"I had some seals reach their end of life and needed replacing. I searched online and found the part numbers so I could order and replace them. I found them on the website for $35 each after a dealer discount for choosing my local dealer. They were normally $50 (MSRP) per the website. I then called the same dealer and they said they had 5 in stock. When I arrived to pick them up, they only had 1 in stock (apparently a popular part that day), and they were going to $70 each. Double the cost because they weren't giving the dealer discount I got online, and they were for some reason charging 40% over MSRP. I will never get my car serviced at a dealer again based on this experience. If I had taken it to them to get the parts replaced I would be paying 40% above MSRP on all parts. I will buy the parts on the website and replace them myself, or go to another shop who is smart enough to also not pay double for parts.
The people at Fred Anderson Toyota were very helpful, and explained that when you buy parts off the website, Toyota subsidizes them, so that's why they're cheaper online. Doesn't make it better enough to ever buy parts from them, and doesn't explain the 40% over MSRP, but they were helpful and courteous none the less. "

"Ordered a wheel from their online parts department. The form asked for the VIN number to assure correct part. Screen confirmed correct fit. I ordered it and order was confirmed. Then got another
screen that said this part won't fit my car even though the picture was correct. Called the parts dept of the dealership who said that 1. no way the price was correct even though it was from correct dealership website, 2. the only way to get a refund was to do so online even though the part was a pickup at the dealership and 3. the fellow who answered was somewhat curt in his responses. I will not order from them again. "
