"Ordered unlock code for Tmobile Motorola Razr on January 16 for an overseas trip. I received no response for about a week and upon returning from trip on the 23rd, and after numerous emails and phone calls to seller with no response, I went to PayPal and requested a refund. PayPal escalated the case to a claim and within 48 hours I was issued a refund.
Either gsmphonesource is a fraud, was shutdown or they don't really care. In any case, I got my money back and wouldn't recommend this outfit to anyone."
"I tried using google check out and I got no response. I figued they would refund my money since I didn't get the code, but haven't yet. I should have then went to another site, but tried using paypal. I still didn't get a reply. I should have used http://www.cellunlocker.net in the first place. They were less and gave me the code the next morning. "
"These guys are great. I've unlocked two phones from them now and I always get the response within 48 hours, in fact within 36 hours!
These guys are doing you a service, so don't whine about the time -- I understand more than a few days but give them a break until it hits a week.
I honestly have a great opinion of them and will unlock with them again in the future.

"I had very bad experiences with this GSMphonesource. Their turnaround advertised on the site is "5pm PST Monday - Sunday I will normally have your unlock code back to you the same evening ( unless I am on vacation or its a holiday )". This is a total lie. I Ordered twice from them because I needed an urgent unlock code for my cousin leaving the country. It took a day and a half for them to send me my unlock code. I tried emailing and instant messaging them with no response. And after tons of emails I finally get a response and the guy gives me the worse attitude. Horrible customer service. Stay away."
"I am here to report my experience with gsmphonesource.com, Hopefully this will help you decide.
I desperately wanted to unlock my two Motorola phones V505 and V180 to be able to use them overseas as they are both quand-band. After searching so hard and contacting many people mainly on eBay, I came to realize that I might never be able to perform the unlocking on my own since there is no software available for that purpose; it is also hard and expensive to try to get a cable. I also looked at the possibility of unlocking them through IMEI codes from the comfort of my home but apparently Motorola made it very hard on any one to just generate the codes. I came cross many website that claim to have the unlocking codes but I didn't want to go with them since they are mostly based in Europe or appear to be phony. Somebody on AT&T forum mentioned gsmphonesource.com to be good and reliable. Their website appears to be professional and everything. They are based in LasVegas and have a local phone repair shop. As far as I understand this site is owned by someone named Adam Roth, who is basically phonesource.com. Any way I gave them a call since the number appeared on their website, someone picked up....yes, he said they can unlock my phone on site and that I will need to mail them for this service. I didn't look much at the company background so I said ok, screw it, I will take my chances and mail the phones as the person promised to be prompt in mailing them back. I opened an account on their website, created an invoice ($52.00 for both phones including the shipping back to me) immediately sent the payment through paypal, printed the invoice packaged my phone and sent them first thing the next morning, everything appeared to be going well but things went down hill from there! After a week I started emailing them and calling them on the phone. My emails went unanswered and my calls went straight to the voicemail. I started doing some background research on this company and discovered that they have a history of bad business and little of positive feedbacks. I looked mainly at HowardForum.com and resellerratings.com, I was in rage since 10 days past by with no response, so I wrote an angry email and mentioned that I would stop by their location in LasVegas, of course that came into my mind even though I live in Oklahoma! So this guy Adam Roth wrote me back and apologized for the delay, he said he is away and he would work on my order as soon as he gets back to Vegas which was another week. Knowing the unlocking would only take 5 minutes I was upset but had no choice but to wait. So after another week past I emailed him and to my frustration he wrote me back and said quote:" I am back into town but sorry I didn’t get any package from you!" luckily, I had added signature delivery confirmation on my shipping so I fired him with the tracking number USPS provided and the name of the person who signed my delivery. The next day he wrote me back and said "yes your package was dropped off at my location but for some reason it wasn't given to me, but it is now found!" He was quick after that, He serviced my phones and shipped them back to me that same day. At this point I can't make accusation that he knowingly tried to scam me, I don’t know that for sure but I am glad my order turned out ok and the phones came back to me unlocked and safe.
I don’t know if I can recommend sending your phone for unlock service, is it really worth it and safe? I probably learned something; Do not decide to deal with someone before you do some background search on them... I am still angry at AT&T for putting us in this situation, allowing phony websites and crook eBay sellers to make profit out of fraud-ing people with their phones or money. T-mobile would unlock your phone after sometime of being with them, I think AT&T/Cingular should do the same.
Bottom line avoid sending your phone or make it your last resort and know who you will be dealing with.

"The people are horrible. The cell phone battery I thought I was buying at a great price was supposed to be new...it wasn't, it was used, so I sent it back. THREE AND A HALF WEEKS LATER...I got a replacement...IT'S USED TOO. They take forever to email you, ship, and then the product is not as advertised, return for RMA and weeks later the replacement is still not right. I quit. It'll wind up costing me more in shipping to try and get the order right with these people that to just buy a new battery retail. I wouldn't buy $*(#@ from these people. They suck."
"Ordered two items, a flip replacement for a Sony Ericcson P800, and a speaker / charging stand for same. Paid via paypal. Money received, automated invoices sent out, then nothing else. Repeated emails requesting status, then refund went unanswered. Currently awaiting Paypal's refund policy. They do not answer emails, or ship products."
"email confirmation after order, then another email IN GERMAN that somebody will be away untill the 11th of july 2004. Order sat in queue for the last 3 weeks... still no reply to my emails. Since discovered this company has history of fraud....
Do NOT do business with this company"
"Ordered a Nokia 6600 cell phone; battery wdn't charge; returned; still have not been refunded, nor have i heard a peep from them. Have turned over to CardServices."
"Awful. Ordered an OEM replacement screen for my P800. Everything went well, I paid using PayPal, the site is certified secure by Thawte, no issues here.
The order is marked as processed, we are the 7th of june (almost one month later). Nothing received, no answer to my emails, their voicemail is full. I have
blocked the amount on my credit card. DO NOT do any business with these lamers !"
"CC was charged, item was ordered 2 day FedEx, a tracking number was assigned and an order completed email was sent. Their website listed 9 units in stock. It is now the 22nd, FedEx has no record of the item being picked up, GSMPhoneSource is not replying to my emails, their voicemail is full, they are not responding to my pages, and the website shows no units left."
"EXCELLENT COMPANY
Ordered Nokia 3650 blue faceplate - only website I could find with it. I had a question about the look of the faceplate and received an e-mail response less than an hour later. Now that is good customer service. Faceplate was very good quality (worth the high price) and arrived 2 days before an order placed the same day at another website (for girlfriend's faceplates).
So, good customer service, they constantly updated me with order status, the faceplate was awesome quality (not one of those cheap knockoffs), and the price was right.
I had used a backup credit card because I wasn't sure about the legitimacy of the website (hey, nobody had rated them here) but I know that in the future I will order from them without worry."
