"Actually there are a bunch of reasons. I ordered a pair of clips for the outdrive on a boat I'm picking up because I don't know if the hydraulic system works yet. I had to order them because my local Gander Mountain store couldn't figure out if they had them in stock or not. Apparently the item number listed on the website, doesn't carry into the store. I don't know how a company expects to have any sort of inventory management if they don't even know what they have in stock. Hello! Anyway, on to the rest of this fiasco. Over a week later and I still don't have the clips. Took three days to ship. They were shipped from Greenville, NC and arrived in Memphis, TN in two days. Sat in Memphis for three and a half days and now they are in Mississippi (I live in Kentucky). Hit the old "chat" button. Operator came on and I felt like I was dealing with a thirteen year old. Told me my scheduled delivery date was on Thursday. I told him no, it says on or before Thursday and there's no reason my item should be sitting two hours from my house for the last three days. Now, my scheduled delivery date is changed to Saturday. Save yourself some time and hassle. Order off eBay, it's easier and faster shipping too. "
"Returns are a joke! If you pay online with PayPal they want to give you a gift card if you return in store. My idea of an easy return isn't having to find a FedEx location to drop a return off at. If I didn't pay with a gift card I shouldn't be given one when returning in store. Will never shop at Gander Mountain online or in store again!!"
"Gander Mountain sells products they don't have in stock. I contracted Gander Mountain after almost 2 weeks to find out I won't be getting the item I ordered. They didn't care or even act like this was an unusually practice. This appears to be a norm for Gander MTN. Crappy business, stay away."
"I had liked gander mountain for a while loved thier store and selection of firearms.. but never really bought much from there. I've been wanting an AR15 for a while and finally saved up the money after a couple months and tried to keep patient.. and finally got the cash up and of course had be researching which model I wanted. I decided on the Smith and Wesson MP15T which was listed for $1100. So I first tried to order online because I already had everything in my cart that I wanted, a scope, foregrip, and a couple extra mags, all in all about $1300.. and it wouldn't let me checkout so ok no big deal I drive 30 miles to the closest one and the lady places the order online at the store and I pay everything up front. Walked out that day with a couple mags and box of ammo. 5 days later they finally say the MP15T is sold out and don't know when they will get any in. They refund the money for that, which I don't understand how you don't know something's in stock but ok I got one somewhere else. But my scope is supposed to be on the way shipped to my house and the forgrip I order was on backorder until the 10th which was like a week away then.. so about a week later I start to wonder where my scope is I track it and it says I need to go to the post office and sign for it and the lady on the phone said the same thing but of course after a bunch of back and forth I finally am told it was shipped to Crouse, NC and I live in Kannapolis, so they somehow shipped it to the wrong address. By the way the lady who placed the order at thier store did use my drivers license for my name and address so I don't know how they could've shipped it to the wrong place. The lady at thier Corprate office gets another one shipped to the correct address and I have to pay for my foregrip agian so she can get that to the address when it comes in stock which should've been that same day. And finally now another week later I call agian and ask where my scope is and they tell me it's out of stock!!! Can you believe that!! And of course my foregrip still isn't in stock and it only says "Backordered. Expected to be back in stock soon" I mean what does that even mean?? When's soon?? So I canceled the entire order and am now still waiting on my refund for scope and foregrip which by the way I was supposed to get a refund for because of all the hassle but have not gotten any refund, she said it would be a couple days and it's been 5.. Smh needless to say I would not recommend you make any purchases online and I definitely will not do business with them agian. I didn't even get an apology or nothing. BEWARE OF GANDER MOUNTAIN!! Also just learned that they are going into bankruptcy. It's too bad though because I really did like there store but that doesn't count for much when they can't provide what they have listed online.."

"I opened a Gander Mountain MasterCard a little over a year ago with plans to buy a gun safe or a GPS. After earning over $200 I shopped for a safe. I found a great price on one at a local store that Gander Mountain did not carry so bought it and planned on getting the GPS. They had a limited selection but I liked the Garmin Oregon 600T they had clearance priced at $399.94. I found the same exact model on sale at Cabela’s and another online retailer for $250 with free shipping. I called Gander Mt to price match and place my order. They first verified it being the identical item and the price then told me they could not price match. I spoke with a supervisor who told me the same thing and told me the best he could do is take $20 off. What good are $200 worth of credit if you are paying $130 plus tax more for the identical item. I sent letters to both the corporate office and sales office 3 weeks ago with printouts of both ads for comparison. No reply. I have no choice other than buying the GPS and basically losing $130 of my credit or buy other items. Either way, once I make my purchase I will close my account and never shop there again."
"I bought a bow on Craig's list and took it to the gander mountain in Newnan, Ga this afternoon and I had the best shopping expierence of my life! I know nothing about archary but learned a ton from the wonderful man who took care of my sons bow like it was the last bow on earth! He took the time to not only tune the bow but also allowed all 3 of my sons to shoot it before we left the store! Before we went there my son could not even pull the bow back but after leaving there he is fully confident that he can take down a deer with that bow! Thanks for all the wonderful help! "
"Ordered pants 5 days ago. Still haven't heard a peep out of these folks about the status of the order. If you can't fulfill an order in 48 hours you need to get out of online sales. There's just too much competition that will get it to you faster than these guys. Check reviews before you order from a company for the first time. These guys don't measure up."
"I bought a First Alert Digital Safe at Gander Mountain 6 months ago and have been having problems with it unlocking. This time it would not unlock at all so I called the Gander Mountain store in Spring, Texas and needed to call back several times waiting 20-30 minutes each time. They finally told me to call the manufacturer. First Alert said the batteries were going bad and the batteries are INSIDE the safe and it needs to be drilled open. So being disabled, I have to carry a 77 lb. safe to a locksmith to get it drilled. First Alert told me since the Safe is under warranty they will pay $50 to have the safe drilled and send me a new safe with A receipt. I called Gander Mountain customer service and talked to Christine and she got nasty with me when I asked for a refund and was refused, so I asked her for the name of the owner and she still refused, so I asked for a supervisor after waiting 20 minutes Allen came on the phone I was asking to give them the new safe for a refund, since there is such a major flaw in the design and he cockily refused, so I asked for the name, address and phone number of the owner, then Allen ridiculously replied, "I'm not giving you his home address and personal phone number!" What a jerk!!! So I put it in 'his' language, "Can I please have his office number and address." He still refused and got even more rude and then hung up on me. Is this how Gander Mountain treats their customers that buy FAULTY MERCHANDISE!!! They do NOT stand behind what they sell. "
"I ordered a new CZ Scorpion 9mm carbine online because it was "in stock, delivered by 10/20 to your local store".
Well, their online ordering system charged me twice for this carbine! This caused a Fraud alert by my bank, which really screwed up the whole process. Luckily my bank worked it out and it was shipped via FedEx 2nd day delivery. It arrived at 11:15 this morning, but after 6 hours of waiting, I findly called to inquire when I could pick it up.
The clerk told me that there was no one there that could "check it in" today!
I asked if there would be someone to check it in tomorrow and he told me he didn't know!
He did go into the back and locate and confirm it was there.
Do yourself a favor. Avoid this store and don't buy a firearm through their online system. Go to a local gunshop and get one much faster through them."
"Three horrible experiences with the utica location in Michigan! Don't shop here or give one of you hard earned dollars to support the garbage of employees and store manager that supports their behavior. People at this location do not want to help you at all and don't care! They will flat out lie to you including the store manager about what they have in stock and have been labeled by other Garden Mountain locations as the "black sheep of the district" when asked about certain false information which was given by the staff here. I left my complaint with corporate and hope they take action. I've spent 10 years working in retail and never in my life could I imagine a successful company be represented by such incompetence. I hope the executives of Gander Mountain read this investigate this stores behavior and how they represent their company. Please spread the word and do not support this store."
"Ongoing issue with Gander Mountain regarding them canceling my order and not even telling me until AFTER it was supposed to already arrive. One issue after another, My name and number was taken and I was never even called back. Ended up making contact with them a week later and they had no record of me even calling in.
Finally received a refund and was sent a gift card for my troubles....Which of course they said Id be receiving a $25 and received $20 (which I was fine with, thankful for the gift card).... Then I made the mistake of trying to use their price match system that I told is available....Apparently the Customer service dept lied to me and said only corporate could handle it so then they transferred me to Corporate....Who then told me that I was talking to the wrong people and needed to speak with customer service. Told them I was sent by customer service and that this isnt my first incident with getting caught in the shuffle. Lady apologized and said she would take my info and have a customer service rep call me back......
Here I am almost a week later and I still havent heard a thing. Im so confused as to how they can treat customers this way and still be in business.

"Ordered a 10 x 13 boat propeller from Gander on-line and when I opened the box the propeller was labeled 09 x 16. Did not fit! Called Customer Service early-afternoon on the day it arrived and was told they would ship a replacement overnight for delivery next day. It didn't arrive. Called Customer Service again and was told that the prop wasn't shipped out as promised. Had been a customer for several years but that ends today. "
"Went to purchase a firearm that was on sale. Sales person rung up the sale and charged my credit card almost $600. Went to complete the 4473 form on THEIR computer. 1/3 of the way through it the computer said NETWORK NOT FOUND. The sales person then gave me a paper 4473 form to complete. I then completed it with MY pen as he never gave me one. After reviewing it he informed me that it could NOT be written in black ink. He then gave me a new form and a blue pen to complete...this was all highly inconvenient. Then to complete the transaction they DEMANDED a phone number which is NOT legally required. After refusing to give a phone number they denied the sale. The manager was a complete jerk and acted like he could care less about a sale. I then went down the road to the local gun shop. Saved $10 on the same gun, got a 3 month pass to their range, and no hassle about a phone number."
