"FloorMall, aka Hardwood Brokers run by Marc Henderson shut the business down and retained my order after he agreed to provide me a refund. It was substantial order. Part of this is my own fault for giving him the opportunity, but people are either honest or not. The new Floormall site specifically noted they were not associated with the prior company, so there must be others having issues. Trying to get money out of a business that is closed down is difficult especially out of state. if you know how to do this successfully I'd be enlightened. My attorneys thought it would be difficult to succeed.

Save yourself the headache and buy locally unless you are willing to lose the $. You are taking a risk online and it is a bigger risk. Please boycot Mr. Henderson and the business he runs/works for until he makes due what is honest and right. Since there is no legal recourse for dishonest people online (minimal), the public must keep them in tow. Unfortunately, experiences like this are what destroy faith in people and business and that is what destroys an economy. Without honesty and trust and contract, we have nothing.

As well, too many small businesses are failing these days, I would be very careful buying anything substantial. I had a similar issue with a small auto shop that folded and would not backup a warranty. It had the name Goodyear on it..that's another story. We are in caveat emptor right now."

"I also have a poor—but less involved and expensive—experience with FloorMall and Marc Henderson. I ordered a couple of samples, for which they charge $10 each. One of the samples was no longer manufactured, so I never received it. I contacted FloorMall and fairly easily (three emails) got a refund check. Unfortunately, the check bounced when I tried to deposit it at my bank and my bank charged me a fee for more than the check was even worth. I contacted FloorMall again (which had recently been purchased by another company). This time, it took a dozen phone calls (mostly unanswered) and eight emails to get Marc Henderson to agree to another refund. Now, 18 additional emails later (and six months since my order), I've gotten the runaround about whether he's going to deposit a check electronically (which required me to set up a separate account for safety reasons) or mail me a cashier's check. I understand that Marc Henderson is now employed by Build.com. If he's any representation of that company, I'd steer clear of it."
