"I ordered a mat and a metal frame from frameUSA. I made the mistake of ordering late at night when tired, and submitted incorrect measurements for the mat. My problem. However, the metal frame arrived with hardware lacking screws. I asked for another package of hardware but got no response.
When ordering mats from frameUSA, one must submit the dimensions of the artwork, rather than the dimensions one wants for the mat opening. Since this is a possible source of confusion, it would help if the dimensions required were stated AT the page where the mat is ordered, not just in the supporting literature. This is especially important if the customer wants the mat to cover more than 1/4" all the way around."

"The frames were MDF with sticker applied over the top. That was disappointing to start with, because I thought I was buying wood. But the main problem was that all four frames had corners that were pulling apart. The MDF was too weak and crumbly to hold the corner staples. The frames were well packaged with bubble wrap, but that apparently was not enough to prevent the forces of shipping from wiggling the corners loose. I drew the conclusion that they were not salvageable and I threw them away."

"I just placed a large order, didn't understand what i ordered, and have no use for most of the order. An 8x10 frame is not for an 8x10 picture, it is for 5 x7 picture with a mat. Unless there is not an "M" after the listing. But, for a 10x13 frame, there is no mat and that is the frame size. You have to carefully read each listing and refer to a key on the next page.
I ordered on a one day weekend special when customer service is not available. When I received the order I called and the rep was very matter of fact. No "I'm sorry you misunderstood" or "Would you like to return them" or any sort of empathy. I wouldn't be so upset if there was any sort of kindness expressed. "Too bad, how sad" is not what I expect from a seller's customer service.
And the shipping is exorbitant."
"Terrible customer service. Took calling them three times to get them to follow through with processing the return slips. Ridiculous charges for shipping. Terrible return policy. You have to ship the frames back on your own dime, and they charge a 25% restocking fee. And they only give you store credit, no refunds. "
