paint. This is not considered a defect, rather a characteristic of pine wood furniture. If you were to paint over it, it is likely to bleed through again. This is stated on the product page under the tab labeled "Pine Wood Furniture".
I could not find this "tab" which was to explain this, so I had others look for it, and they could not find it on the item's product page, either. Had I read any of this, I certainly wouldn't have chosen a finish where this would happen, but honestly, why are lighter colors even offered if this is "a characteristic of pine wood furniture. If you were to paint over it, it is likely to bleed through again."
I would not have made this purchase, especially considering what I paid for it, had I known this would happen. I have been recently told that preparing and priming a piece correctly will prevent problems like these. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED."
"I am so disappointed. I guess 5.5 years isn't terrible, but for the price and hype, I thought the chair would last for at least ten years and maybe twenty. I feel stupid but I thought I was buying heirloom grade furniture rather than Ikea-grade.
So what happened was, when I leaned back today, the base of the chair where the caster was attached collapsed. It had cracked and the caster had broken off. There was also other hardware damage. The seat and back are okay, but one leg of the base is completely broken and the base isn't usable anymore.
We did use it daily, but nobody heavier than 235 pounds ever sat in it. We never abused it/treated it like a toy or whatever.
I'm sorry to leave this review on Christmas day. I wish everyone well...just don't expect this chair or the bases they use to last forever. And maybe have a backup base somewhere so you can not miss a week of work when the chair conks out on you. :)"
"I received the item today, and it would be an understatement to say I am pleased with the final product. It is outstanding, exceeding all my expectations. It’s a gorgeous piece of furniture. The entire process was amazing, and everyone was wonderful to work with. It's solid wood, beautiful to admire and extremely sturdy. Great customer service the entire time, with nearly weekly updates from Heather. The delivery went without a hitch, and exactly as promised. This item was totally worth the wait and price. I NEVER write reviews, so this must be special for me to say something. You will not be disappointed, I promise."
"It took about 3 months for our order to be made, and another month to schedule/receive delivery. I agree with others, it's worth the wait. Don't be frustrated by the lack of consumer "must have it now" - there is reward in the wait. These are not mass-made; they are beautiful wood, beautiful finishing, really fine quality! We ordered the Kenton Modern bed, dresser, and open nightstand. The finish is fairly dark but it's in a light room; if you have a darker room definitely go with a lighter finish. It's wonderful that is all configurable. Do be aware that "curbside delivery" means just that - drop off with lifting to the bedrooms and a little assembly (the bed) required. Happy to support an American company that does such stunning work! Thank you!"
"After a lot of research, we decided on these chairs for our kitchen in oak. We waited 5 months for 6 chairs and WOW! they are stunning! They are truly heirloom quality and so happy that we picked these chairs. They are truly comfortable and just love that they were made with no glue or nails! Amazing! I’m so happy with them! If you’re considering them, you won’t be disappointed! The wait is worth it, especially when these may likely outlast us! "
"I am a long time customer of Dutch Crafters, have ordered a great deal of indoor furniture with which I am extremely happy. It was delivered either fully assembled or with just a small bit of assembly that the deliver folks would do, e.g. for the beds. I was thus quite excited when they started the new outdoor line. I ordered the LuxCraft table and chairs. The description indicated “some assembly required,” but that means to me SOME assembly, I.e., maybe having to put the table top onto the pedestal. NOT having to put the entire table together with over a hundred screws and extremely difficult placement of the elements, I.e., if you don’t get everything just right, the table is skewed. The assembly needs a specialized screwdriver that I suspect very few people own. Not a job for amateurs at all. Not only that, the shipment arrived in a huge crate on a pallet that was extremely difficult to place and unpack, and now I have a gigantic wooden pallet and crate in my tiny little townhouse yard that I must deal with. Where in the on line descriptions does it say that this is how this product arrives? Nowhere. I am so disappointed and annoyed . I never would have expected this from my past dealings with Dutch Crafters. The furniture itself is high quality, as usual. Thank goodness the chairs came fully assembled. I am still working on the table, have been for hours. What on earth are you guys thinking to deliver a product in this condition? I cannot believe I am dealing with the same company. I would likely not have bought this set had I known what was involved. At the very least, you need to be honest. Better yet, you may want to rethink how you deliver these pieces. Thank you for listening to a formerly very satisfied and now completely annoyed customer. "
"I ordered the pine hoosier cabinet, which was a big purchase for me. Before placing my order, I had numerous questions and the service representative was very helpful. To my delight, the cabinet arrived much sooner than I expected (5 weeks). It came in perfect condition and I absolutely love it. I will definitely use this company again if I ever decide to splurge like this in the future! PS: You can totally stain and paint the furniture yourself, which will save you a TON of money. I did and my cabinet looks amazing!"
