"I received a sweatshirt at a gift and called to determine what I needed to do to return it for a different size. The lady that handled the return was very very rude before I even had a chance to speak. I will spare every detail, but suffice it to say that I will NEVER use them myself and will make sure that anyone mentioning them knows of my poor experience."

"Received a call from another customer stating he received my order (the box was addressed to the customer, but the company had packaged my invoice and product). Glen's never contacted me to let me know of the mistake nor that there would be a delay in receipt of the order as a result. After 15 days of waiting, I contacted Glen's to cancel the order (since shipping stated 5-7 days), but they told me it was too late because the item had already shipped. No apologies, no explanation. Finally received the item after 17 days. Product was fine, but customer service is terrible and order processing methods are obviously bad."

"Bought a marcum vs380 underwater camera. It arrived broken. I missed the sellers policy page that states customer service ends at the point of sale. They pushed me off to marcum. I emailed marcum twice and called and left 3 messages from 12/20 - 12/23 before threatening the store with a charge back if they didn't take it back. They reluctantly took it back and did refund my money. Marcum as of 12/30 has not returned my calls or emails. I wouldn't recommend either one of these companies."

"I called the beginning of December to enquire about sizing on a Frabill Icesuit. A girl answered the phone and I could hear her polling in the store as to sizing for my height and weight. I had asked about fitting an XXL. She said everyone thought that would work. Upon arrival it was a bit big and an XL would work better. I called them and they gave me an RMA number and advised that Speedee delivery was the cheapest and fastest. I called them, they were here the next day for the pick-up. I called Glen's and advised I had sent the return the previous day and requested they have the new XL ready so when they dropped off the return they could pick up they new one for delivery. She assured me they'd take care of me and 24 hours later I had the new one at the door and ready to take ice fishing. Sent and received in less than 48 hours. Now THAT is friendly, efficient service and how every store should operate. Did I mention they were far and away the lowest price?"

"Website had incorrect information regarding what their inventory was. I ordered a Carhartt chore coat in brown in a particular size, which the website said they had. They emailed me back, saying they only had the black. I reluctantly told them to ship the black coat because otherwise this Christmas gift for my father would not arrive in time. They didn't email me back with confirmation of this choice, and when I called to inquire, they did not offer me any compensation or really an apology. Fortunately the coat came in time. I will not be shopping again at Glen's. There is a reason Amazon is the best online retailer. Glen's hasn't figured that out. "

"ITEMS ARE NOT IN STOCK - Placed an order, called to verify that item was in stock. Was told that item was backordered and I would have to wait an extra week. I agreed to wait. Two days later, my order is canceled. Apparently, item could not be backordered.
FALSE ADVERTISING and they lie to you on top of that.
They try to entice you to their site with a good deal, then they cancel the item you wanted and hope you purchased other things at full price.

"I recently attempted to purchase a pair of Sorel boots from Glens. The order was placed and my card charged. Three days later, I contacted them via email for shipping information only to find they had cancelled my order for a "low fraud score." This is apparently some software they use to protect themselves against charge backs. I failed because I live in Maine but retained a MA cell phone. They offered me to try a different credit/debit card, but no doubt it too would fail for the same criteria. I will give them for being polite and I received the credit, however, I think they have things a bit backwards. First, they should not charge an account before conducting the fraud screening. Second, it should be used as an initial screening then contact the person for additional information. Humorously, I was shipping to the "billing" address on the credit card, so if it were fraud, wouldn't the order be shipped to the owner of the credit card? If I opened a card in someone else's name with my address, wouldn't the phone number be of the same area code?! Sadly, I think they will lose additional customers given many are opting out of landline telephones. I won't go through that hassle again, only to have to shop again for my purchase in the event it fails, and have my money tied up until they decide to credit my account (3 business days after the purchase when their website said the order was packaged and prepared and cound not be modified). Lastly, coincidence, maybe, but they increased the price of the boots $20 the same day my order was "cancelled" Buyers, beware if you really want an item as they may not come through. Other reviewers indicated they are not always on target with their inventory numbers. "
