"Code was fine and unlocked phone, but took over 24 hours to get it. This was after I contacted gsm to find out where it was.
Disapointed GSM didn't tell me there was a problem with the server issuing codes for Samsung phones.
Wasn't aware I would be charged an additional transaction charge of£1 I believe for currancy exchange."

"Shockingly bad service.. with so much choice for unlocking phones I'd go elsewhere! I needed a code for an old flip phone, a Nokia, because my smartphone had broken and I needed a backup. I chose GSM Liberty because they seemed to have good customer reviews, and guaranteed a code in 2-5hrs. I placed my order, used paypal to pay, but a few minutes later got an email saying it had to be manually verified by an employee, and that someone would be in touch very shortly. So I waited... and waited and waited. On checking their website again I discovered (in the smalle print) they have no staff on at weekends.
So I had to wait till Monday morning for a response - which I only got by asking for it on their online chat, there was no email response from a staff member. I was asked to provide credit card address information to verify my payment. I told them I had paid with paypal, using my paypal balance, there was no credit card involved. 'OK your order is now processing'. Yes, they didn't actually need me to provide any information. He also told me the payment was authorised but wouldn't be taken until the code was sent - why was wrong because the money had been debited from my paypal account on Saturday. In other words their system wanted the payment checked, but they were still happy to take my money.
So I began the waiting process again. 2hrs passed, then 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... no communication from them. Again, the only way to find out what was going on was to get in touch with them myself. Where I was told they hadn't successfully found a code but, at no further cost to me, they'd search another database and I'd only have the 'slight delay' of 12hrs. 12hrs!! Their site states they guarantee to get code in the time stated. Not only did I have to wait 36hrs for my order to be processed, but I was then being asked to wait a further 18hrs total in the hope of eventually getting a code.
So this company failed on every level. They couldn't get me a code in a timeframe they chose, they didn't contact me to tell me what was going on, they did not offer me any kind of refund or discount when they couldn't meet their guarantee, their communication and service description on the website is poor. If you can't provide the service in 2-5hrs then don't offer it. If you don't have staff on at the weekend then don't say someone will get back to the customer very shortly when they clearly won't.
