"I ordered Toshiba Netbook (through buy.com). I am leaving US on coming Saturday so ordered with expedited delivery. Everything was fine till they charge my credit card.I got a confirmation mail as well. Today when I tracked my order, I found it got cancelled. Surprisingly there was no mail.Now have to chase them for money. Have to carry a laptop for my trip but I couldn't. "

"I bought an Asus computer from Electronicadirect on August 28 2010 and it was supposed to have Windows 7 home premium as advertised. When I received the computer it had Windows Starter. Big Difference. I contacted Buy.com about the unit and they said they don't have an upgrade for the OS and that I could return the unit to Electronicadirect. I contacted Electronicadirect and Michelle said that I would have to contact the manufacturer to change the OS. Hey Michelle, Wake Up. Today Sept 8, 2010 I tried to call Michelle and a recorded msg states that "THEY" are on vacation till the 13th. Nice of the company to give "EVERYONE" the week off! Sounds odd doesnt it. What I am afraid of is that on the website it says that if you return the item and the price has gone down, they will refund you the lower price. Great idea! First send out the wrong item that would naturally be cheaper and then lower the price to reflect the actual price you should have charged in the first place. That is a quick $50.00 to make of your customers. Let's see what kind of refund I get."

"Horrible customer service. I wish I had investigated this company before ordering from them. I have recourse with the manufacturer, but this is no way to run a business.

I purchased a very expensive motherboard from this merchant. It arrived about a week later. All components for the server finally arrived. When assembled, the motherboard turned out to be faulty. Their website says it had been thirty days since my order but I disagree. It had been less than 25. I would love to discuss this with their customer service but they won't return emails. Good luck getting anybody on the phone.

Bottom line - their prices are low for a reason. Avoid at all costs. The rest of my day is going to be spent finding all sites that allow me to review this crap of a company.

"100% CUSTOMER SATISFACTION(YEAH RIGHT). I AM NOT SATISFIED AT ALL. I purchased car speakers(2 pairs of Polk Audio DB651S)that were for Father's Day as a gift from Electronica Direct on June 9, 2010. They were shipped and scheduled for delivery June 15, 2010 in time for Father's Day(6/20/10). On 6/15/10 they were out for delivery as scheduled and that is when the problem began. The UPS driver was not able to deliver package because a correct street number was needed for delivery. I called UPS to confirm that the address was correct. UPS had my local UPS call me back to confirm address was correct so can redeliver the package the same day. Electronica Direct blocks all packages from being placed on hold for pick up because I was not able to do that the UPS agent to me. Anyways UPS did not redeliver the package and was sent back to Electronica Direct(CompuPlus). Since I had another order with Electronica Direct that was schedule for delivery the next day(6/16/10)I assume it would not be able to be delivered but it was delivered. So I called UPS and let them know of the package that was deliver to the address that according to them was incorrect. UPS apologize and told me to have the shipper call UPS to arrange the redelivery of the package since it was their mistake and I already paid for shipping. I emailed Electronica Direct; let them know the whole issue and they responded quickly stating that they can ship the package overnight but it won't be there before Father's Day. So the ask whether I would like a refund or the package returned to me. I responded with an email that I don't want no refund just the package returned overnight at no additional charge(for the inconvenience) since it was UPS that committed the error. Electronica Direct replied with an email for me to confirm that the address was correct for reshipment. I replied to that email that the address was correct. Now on 6/21/10 I received an email from Electronica Direct stating that a refund was issued. This was a partial refund minus the shipping charges and I assume the return of the package to them was deducted as well. I thought the refund was an error so I waited till the next day to see if I would get an email stating that the package was reshipped but no email. I emailed them again on the status and no response from them at all. I called UPS to ask if the shipper had ever contacted them regarding any arrangements on reshipping the package and UPS stated NO. I ask can I get a refund on the shipping charges since it was their fault and UPS said yes but the shipper needs to contact UPS to issue a reimbursement to Electronica Direct. Now if UPS reimburses Electronica Direct for all shipping charges then I should be entitled to a full refund since none of this was my fault. I emailed Electronica Direct in regards to calling UPS for reimbursement and still no response. This issue should not be that difficult to be resolved, I would assume. Today is now 6/24/10 and still no reply from Electronica Direct."

"after ordering the garmin 1490t a friend of mine ordered the same unit and told me out of the box his unit never came on. so I decided to go to http://www.resellerratings.com/ to check seller out and to my fears there were many unsatified & Unhappy customers with the same problems the units not starting up or locking up.....my unit keeps locking up and takes several reboots to boot up then right from the start the unit will be very choppy and just lock up again very frustrating I have to send it back to garmin ...I will never deal with electronica again and this is my second time dealing with amazon and the second time unhappy I am done with amazon and disappointed with amazon for dealing with shady outfits. my only regret is that I did not check reseller rating on ElectronicaDirect. I figured Amazon being a big company would check on and police bad companies but I figured wrong. this is the second time dealing with amazon and the second time unhappy with amazon "

"I ordered a refurbished LaCie 500GB hard drive. When I received it it was only a 320GB. I wrote to them and asked for them to fix it and received this response:
"According to our records and the numbers you are providing, everything indicates that the drive you received contains 500 GB of memory. You can contact Lacie at ***-***-**** to verify that information"
(Hey, guess what? Why don't you contact Lacie? You made the mistake, not me!)

So, we send the hard drive back to them (at our cost) and get the following email:

"Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for placing an order with Electronica Direct. We are very sorry, but due to an inventory error, the LaCie Refurbished 500GB Triple Interface Rugged Hard Drive - 301371-R (Refurbished by Lacie with a 90Day Lacie Warranty) that you have ordered has been oversold and is currently out of stock. Your order has been cancelled and a full refund posted to your account.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you and regret that we were unable to supply you with the item of your choice. If you would like to get a different item instead, please let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

We value your business, and we hope to be of service to you in the future.

"I ordered a Boston Acustics Sound Bar with wireless Subwoofer from this company, and received it defective. About one hour after receiving this item and hooking it up, I found it did not work and contacted Electronica Direct for a RMA to return it. After receiving the RMA and sending it back, I found that this company wants to keep your money. After numerous emails and phone calls to Electronica Direct and Amazon.com, I am being told that I will have to pay shipping charges for a defective item I sent back. I called my credit card company and reported this to them. Now Electronica Direct is being watched by my credit card company after having to put this charge in dispute.
I was sent an email telling me I would be refunded the amount minus $36.58 for shipping and handling for a DEFECTIVE item that I could not use to begin with. Now after spending another half hour on the phone with Amazon.com, I am still no further then I was a week ago. I think Electronica Direct makes their money by selling defective merchandise and charging the customer for the shipping when the customer tries to return the defective items.
I will be sure to never recommend this company to anyone. Just read the other reviews before trying to buy from this company!
It has been more then three weeks, and Electronica will still not answer my emails telling me they will refund the full amount for selling me defective merchandise!
Reading other reviews of this company, I am reading that Electronica Direct tells everyone they have been trying to call the customer and refunding the full amounts when they haven't.
If you decide to deal with this company, you are throwing away your hard earned money!
Go elsewhere for your items!

"I purchased a refurbished Linksys Router from Electronica Direct through Buy.com Marketplace. I was aware that it's warranty was only for 90 days. When I called Linksys customer support to help me set it up, they said that based on the serial number of the unit, the warranty had already expired before I received it from the seller. First Electronica Direct told me I could ship it back but at my expense, for a refund. I called Buy.com and the customer service rep was very helpful in trying to negotiate with Elecronica Direct. I was finally emailed an RMA with a polite note saying "Thank you for your recent order with our company. A prepaid shipping label will be emailed to you later today so you can return the product at no additional expense." I thought that was the end of that matter, and I waited for my refund. Lo and behold, they subtracted the cost of shipping from my refund, so I still ended up paying for their shipping an item they sent me which was out of warranty and their mistake in the first place. I wrote the following letter of protest to no avail:

"Wait! Why did you not refund the shipping and handling charge also? It was agreed that you would give me a full refund of $29.97. You made me believe that you would provide me a shipping label so I could return the product at no additional expense yet you made me pay for it by subtracting it from my refund! What on earth is this? Is this how your company makes money? By selling out of warranty products to unsuspecting customers then keeping your tiny profit by withholding the shipping and handling fee and issuing a partial refund? If you don't give me the rest of my money back, I will file a formal complaint against you with buy.com, paypal, consumer reporting websites and the online Better Business Bureau. I have been very patient with you but now I'm mad! I don't care that it was just a few dollars...it's the principle of the matter now. I demand a response ASAP!"

Did they give me the rest of my money back? Are you kidding?

RESPONSE (FACTS)
First of all, if you checked your logs, you would've known that I'm a SHE. Yes, I received a prepaid return label AFTER a day. No one was trying to call me, I was waiting. They, however, sent an e-mail, which I received a day after they claimed they were calling me numerous times.

Well, here's another problem with them. They assured me that they will be sending the replacement in 3-4 days. I exchanged e-mail with the representative about this on Thursday (Oct. 15) and asked her to give me a tracking number, but so far, there is no tracking number and a week has gone by without a word from them on what the status is.

The worst thing about this is, I sent the package a day after I received it to speed up the process, but I guess they are prone to errors and has a strong tendency to whisk clients away.

Please, stay off this online store. The extra money that you think you might save is not worth the hassle that these guys bring.

I will never do business with Electronica Direct anymore. They are dishonest, has poor customer service, and does not do business well with potential clients/current clients. I ordered a Neat Receipt Scanner at Amazon the other day. The picture and model they advertised was the one I really liked; hence, I purchased it BRAND NEW.

When I received the item, not only was it the back model, it was refurbished that had scratches and a dent on it. On top of it, IT WAS NOT WORKING!

I politely called Electronica Direct customer service and got a prompt reply from the representative that I had the wrong model and will check with the warehouse where it came from to see what went wrong. She told me she would call me in 10 minutes and that she will e-mail a prepaid shipping label so I could return the item. 5, 10, 20, and an hour went by. No call. I checked my e-mail and there wasn't anything in there, too.

I would understand if she did not call back for the day if she received the complaint 15 minutes before closing time, but this was ridiculous. I called at 3:40 p.m.--enough time for them to know what went wrong and to be courteous enough to let me know what happened and what we are going to do next.

I will NEVER, EVER buy from this company again. They are UNRELIABLE, LAZY, and DISHONEST IN THEIR ADVERTISEMENTS.

"I just purchased a $550 Crucial SSD from them through the Bing Cashback program. Very few merchants had them in stock and those that did were 20% higher. I didn't bother to check their rating until after the transaction. Turns out they used to be (or still are) Comp U Plus which has a horrible history. I got pretty skeptical. Then I figured, since Microsoft was partnering up with them for their Bing Cashback program, it should be pretty safe.

Shortly after placing the order a CSR phoned and then emailed me to verify my address. I thought she was going to up-sell or cross-sell me something. Thankfully she didn't.

The next day I received an email saying the order shipped, however the tracking number wasn't going to be available for another 24-48 hours. Very unusual. Perhaps they were having this drop-shipped.

2 days later the package showed up on my doorstep and the tracking number became uselessly available as well. The return address said Comp U Plus on the mailing label. The product package showed some signs of wear, but it was still sealed, and the drive inside was sealed as well. So far it is running perfectly.

It wasn't the smoothest transaction I've ever had, but with the Bing Cashback I ended up getting a great deal on a great product. I would buy from them again. 5/5!

"Ordered a Gyration remote + keyboard for a new htpc setup Monday night, arrived Wednesday afternoon, perfect condition. Very impressed by the fast service (order to ship to arrival, in < 40 hours).

Note, I didn't have to deal with customer service, so I can't comment on that.

Also, the one negative is that they had two different prices between a bing cashback-based login, and a non-bing login. :( It was a small difference (3-4 bucks)

However, all in all, it was a good experience. No misrepresentation of any prices or products. And everything is working smoothly. Also very happy with the net price that I paid.

"DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS SELLER. Be smart and take your business elsewhere. This seller misadvertised some DVDs as being 4x. When they arrived they were 1x-8x and incompatible with my machine. Apparently four other people had had the same experience based on Amazon.com feedback. I incurred $12 shipping costs to return this product. They offered to refund me just their initial shipping and the product cost, but would not cover my return costs. The product was useless to me, as it had been to others as well. It is incredibly unprofessional of them to not make good on an issue for which they were ENTIRELY AT FAULT. Please don't waste your money here - the service is poor and they don't stand behind their business or products.

Update on July 20, 2009 - Electronica Direct replied to my review. Unfortunately, they were not truthful in the reply and, for that, you should avoid doing business with this company. Their reply indicated that I had been refunded in full. In fact, I was NOT refunded for my return shipping charges that resulted from receiving a FALSELY ADVERTISED item. To offer me a $10 coupon (which was LESS than my shipping costs)and which suggests that I must do further business with them, after being screwed, is ludicrous. Would you trust your money with these folks? Hope not. I go to this effort to alert potential future customers because this company has gone to great lengths to avoid reimbursing me for all costs incurred.
