"Before you buy anything from ebyte.com be aware that they lack customer service and will lie to you and the credit card company when you dispute a charge. I ordered a cisco DPC3825 cable modem/router from them on 8/25/2012 and had to call them to refund the shipping charge ($10.69)since they where advertising free shipping the lady indicated that they knew a problem existed but hadn't resolved it. She did refund the shipping charge and I agreed to allow the order to be processed. My work call and sent me out of town for the next week and I did not return until 9/3/2012 early evening. When I got home and collected all my mail and packages that were sitting at my backdoor/breezeway (all were UPS deliveries) so since FEDEX had indicated in their tracking info that they had delivered/left a package from ebyte.com at my front door on 8/30/2012 I opened the front door and looked for the package and did not find it. I looked in the bushes and all around the porch area with no package to be seen/found. So the next morning 9/4/2012 about 1000 hours I called eybte.com and informed a lady that the package that sent was not in my possession and that I never saw it. She stated it had been delivered based on FEDEX status. I told her if they left it at my front door someone must have taken it since it was not there when I returned home. She stated that they were not responsible for lost or stolen items. I asked her why they did not require a signature and she said company policy was not to require signatures for items under $1000.00 in cost! So I filed a dispute with my CC company and they gave me a temporary credit and 30 days later issued a permanent credit based on ebyte.com did not respond to the dispute. On 12/4/2012 I received a letter from Discover Card and included with their letter ebte.com's response. EBYTE OUTRIGHT LIED THROUGHOUT THEIR RESPONSE THAT FOLLOWS: IE THIS CUSTOMER CALLED US AND VERIFIED THAT THIS PRODUCT WAS DELIVERED AND THAT HIS DAUGHTER OR SOMEON ELSE STOLE IT AND HE WANTED US TO REPLACE HIS STOLEN PRODUCT. (I NEVER VERIFIED THAT THE PRODUCT WAS DELIVERED NOR DID I SAY THAT MY DAUGHTER HAD STOLEN IT I DID SAY IF IT WAS LEFT AT MY FRONT DOOR ON 8/30/2012 THAT IT WAS NOT THERE WHEN I RETURNED FROM MY WORK TRIP ON 9/3/2012 AND THAT IF FEDEX LEFT IT AT MY FRONT DOOR SOMEONE MUST HAVE TAKEN IT) THEY FURTHER LIED AS FOLLOWS: HE ADMITTED THE PRODUCT WAS DELIVERD AND WE HAVE THE TRACKING INFO TO PROVE IT.(I NEVER ADMITTED THAT THE ITEM WAS DELIVERED BECAUSE I NEVER SAW OR TOUCHED IT) THEY FURTHER LIED: IT DID NOT HAVE A SIGNATURE ON DELIVERY BECAUSE THE CUSTOMER WAIVED THAT SIGNATURE DURING THE CHECKOUT PROCESSS! (AGAIN THE LADY IN CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLD ME THAT EBYTE DOES NOT REQUIRE A SIGNATURE ON ITEMS LESS THAN A $1000.00 SO IT IS THEIR DECISION NOT THE CUSTOMER) NEXT LIE: HE TOLD US OVER THE PHONE THAT HE KNEW ABOUT CREATING A CLAIM JUST TO GET HIS MONEY BACKAND EVEN THOUGH HE KNEW IT WAS WRONG DISCOVER NEVER QUESTIONS CHARGEBACKS THAT HE DOES AND THAT OUR COMPANY WOULD JUST BE OUR OF THE MONEY. (I TOLD HER IF EBYTE.COM WOULD NOT HELP RESOLVE THE CLAIM FOR THE MISSING ITEM THAT I WOULD CONTACT MY CC AND DISPUTE THE CHARGE WITH THEM SHE STATED THAT THEY WOULD RATHER NOT HAVE TO ANSWER A DISPUTE BUT THAT THEY WOULD NOT RESOLVE THE MISSING ITEM SO THEY LEFT ME NO CHOICE BUT TO DISPUTE THE CHARGE) EBYTE CONTINUE TO MAKE STATEMENTS AS FOLLOWS: THIS IS CRIMINAL THEFT AND CHARGEBACK AND WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE CREDIT CARD COMPANIES SUPPORT ON THIS: (THAT IS A BOLD FACE LIE THEY KNOW THE ITEM IS MISSING AND I REPORTED TO THEM AS SOON AS I FOUND OUT IT WAS MISSING AND THEY REFUSED TO HELP RESOLVE THE LOST/STOLEN ITEM AFTER FEDEX TRACKING NUMBER SHOWED IT DELIVERED TO MY FRONT DOOR 5 DAYS BEFORE I RETURNED HOME!) EBYTE FURTHER STATED: THIS IS THE FEDEX TRACKING NUMBER WITH PROOF IT WAS DELIVERED XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. (FEDEX CAME TO MY HOUSE AND WE TALKED ABOUT IT AND I TOLD THEM THE SAME THING AS I TOLD EBYTE THAT I WAS OUT OF TOWN ON BUSINESS AND THERE WAS NO PACKAGE AT MY FRONT DOOR WHEN I RETURNED) EBYTE FURTHER STATED: PLEASE CALL ME DIRECTLY ***-***-**** IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DISCUSS FURTHER. (I HAVE CALLED AND LEFT A MESSAGE WITH NO RETURN CALL AS OF WRITING THIS REVIEW) EBYTE FURTHER LIED: I HAVE PERSONALLY HAD 3 CONVERSATIONS WITH THIS CUSTOMER. HE ADMITS THAT HE DID GET THE PACKAGE AND IT WAS IN HIS POSSESSION AND THEN STOLEN. (AS STATED EARIER I NEVER HAD POSSESSION OF THE PACKAGE AND I TOLD THEM THAT) MORE LIES FROM EBYTE: THEN HE CALLED AND SAID HE WAS OUT OF TOWN WHEN THE PACKAGE WAS DELIVERED AND HIS DAUGHTER STOLE IT. (I TOLD THEM FROM THE START THAT I WAS OUT OF TOWN AND NEVER SAID MY DAUGHTER STOLE IT THAT IS PLAIN BS) MORE LIES FROM EBYTE:THEN HE CLAIMED IT WAS DEFECTIVE AND I OFFERED A REPLACEMENT IF THE ITEM WAS SHIPPED BACK AND HE SAID HE COULDN'T SHIP IT BACK. (AGAIN I NEVER HAD POSSESSION OF THE ITEM SO I WOULD NOT KNOW IF IT WAS DEFECTIVE OR NOT) EBYTE FURTHER STATED: THIS IS A CLEAR CASE OF FRAUD. Then, the next day:

Eight days charging my credit card, in response to my question about the status of my order:
"Yes...stock has arrived and your order will ship today. I will follow the order and make sure that you have the tracking information as soon as it is available."
Then, two days later:
"We apologize for the inconvenience, but the item you ordered...is currently on back order. We do not have an ETA for when this item will be available again for shipping at this time. Since we cannot fulfill your order at this time, we have cancelled your order and your payment has been refunded."
I will not do business with this outfit again."

"Vendor's customer service and support do not work. I am unable to obtain tracking information on my purchase, although my credit card has been charged for the purchase. Vendor support on site does not permit sending a support request (claims not all fields are filled in, but it prohibits filling in the blank field), and there is no other way I can find to send a plain text email message. Nobody answers the phone number listed on the site, and I have not received response to my fax message to the vendor.

Not only was that really quick, but I only paid for standard ground shipping, which was about $5 and received the package on the 17th. Everything went smoothly and my new router works great. "Newegg customer service is phenomenal! I ordered a sweet motherboard and after much anticipation it was DOA. I was very disappointed and furious that my business needs were being delayed. I called customer service and was greeted by a warm, friendly, and helpful HUMAN! Within 30 seconds! There was no script reading from India, or sending me on goose chases. They were quick and to the point. I was initially told that I would have to wait about two weeks for my part due to shipping back and forth. I was so mad I was speechless, literally, after a few seconds of silence and me stuttering to myself they anticipated my needs and quickly, without prompting, offered me a program that will have my replacement sent as soon as I call them with tracking number. Also, they paid for shipping.
In a nutshell, it was unfortunate that the motherboard was DOA. Even though that was not the fault of newegg, they took initiative and took care of me as fast as possible. I have full confidence in newegg and will use their services whenever possible."
"While attempting to purchase a product on Ebyte.com the failure led to multiple charge for the product on my credit card. Attempt to contact Ebyte by there telphone # was met with their answering machine-attempts to contact them per their " Support " message was only responded to two days latter after threats of going to the Federal Trade Commission-Better Business Bureau and only then did I get a real person responding in email promising to remit my credit card the following morning. However, the following morning I was back to the same old-same old!

Items arrived safely and as advertised, though the PSU was not well packed, with only a few airbags thrown on top of a loose product in the box. If they're going to ship UPS, they'll need to improve how well they package their items. Otherwise it was a positive experience.
