"I found ECS a year or two ago and started using them regularly. I own two 3 series BMW's so I was used to going to Turner Motorsports or Bavarian Auto but thought I'd give ECS a try. Until this last order they seemed to be fine with good prices and quick shipping. I ordered $187.00 worth of gaskets and seals for my E36. The MTC valve cover gasket was complete garbage. The engine was out of the car so I could see the rear of the head where the two semi circle sections of the gasket are supposed to fit into and seal the head and valve cover. Once everything was fitted I could see gaps at opposing sides of each of the semi-circle sections of the seal which to me meant that the gasket was not sized correctly for the head. I double-checked the part # and that I was sent the part # on the site and I did have the correct # as listed. But when I called customer service and explained it the woman on the phone had a serious attitude problem. I asked her if MTC would be available so I could explain to them the problem with the gasket so they could correct it to avoid having others install an ill-fitting gasket. "well, they're in China so I don't think you can do that." "Is the part bad or not, that's all I need to know." I was refunded and did not have to return the junk gasket, so in the end the problem was solved. But my issue is this: When a regular, loyal customer calls with a problem, should the customer get attitude from a rep that is having a **** day? No, they should not. ECS should do the 'this call will be monitored for quality assurance' program to weed out customer service reps that have an attitude problem. I own a business and talk to customers so this experience will help remind me that how I sound on the phone while helping solve a problem or just answer a question makes a huge difference in whether that customer will be back or not. ECS should also try to offer quality products; if they are to continue offering different levels of quality at least make sure they all work."

"Ecs has generally been great. Some of the best prices and a great, well-organized and informative website.
However, in the interest of constructive feedback to help ECS retain/obtain market share:
-Many smaller items other retailers offer in singles, must be purchased in bulk packages from ECS, leading to no purchase at all.
-The inventory system/acquisition process needs improvement. It has happened several times where an item will "ship in two days" then it doesn't, and the order page will show a ship date that has passed, but will not ship. It recently took 5 phone calls to get the order shipped over a week's time, after my instruction on what items were delaying the order--something they should figure out and notify me about. They did they ship the package with priority overnight, so I was grateful for that.
-I have yet to receive a single response to any email I have ever sent. I have no idea if anyone even checks them. In today's internet age, this is a big no-no.
When I do get hold of people however, they are very, very helpful, and that's why this is a 4 star review. Mike P. especially makes sure problems are solved, time and again.
