I call multiple times but each time after 1 hr of waiting their phone just dropped. This company is unbelievable. How do they survive at this day and age with this type of service

"WEBSITE IS CLUNKY, CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS SLOW, SYSTEM IS MESSED UP, tried to get a Xbox Series X with Xbox all access with them, got approved and then at the final step they were like you are not approved, like why’d u say it before? Then I said yk what I’ll buy it cash, they had a free Xbox 3 month game pass subscription with Xbox Series X, and a day later they canceled it, now I wanna reach customer support weather they charged my account or not, and they aren’t replying. "I have been waiting to 2 months for action figures. Can’t call call no one takes calls and then hangs up. Sent email, they say they get thousands so no response. Today was on live chat 2hr. Started 64 in que got down to 12 disconnected my chat. Would give “0” review if it was possible "
"They cancel my ps5 order without reason. Spent 4 hours is line for costumer service to have the person tell me a manager will find me a console and call me back. Waited 2 weeks and nothing. Spent another 4 hours in customer service queue they told me saty close to your phone we will call you tomorrow. They never called and restock console the week after. Conclusion I got lied to 3 times, they gave my console to someone else and never event got the balls to be honest about it. No wonder this company is going under."

The EB Games store in our city closed and the nearest one is a 45 minute drive one way from me. An individual in that store suggested I pre-order future games online as the delivery was within a couple of days after release date so I pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War over a month before the release date.
Canada Post says the game wasn't sent to them until more than a week after the release date and the expected delivery date now is November 26th., over two weeks after release date, if it arrives then.
All I got from EB Games was a long run around with them not accepting responsibility and constantly lying about when the game was shipped so I would highly recommend anyone considering shopping at EB Games for any products they handle to find alternate ways of getting their items.
I realize COVID-19 has slowed things down but after dealing with EB Games over this issue I personally find they're not a reputable honest company and they absolutely will not get anymore of my business. The best that can come of these complaints from people is that they either improve their service and business practices or go out of business and make way for someone more reputable."
"I don't understand how they stay in business. Disorganized, poor customer service, bad policies, don't or won't honour their guarantees and no refunds. who wants an in store credit with a pathetic company you don't want to deal with anymore? They just don't care if they already have your money! Don't pre-order anything from this company better yet by what you want from anyone else you'll be much happier and much more satisfied. I would rather give up gaming than deal with them one more time and there is alot of other stores out there. I actually feel bad for the employees whom have to deal with the fallout.

"They claimed that my game would be sent to me from a local store by courier when it was released. Ended up needing to wait a week and half to get my game because they actually shipped it from a warehouse across the country while not giving me tracking information for a week. I ultimately ended up needing to go pick up the game anyways because they picked an awful shipping service (purolator) that just left a "missed you, pick up your package from a post office after this date" notice without knocking or ringing my doorbell.
I'm looking forwards to seeing them go out of business now, especially after they declared themselves an essential service during the COVID-19 pandemic "
"Not the biggest fan of online shopping, prefer the brick and mortar store, I headed in EB Games in Kingston ON and purchased a 300.00 Scuff controller within 2 days the controller paddle broke in two. I call the store and the employee says No Problem gets right back to you. Two weeks later after I call again some calls me the next day and says I'll get this done, Next day employee 3 calls and starts waffling around about returns and if it's broke not their problem. Frustrated hung up filed a complaint which took the regional manager 3 days to respond and after a long awkward conversation he's Ok with it seeing I'd called the manufacturer and gotten replacements. So why would anyone go into EB Games for that kind of service when everything they sell comes faster, and is repaired/replaced just as fast?

This happened at the Markville Mall but I think it could happen at any of their locations.
I headed into the mall to buy my 7 year old son a Nintendo Switch (early Dec), it was the main item on his list to Santa. I know nothing about Switches and it seems my ignorance made me an easy target!! The very friendly and charming MIKE ( Michael on the sales receipt) was right there to help...he tells me not to worry about the sold out Mario Kart bundle because it is last year’s model being sold off with a game. The new model is better, has a better battery life etc. So I bought the new model. Left feeling happy... get it home wrap it and think nothing of it.
Christmas morning my son opens his gift- my husband is there ( he knows about gaming devices) He started to set it up and said it looks like it has been opened and used. He googled the serial numbers of the new models vs the old —seems I took home a refurbished and older model ( the one Mike was advising me to avoid) for the new model price, expecting the best machine.
At 10am on boxing Day ( after making up excuses to get my son’s gift away from him)- my husband is in the Pickering ebgames to get some answers- the manager did not seem shocked, only wanted to quickly shut my husband up because other customers in the crowed boxing day store could hear our situation!!!
He exchanged the used device for a brand new one.The new model had vastly different set up, a charged device and a clear youtube account)- the old model needed to be charged, would not come on right away and the youtube was linked to an existing account!!!!! WOW....so shady and super super frustrating! We spent Christmas day angry and very disappointed that a company would do this or an employee would feel the need to do this!!!
We are glad we got a new device with ease from the Pickering location and did not have to drive into Markham but this really put such a bad taste in our mouths!!!
If I wanted a used model- I would have bought one from someone on kijiji or let it go! I have had more honest experiences with the general public!! You don’t think something like this would happen with a BIG company but it just did! Shame on you eb games!!!

So last night my wife and I went to Pitt Meadows store at 6pm sat November 30th and the door was locked. A staff member came to the door and slide security gate down with a nasty look on his face while the other 2 staff members laughed. It was very rude considering they weren’t supposed to be closed yet. Sign said 9pm. We spend 2-300 $ every time we go and will be changing store location because of this. Terrible experience and was very offered for. On the website it says 10-6pm but on door of store it says 9pm. Would’ve been nice to not be laughed at and maybe have a that guy say, sorry we’re closed.

"I went to eb games in northbay ontario to buy my husband the latest xbox. He's a huge gamer (has a ps4 as well) and in chemo treatments for stage 4 cancer, so gaming is pretty much all he can do. I bougjt him a refurbished xbox (limited budget due to now being 1 income family) brought it home with 2 remotes and new games...he was cheered with the surprise just to find out they removed the batteries from tje remotes (didn't tell me) and the xbox doesn't work. BTW we live a 3 hr drive from tje nearest eb games. When I called tue next day I was told, even.promised a refund. I specifically stated what the product was (refurbished xbox and remotes) and that I lived far away. Again I was promised a refund. Get here to a salesman who was yelling at my husband and EXTREMELY rude and arrogant! Why would we want anything from this store! Called the 1 877 # but have to wait to hear from the district manager, this ****!"
"When you order NEW games online through this store what you get is games that are opened, dirty, covered in stickers and a little damaged and that is if you are lucky. Games I ordered arrived with smashed cases because they are too cheap to use decent packaging when shipping.
When shopping in store it is just a terrible experience. Recently bought a Switch there and staff bought a screen protector with them to the counter and told me I should by it. Then was told they also have cases on sale. Then when I told them I wasn't a member they started signing me up without even asking if I wanted to. This type of thing always happens. Combine that with messy stores, more gaming loot than actual games and most of the time out priced by competitors and there is almost never a reason to shop here.
It is kind of my fault though. I knew what they were like and decided to go back because they had a decent sale on. We all need to stop shopping here and let this terrible business die."
"I bought several NBA virtual currency packages (DIGITAL FORMAT) online and waited more than half a day just for the digital tokens to get sent to me. The second and third time I purchased them, my order was even magically cancelled for some reason and they took FOREVER to refund my money to me. I DO NOT recommend purchasing anything from this website ever, if you know what's good for you and would rather go where your money is worth, then you will stay away from this website.
I will NEVER recommend this to anyone or ever use it in the future again. I bought something online yesterday and it's currently 3AM, I have still not received my digital token. it's been almost 15 hours since I purchased it and I have gotten zero replies on this.

"Ordered my game on the 23rd, still not here on the 8th of the next month.
Sent an email to no response, so I called. Apparently the game was on backorder, even though the website gave no indication of this.
Even better, when the customer service rep checked the warehouses inventory, they had some in stock and, for whatever reason, just decided to not send me my copy... Now they are sending me it, and it should be here within 5 days.
If I had've known I was going to be waiting this long, I would have just drove 40 minutes to my nearest game store to buy it instead. This is pretty unacceptable.
The associate I spoke with on the phone, however, was very nice. No complaints about him."
