"Delt with this business only a hand full of times since 96 when they had a very small outlet in Rochdale in the mid 90's. Looks like they have finally closed their doors in Springwood, no loss. One the worst business I have ever come across in computer retail. No customer service and openly abusive and hostile towards customers when customers are faced with a hardware issue. Take a look at Gamedude's reviews on Product Review and see the snide comments the owner "Dorian" gives as a response. I'm surprised they lasted as long as they did, good riddance."
"I had to take them to court! We were abused in-store by the owner, Dorian. He also refused to give my PC back that I had brought in for repairs as it was faulty. We asked for it back probably 20+ times and he just refused as he wanted to continue to argue and attempt to belittle me. He snatched things off me, swore at me, pointed his fingers at me. He is a grown adult and I was only 19 at the time. I am a young female and the way he spoke to me was so horrible. He is a disgusting person. I recorded the entire encounter where all of this was displayed, which was later shown to the judge.
He decided to keep the PC and locked us out. We went through QCAT first but they can't make any binding decisions or tell the business what to do but this made it possible for me to escalate it to the court.
It took 4 months for us to get to court, and not once over those 4 months did they make any attempt or effort to return the PC or contact me to tell me I could come to get it.
We went through mediation first, in which he offered me barely a quarter of the price. I obviously refused so it escalated to the court in front of the judge.
As he was in clear breach of my consumer rights and was still in possession of the computer that I had paid in full for, I obviously won and received the full amount + the filing fee. I also had clear proof of everything I said was true where he just rambled on with lies and nothing for 20 minutes.
The kicker is, even after THE JUDGE had made the decision, Dorian continued to argue with the judge and cut him off. The Judge even had to yell at Dorian because of how disrespectful he was. He even ended up hanging up on him as he just couldn't keep his mouth shut. That just shows how delusional this person is. You will not be able to reason with him at all.
DO NOT LET THIS PERSON STEAL YOUR MONEY!
He has no idea what consumer rights there are. Go do your research on the Australian Consumer Law! Take him to court! He can't just flat out deny you repairs or refunds based on "software" or that they can't replicate the fault. Don't let this person do this to anyone else.
He will also probably reply to this review and call me a liar or something along those lines like he has done so many times to these other people who left reviews. If he attempts to defame me or say I am lying, I will take him for defamation. I am not scared of you Dorian. No matter how much you abused, belittled, and attempted to scare me.
At the end of the day, THE OFFICIAL QLD COURT decided in my favour. Yet, he still believes he was right in everything he did.
I've uploaded the proof of the court decision and if I could upload the video of his abuse, I would. In the meantime, please feel free to read the transcript of the video that was submitted to the court instead."
"Spent over $10k with this seller on parts to build a high end computer system. Ordered their most expensive CPU and received something that's 3 years old. Called them the day received, with the box unopened and they refused to return. They refused to swap for something current, gave me some anology about an old powerful car being better than a new car. I was buying a new computer. Theres nothing wrong with me existing system - I am replacing it simply because I want a new system, so why would I want to spend money on something older than what I already have. Its hard to source a motherboard for this CPU as its so old, and uses old technology. The seller's response to my request for a refund was that they often sold older or second hand parts so its my problem. They don't return. However, their website doesn't mention this at all, and they are promoting these parts as new. "
"Bought some items on recommendation from their sales staff because they were out of stock on what they advertised. I asked for an equivalent product and they gave me something completely different. Went home before I realised, next day tried to return it, they said was my fault and wouldn't take it back without charging me 15%. John lee the warranty manager said I was lying and refused to budge. Worst service ever"
"You are best to avoid GameDud at all costs, they are arrogant and really not that knowledgable, all I copped from GameDud was a whole lot of attitude. The pricing can be beaten quite easily too, do a local search and you will find cheaper better alternatives very close to this poor excuse for a business"
"Never have I dealt with a rude company like this one. Customer Service , they have no idea.
They sell on eBay. I bought an item. They day before it was due to be derived I receive a call from a very rude person who mumbled there words and mumbled something about no stock and pay $80 more. I tried to find out what was going on and all I go was attitude. So I tried to speak to a supervisor, I was told they where to busy to both. I emailed and then got a email back telling me I am not a very happy person. Really all I want to know is what is going on, not get attitude."
"Horrendous joke of an excuse for customer service! Manager and staff tell you the complete opposite of what the manufacturer tells you and they aren’t prepared to lift a finger to show the slightest amount of decency towards you.
Purchased a Samsung monitor that had a hardware issue with it that I was told was a common problem with that particular model. Attempted to return the monitor to GameDude who told me to call Samsung and that the process was told by Gamedude that that the retailer does not handle warranties within 12 months of purchase. Called Samsung on the spot who told me entirely the opposite of what I was told by Gamedude staff. Samsung told me to leave the monitor with the retailer and that this was the normal process. I insisted on leaving the monitor there on that advice from Samsung.
The next day the manager of Gamedude told me they would not handle the monitor at all and was completely rude, he told me that it was impossible for them to process a warranty claim (A COMPLETE LIE!). I called Samsung again and told them the situation and they were concerned that a retailer selling their products would behave in such a way. Samsung then called GameDude to reiterate that they could in fact handle a warranty claim and that this was the normal process.
Samsung however, offered Gamedude a compromise where they would simply drop the monitor off at Australia Post (which is basically a block or two away from Gamedude) and that they would handle it, but they even refused this. I called Gamedude just again to really hear from them that they wouldn’t even drop the monitor off around the corner to be done with it and the manager “Nate” was completely callous and not prepared to lift a finger at all. I don’t have a car and had to borrow one just to drop the monitor off in the first place. So i thought his attitude was disgusting.
What a complete joke and a disgusting company. Don’t buy anything from them unless you want to be lied to about the warranty process. The Samsung rep I spoke with has put an official report on Gamedude to head office about their disgraceful handling of this, hopefully they won't be able to sell Samsung products in the future. They had every opportunity to deal with this in a matter that was agreeable but chose not to and were callous about it, that's the only reason i'm leaving this review.
No doubt Gamedude will get online and reply to this comment spewing out lies and bs regarding the situation, like I’ve read them replying to other customers. Guys when will you get it? This just makes you look stupid and worse.

"I purchased a new Samsung printer from GameDude Computers in Brisbane and paid $799 (incl $50 freight) by DD prior to it being shipped to Canberra on 18th October.
After my son, who works in IT, assembled it for me it would not work. We followed the instructions applicable to the fault code and it still did not work.
I assembled and disassembled the printer 4 further times to ensure there was no problem with the assembly.
The error message was LSU engine error.
I contacted Samsung who advised me that with that error message a technician would have to look at the machine, however as the error had occurred in a brand new machine I was entitled to a replacement machine (DOA warranty). This meant I would have to return the machine to where I purchased it.
I also spoke to the warranty department at GameDude with regard to the error message and they said a technician would have to look at the machine.
GameDude informed me that I would have to do this at my own cost. I asked if I could return it with their freight company at their rates and they said no. I got a quote for the freight which was $209. I rang GameDude and expressed my horror at this extra cost to me and they eventually agreed to their freight company collecting it which it did on 25th October.
I received a call on Friday 27th October from GameDude advising they had received the printer and it was working. They said they could find no fault so to get it back I would have to pay the freight both ways and a service fee. They said they would advise me when they had the amount.
I had not heard from them so today I rang them and they said the amount I had to pay into their account before they would return the printer was $145.
I argued that I had registered the fault with Samsung Reference 300210445 and had followed their advice in returning it due to the error message. I again spoke to Samsung who assured me they were happy to replace the machine and said that GameDude could call them to verify. I called GameDude and the warranty manager Conrad refused to make the call as “…he was far to busy with customers to do that”. I explained that I too was a customer.
I again called Samsung who were very cooperative and agreed to call Conrad. They did and called me back to say they had no luck as he was totally inflexible in his position and maintained that he would not replace the printer as there was nothing wrong with it. He maintains that the printer has no problem and has been tested for three days with no problem occurring, therefore I must pay the service fee and freight both ways. He would not accept that it may be an intermittent fault or that a fault existed when it was with me.
I then called GameDude to speak to someone else in authority. I was put through to the sales manager Adrian, who was fully aware of what was happening. I asked him why I would have gone through the arduous process of sending the machine back, if when it was with me there was no problem. I asked him if he was suggesting that there was no error message. He said they did not know if there was one. I said are you suggesting I am lying about it- he said he did not know and would not comment. He then put Conrad on who again told me he was sticking to his decision and Samsung now agreed with him.
I again rang Samsung who said that was untrue and they found him totally inflexible about the situation however there was nothing more they could do.
I again rang GameDude and spoke to Catherine. I asked to speak to the General Manager. She said they only had department managers. I explained the problem was with a department manager. I asked for the General Mangers name which she would not tell me. She said I could send an email to the ****@****. I said I did not feel that it would get to who I intended it to. She put me on hold for several minutes and then Conrad came on line. I hung up.
I would like to add that every one of the people I have spoken to at Samsung have been incredibly supportive and helpful for which I am most grateful.

"I purchased an XFX 7800GT video card from Gamedude for $500. First it took over 2 weeks from payment date to receive the part, they sent me the wrong model number part even after I rang them to confirm with them whether the card they were advertising on their website was the actual picture or the part number, they told me the part number is what I will get and to ignore the picture as it was wrong picture. Anyway I receive it and guess what? I got the card in the picture, not the part number as advertised. Then I open it up and I have no free bundled games as advertised. I ring them up and end up talking to some rude guy called Adrian who tells me that games only come with the GTX version. The box states clearly that bundled games should be included. My friend bought the same card weeks before me from eBay. He got it for same price as me, came in 3 days from USA and he got the correct part and bundled games. If they had sent me the correct model in the first place, I would have the games and the card I originally ordered. When asked what they were going to do about it, he told me “What can I do about it if I don’t have the games here?” This is supposed to be my problem?? I was told I have to get in contact with XFX about the games. Did they have an Australian contact for them? No! And whats more I was expected to chase this up also. I didn’t even get an apology for sending the wrong part. When I told them how dissatisfied I was with the service and the F*%& around, he hung up on me. Which just goes to show, when these guys know they are in the wrong they will not take responsibility for it and take the easy option which is to get rid of the customer, after all they just got my $500 and sent me incomplete part what do they care?? I would stay well away from this store. Yeah the prices are cheap, but u get what u pay for. That is over 2 weeks to receive parts, no communication, rude customer service and then a slap in the face. I will NEVER be buying anything from them again and will be letting the rest of the world know and anyone who mentions ordering from gamedude know also just what they are getting themselves into. SHAME GAMEDUDE SHAME!!!"
"This store offers EXTREMELY POOR services and warranty. I bought a product that did not do what the manufacturer stated the product would do on the box. I attended a store to get a refund (as the Trade Practices Act 1974 entitles me to do - I am a legal practitioner). I was told that they would not give me a refund, unless they tested the product. Then they said that I would need to leave the product there for testing (this was a plug-and-play product). I put to them that they were bound to give me a refund and that it was unreasonable for me to have to return to their store for a low priced item. I asked for the manager, who simply continued to argue that this was within their rights - it is not, buy the way. There was a queue of about 8 people in the services deparment waiting for 20min to be served. Just before me, a gentleman was trying to get a refund for a A$60 RAM memory he had bought. They said that there was nothing wrong with it. It was the third time the customer was there, and he had left the computer for testing with the technicians of Game Dude - they simply kept playing games with the gentleman. GAME DUDE USES THEIR POSITION OF POWER VIS A VIS THE CONSUMERS TO IGNORE ALL PROTECTIONS PROVIDED BY THE TRADE PRACTICES ACT AND FAIR TRADING ACT. However, as their low-priced items do not justify the costs of legal proceedings being brought against them, they keep getting away with it. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND AGAINST BUYING AT THIS STORE."
"Placed an order for 3 items.
2 days later I got a phone call saying that they had 2 of the 3 items in stock, and had put the 3rd item on backorder. Since I did not have time to wait for an unknown backorder time, I asked them to cancel this 3rd item.
Nothing special, but the catch were that they do not refund the money for the cancelled item, and they do not in any way inform about that in their order system or on their web site.
Ordering from gamedude.com.au is a very risky process if you limited amount of money, and a limited amount of time to wait for the item.
Overall NOT RECOMMENDED"
"Returned a DVD+-R Burner for warranty - after 7 weeks I am still waiting. I realise that resellers hands are tied when manufactuers are slow. But Gamedude has exasperated the problem through a lack of communication and an unwillingness to be of any assistance giving an ETA. Have bought a new burner elsewhere while waiting. Very poor attitude towards customers.
End result - after 8 weeks, and constant requests for a Part ETA, Gamdude did the right thing and gave me another (used 2nd hand) burner."
"Very poor service, actually I would go so far as to say downright rude. Thier prices are good but it will be a cold day in hell before I or my wife order from them again. Thier website advises delivery in 5-7 days and when my wife emailed them asking where the order was she recieved a very rude email telling her that the terms and conditions of purchasing "as stated on thier website" advised orders where SHIPPED in 5-7 days, a bit of a poor show there when the sales staff do not even know whats on thier website.(yes, I went to thier website and double checked)
The next day after still not recieving the items my wife asked for a refund so that she could purchase elsewhere and was advised that a refund was not forthcoming as said items had allready been shipped by courier(courier deliveries are overnight from brisbane where gamedude computers are to our place of residence)that was 3 days ago, and we still have not recieved our items.
What more can I say, such a shame, as thier prices are good, but the service, rude replies, and total disregard to thier customers made what should have been a simple purchase, into a living nightmare.
Oh and one last thing I should mention, Items have still not arrived and my wife(she is the one that originally ordered the items)has contacted consumer affairs about the matter."
"Were very tardy about attending to the relacement of a faulty motherboard. I kept receiving contradictory and "
"Have heard some not so nice stories about their customer service skills. Although i ordered from them back in april. Ordered a heatsink, sound card and thermal compound. Stuff took a while to post, about 2 and a half weeks, but was packaged well and didnt have any problems with it. A mate of mine ordered a motherboard from them however, and it was DOA."
