"I too have had an inordinately long wait. After reading many of these reviews, I am incredibly jealous of those who received their vacuum in 4 days! I find the company's inability to provide tracking numbers for such expensive purchases inexcusable. I find their pat-on-the back emails (reassuring they are not) insulting. I just want to see the product I spent over $450.00 on. I know what the website says. It is so incredibly vague, if you add it all up it could take a year to get your item. Sounds to me like some restructuring is in order. They really need an efficiency expert or something!

"Factory Direct Superstore has a pretty bad reputation on most ratings websites. Most have to deal with the amount of time it takes for people to receive their products. I was pretty hesitant to order from them, but the savings was too good to pass on. We bought the DC25 Animal, and it came with the mini turbine head, extra pre-filter, and the soft dusting brush. Those accessories would be an extra $130. The retail price on the vacuum cleaner is $550. So we got $680 worth of stuff for $428. They recently bumped it up to $448. No charge for shipping outside of the state of NJ.
Factory Direct Superstore is upfront on their website about the delays in shipping. Up to 20 business days on top of any manufacturer delays. It took almost 6 weeks for us to get our vacuum cleaner. It came in the original Dyson box, not damaged at all. The box that had the extra stuff came 2 days later. I'm giving them 4 stars, because of the wait. If it didn't take five and a half weeks to get, they'd get 5 stars no questions asked. Excellent savings on a brand new product, not refurbished. Just don't order from them if you need your vacuum quickly. "
"Ordered my Dyson vacuum on 8/14/10 from Factory Direct. So, going on one month now, and no vacuum in sight. When I called, I heard the "due to volume of orders, we are slightly behind", which it seems others have heard for a couple of years. To date (9/10/10) don't know where or when I will receive my Dyson vacuum, but I do know where my money is...deposited by Factory Direct!!!"
"Do not order from this site! It is a rip off. They take your money and do not deliver the products. I sent emails and just got the run around with no real answer. When I sent an email that I was calling my credit card company to dispute the charge, someone called me within the hour to give me an "update" on the status. A bunch of hooey about it shipped to this warehouse, but not to this one, yada yada. Couldn't give me a shipping company or tracking #, but promised to call with one within 2 days with a tracking number. Didn't happen. These people are scam artists- don't deal with them."
"I was so nervous about this company from the get-go (yes, I read all the fine print about charging your credit card when you order and no tracking info and a long wait...PLUS all the bad reviews..) but decided to take a chance and order anyway since the savings was so great. I figured IF I had a problem (like not getting my items) I could always dispute it with my credit card company. Well, business day 17 came and went so I called customer service and spoke with Cecelia. She advised me that it might take up to 20 business days and to call back if I had not received my order by then. (REALLY nervous at this point and thought I got scammed!!) Business day 20 came and no vacuum so I called again and spoke with Chris who immediately escalated my status and advised me Harry the supervisor would call me back. I was super skeptical by this point but I agreed to wait for Harry to call me back. After an hour and no return call I called back and asked for Harry. He answered the phone and sounded aggitated that I had called but he assured me that the problem was with Dyson and the product not being shipped from the factory. He pulled up the order and said he could see where my order had just shipped from PA and I should receive it by Friday. He said I would be getting a confirmation email within 24 hours. I was happy and I hung up. Several hours later that evening I got another call from Harry stating the same thing (apparently he forgot he already talked to me and there was not a note on my account--weird I know). 24 hours passed and no email...back to being nervous again but there was nothing I could do. I decided to wait it out until friday to see if I would get my vac. Well whaddaya know...Thursday morning UPS brought my vac. In the original Dyson box wrapped in plastic. It was a little beat up by UPS but the vac was just fine. I absolutely love my Dyson Animal (DC28) and I am so happy that I saved a bunch of money. I registered the vac with no problem. It IS a real Dyson and not a knock off or refurbished or anything like that. It works GREAT and sucks better than any vac I have ever used (I was a Rainbow owner)... oh and today, I finally received my free accessory package. So all in all...read the fine print... you probably will have to wait for your purchase but this company is not a scam or out of business. They are on the up and up and I am very satisfied and would order from them again.

"Here's my 2 cents worth: I just purchased a dyson from Factory Direct Superstore on July 12th and received it on August 4th. The bonus kit showed up with it. Everything is fine. I registered the product with Dyson, which is a great company. So if you do not need the vacuum right away and don't mind waiting beyond the standard delivery time of 5-10 business days for it, without the ability to track the shipment, go ahead and make a purchase from this company. They do respond right away; I even received a phone call toward the end to to let me know the exact delivery date. I will say the long wait and the inability to track was a bit unnerving. For me, it would be worth paying a little bit more if it meant I would have a tracking number, and peace of mind."

Within 2 weeks one of the speakers stopped working. After arguing with us for a week they finally agreed to have us send it back and they supposedly repaired it. It came back worked for 2 weeks then stopped working again. Even though they say they have a life time warranty they would not fix it again without US paying for SHIPPING!!. Now neither of the speakers are working. I am disgusted with the experience I had with these people and will tell you, that a Life time warranty is only as good as those who back it up. In this instance it is worth NOTHING!!

"First off I do not work for this company and am not affiliated in anyway - I am a consumer just like the rest of you trying to find a good deal. Ok - yesterday I placed an order for a Dyson dc25 animal and I received an immediate email confirmation. After that I went on line and researched the company, something I should have done before submitting an order. Needless to say after reading some of the reviews I felt nauseous and scared and wondered what I had done. Did I just throw away 450.00? But upon further research I did find several positve revviews as well. I think what the problem is - is that sometimes unfortunate things happen. If you look deep enough there is not a compnay out there that does not have complaints against them. There are different ways to look at it - sometimes the company is at fault, sometimes it is the comsumer at fault for not reading the fine print, sometimes poeple just have plain old bad luck and sometimes there are people who can find bad in everything and have nothing better to do but complain. Anyhow, I placed the order yesterday and received an immediate comfirmation, it also stated that I could upgrade to overnight express and explained how long it could take (the website also showed this information), this morning I received an email confirming that my order has been sent to shipping. The email also explained again why they do not give a tracking number (again clearly stated when ordering. I was still nervous after this and sent an email asking what it would cost to upgrade to overnight service, 20 minutes later my phone rang and low and behold, it was customer service. Her name was Pam and she told me all about the over night service as well as regualr service and was very helpful. In the end I decided not to upgrade to over night express and stick with regular service. I will keep you informed as to how fast I receive the product. But I do believe all the customer reviews - good and bad!
UPDATE: I placed my order Sunday June 6th, 2010, I received the bonus kit on Monday June 14th, 2010 and received my Dyson dc25 Animal on Thursday June 17th, 2010. The box was damaged but that was UPS's fault, not factory direct. There was no damage to the vacuum. So, yes I would recommend this company 100%."
"First, I would like to state for the record that I am in no way afffiliated with this company, besides being a consumer.
As many of us, I was on the hunt for a great deal on the Dyson, who wants to pay top dollar. I ran across this website and was very excited to find such a great deal. But, as they say "If it looks too good to be true, it usually is". So I set out to find reviews on this company and found a lot of negative feedback. Claims of credit cards being charged before shipment, waiting a month before receiving items, etc. So I went back to the site and sure enough it was all spelled out right there. They tell you upfront, that they charge your card right away; they tell you "orders may take between 10-17 business days to receive AFTER a 1-3 business day processing period"; they also tell you that there is a restocking fee if you return the item and that any bonus items ship seperately. They even state that you will not get a tracking number but you will have to sign for your item when it arrives.
Keeping all of this in mind, I decided to go for it with the understanding that I was covered by my charge card if something went amiss.
I ordered my Dyson DC25 Animal + Bonus Kit on March 4th and recieved it on the 18th.
I sent an email requesting a tracking number stating I needed it to make arrangments for accepting the package because I could not be there (although I could have had it shipped to an address where I knew someone would be able to sign for it). Anyway, they emailed me back and said it was not possible.
So I estimated the date of arrival and planned to call a day or two before my estimate to see if they could give me a date of delivery. The nice gentleman on the phone had to access another site in order to get the item ship info. He told me they do not have the tracking numbers but he could tell me that my Dyson was scheduled to be delivered that day. And so it arrived!! And, I didnt have to sign for it. Im not sure if that was because of my UPS guy or if F.D.S. made the change.
Anyway...I love my vaccum and my attachments arrived the next delivery day. No sweat!
I didnt go real far back in the reviews, but it seems like if you order around a big holiday you are going to have to wait a bit longer for your shippment.
Shame on the people who didnt do there research and are giving this and other companies a bad wrap."
" On March 2, 2010 I ordered a Dyson DC28 plus a bonus kit for $499.00. After placing the order I found this site with some disturbing reviews. I thought that I would have to go through all kinds of stress in order to get the product or get my money back through the credit card company.
After placing the order I received 2 emails one thanking me for the order and another Order Conformation. The next day, 3/3, I received a third email saying that the order was sent to shipping. That last email also mentioned that there was no tracking number because of multiple shipping points and that the order would take from 10-17 business days. That meant that I should receive it between 3/17 and 3/26. On 3/16 UPS delivered the vacuum cleaner and on 3/17 the bonus kit was delivered. The box that the vacuum came in had some slight damage but the contents were in perfect and new condition.
I have no complaints about the service; however a tracking number, regardless of the number of shipping points, should be possible. While I was making the order I did think that the website looked a little amateurish. This did give me a little concern. If I had seen the reviews on this site before placing the order I would not have placed the order. In spite of that afterthought I am happy that I did place this order. If anyone were to ask me where I got such a good deal I would tell them about my experience and tell them to look here before ordering. I would like to know why this company has had so many complaints from so many people. It does seem rather strange.

I ordered a Dyson vacuum and attachment set, I waited weeks for the delivery, I never received the delivery, and Factory Direct would neither refund nor resend the order--a customer service representative said there's nothing they can do and a supervisor said "How do I know you didn't receive the vacuum" suggesting I was a liar/thief. "I see alot of bad reviews for this company and it made me very nervous to order from them, but I personally had a very good experience with Factory Direct Superstore. I should state that I am in no way affiliated with this store (as many who left positive reviews are accused of being). I chose to order through Factory Direct, despite the bad reviews, because they had the best price I could find of the Dyson vacuum I was looking for and offered free shipping and a free accessory kit. I was definitely a bit leery of the process as they warn you flat out that they will charge your card as soon as they receive the order, they do not provide tracking information and the order can take anywhere from 10-17 days to be delivered after a 1-3 day processing timeframe. They also warn that there may be further delays if there is a limited supply of vacuums being released by the manufacturer. I personally received my order within 8 business days and it came in perfect condition with the bonus set arriving at the same time (which they warn might not happen). I found the people there easy to deal with, and they answered all my questions before I purchased and after. The only annoyance I had was that they require a signature to deliver the package, which is great in one way since it is an expensive item that you don't want just left on your porch, but if you are like me and work during the day it meant that they attempted to deliver twice before I finally went and picked up the vacuum from my local UPS distribution office.
I think you need to go into this experience expecting that you might have to accept some inconveniences to get a low price, and be comfortable knowing that you aren't going to get a tracking number and that you will be charge for the full price as soon as the order is placed. I would also recommend to everyone that you do some price comparisons before placing your order. I was deciding between getting a Dyson and a Miele and the prices at Factory Direct were the best I found for Dyson, but not for Miele. I hope this review is helpful!"

I was a bit hesitant to order from them because they had some bad reviews. All I can say is that I received my Dysons DC25 within 4 days of ordering it!!!
On top of that, my salesman Chris was terrific - very polite and very knowledgeable of the Dyson models.
I was heartily recommend Factory Direct based on my very positive experience. The price was the best on line and delivery was lightning fast!
