"I am very pleased with my shopping experience at GainSaver. I buy tons of items online for my small business, personal use and gifts, this was my first time at GainSaver. I bought a used Apple laptop and your site made it easy to compare models and prices and make a decision. I REALLY liked the way I could customize the laptop by choosing size of hard drive, adding wireless card and more memory, and choosing length of warranty. I felt like I was buying a new laptop from Apple! I will definitely shop at GainSaver again. I have already told 4 other business owners to go there to shop for computer equipment. Thanks for providing such a cool site for us to use!

"All I can say is WOW. I purchased a used IMac for my nieces. They are loving it! The ordering process was easy, prices were phenomonal and the unit has been problem free since its been purchased and beleive me, my nieces are all about being on facebook and fanfare sites so the computer is definiately getting used daily. I will be buying my next HP here when I see more selection of those. cant wait to the Ipad on here!"

"Please read my follow up review at the bottom of this page, dated 9/23/11.

On Sept. 13, I ordered a customized Macbook from Steve, (the person who runs this joint, but who also claims to have no authority) and immediately sent off a cashier's check which they received the following day. I was specifically told, when I ordered the laptop, that once they received the check, the Macbook would be upgraded and shipped and I would receive it the next day. I did not!! What I got was an email saying that my order had been cancelled, with no reason as to why. I tried to call them for the next several hours but they have caller ID (need I say more?!). At about 3 that afternoon, a young girl finally answered, saying that everyone had left as they all started work at 6.30 in the morning - they were tired!!!!!!! I was furious!! I *67'd Steve first thing next morning, asked him why my order had been cancelled and was told that they no longer had my Macbook in stock. That was not true, as it is still on their website. He told me that he would put in a request to his accounting dept. to send me my money back.

Fast forward to today. It is the 20th, and I still have not received my $1,179.95. Have just got off the phone with Steve, and was informed that I would have to create an account on the Gainsaver website, generate a service request no., go into another section of the website, send an email via it, asking them for information re. my refund. He informed me that this was the ONLY way I would get information, as this was the way they conducted their business. This is totally unacceptable to me and if I do not receive my refund by tomorrow, I will be seeking legal action.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. I will update this review once this has been resolved, probably through legal action.

OMG. Have just received an email from them, Order No. CS31404, which was obviously intended for someone else. This further shows their incompetence!!

I called Gainsaver yesterday, asking about my refund, and was told that if I called them again, they would put a stop payment on the supposed check they had mailed to me. I've been waiting for this check for days now, and they're just a city away from me.

Yesterday, I filed a complaint with the BBB in Ca. and they will be conducting an investigation.

"The thought of buying anything 'used', in any way, shape or form, was always an issue for me. When I saw the price of the MAC I wanted I realized used was my only option. The computer I received was in excellent condition, shipping was fast and now buying 'used' from GainSaver is not an issue but a definite first choice."

"My experience with gainsaver has been terrible all around. I found the computer that i wanted customized it and it arrived promptly. After that the problems began. I got a virus which was not gainsavers fault and i had to reformat the computer. I had a computer expert do it after gainsaver informed me that it was not covered under my warrenty. I got the computer running and other problems begain to appear. The keyboard malfunctions and operates as tho i am holding the CTRL key making it impossible to do anything. I contacted gainsaver and sent my computer back. I was told i could get a refund or store credit but i did not have a computer to check my email and several days later i was called by someone and told it was fixed and they sent it back. When i got it back they simply had reformated the drive by the problem was still there right out of the box. I contacted them and they said i had 30 days to return it. My 3 yr warrently was not longer valid b/c i used it to return my computer already eventhough it was not actually fixed. Now im told i can only get store credit minus the money for the insurance and warrenty that i purchased. I am considering legal action if neccessary. "

"I'm hoping that Gainsaver comes through. Returned my MAC and Fedex confirms Gainsaver receipt, but no one can find it. Extended warranty ideally will prove worth the money. Am VERY disappointed at customer service only being online - sales reps answering the phone would no doubt agree as they will 'forward me' to their loop telling me to go online. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping this is not a major ordeal to pursue....someone needs to take this company up a notch or two or three based on the wide range of reviews and my own experience with customer service. I've asked to be called personally for a status report - we'll see.

Update:
I am totally impressed at the response by Steve Harper at GainSaver who personally called and emailed me. Not sure if it had to do with this online discussion - but regardless, am blown away that they searched the office complex and actually found my computer had been delivered to the wrong location and now have it! Sounds like they are trying and I respect that.

Will keep my fingers crossed on the quality of the laptop replacement and performance given all the mixed feedback - but have to say that this has been a relief to see GainSaver stepping up to the plate. I appreciate the response by phone, on foot and this forum. I was getting more than nervous. Will report back.

"The rebuilt computer that I ordered arrived promptly and was in perfect condition and working order. Unfortunately the power source with it does not work. I am using one from an old computer that does work. I think this new one is either the wrong kind or is defective."
