"This trip was a lot less stressful than I thought it would be. Our tour guide spoke perfect English and she was always ready with suggestions for our free time. I like the fact that GoAhead has excursions that you can add. If you need some time to rest and recuperate you can choose not to do the optional excursions, and you save a little money. Also, because you're with a tour group, you don't have to stand in lines for tickets at the big attractions/palaces, etc. Having our own tour bus was also a big plus. The food was good, but I didn't realize how much pork and how little beef there would be. Loved the bakeries on every corner. I realize that the big cities have more hotel/dining options, but we could have used a bit more time in the country on this trip. That's why i gave it four stars. "
"I say the wonders of Italy, for that is just what is was. I was overwhelmed by the beauty of this country....So many wonderful places and sites to see. Go Ahead Tours was the answer to see the many wonders of Italy with such knowledge. I couldn't of asked for a better vacation. Being Italian and never realizing the history of this place is shameful. But thanks to Go Ahead Tours I have come to learn and appreciated my ancestors and parent who are from there and who they are. I have come home with such knowledge and wonderful moments due to the tour. My husband and I intend to go back (with Go Ahead Tours) in the near future to where our parents were born. Thanks to our Guide I believe we would get 100% in the history class he has given us. Thank you Ronen, and thank you Go Ahead Tours for having such knowledgeable, pleasant, and caring guide for us."
"An absolutely well organized and beautiful trip. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, caring, and professional. It was a thrilling adventure and would highly recommend it to any one interested in rainforests, rivers, and volcanos. I traveled alone but met new friends I will treasure. "
"The tour director could have done a much better job, however there are other issues on this tour that were not related to the tour director: The Tea Ceremony option was an expensive one, but it was a disaster : We were in a tiny room above a shop with one man mixing the tea and serving it. You cannot call this a tea ceremony. I have seen videos of real tea ceremonies and this was definitely not it. We purchased the expensive option of an all day visit to Kamakura. We thought we would be taken there on a tour bus but we ended up going there by subway and train. It was a weekend and we had to stand up in very crowded trains and there were several station changes to make. Last but not least, it was a real hassle to upgrade our plane tickets after GA purchased them. Apparently, GA does not allow you to upgrade your tickets if they purchase it, but that fact was not communicated. If not for the very helpful agents at United Airlines, we could not have upgraded our tickets.
So, buy your own tickets if you plan to upgrade. That said, Japan is a beautiful country and a great destination.

"Great adventure to Ireland. Fifty shades of green. Go Ahead Tours had a fabulous week tour hitting all the great highlights. Terrified tour guide and bus driver which complimented our trip. "
"We recently returned from tour of Florence Cinque Terre and Lake Como. What a wonderful time my daughter and I had! On her birthday we took a cooking class in Florence. We plan to recreate the meal every year for her birthday "
"First time using a tour and it could not have been better except for one hotel."
"In early 2016, friends and I decided to sign up for the Antebellum South Trip with Go Ahead Tours. We were interested in seeing and learning about Charelston SC and Savannah GA.
My sister and other people had suggested GAT to me. They had previously traveled with them and were very pleased.
Six of us committed to the trip and registered during the Winter months here in Quincy MA. From my first call to GAT, I felt comfortable and positive about our plans and service that I received. The associates that I spoke to various times were all pleasant, helpful and committed to making our trip wonderful.
We had a few bumps in the road but GAT were there for us and solved the issues professionally and with kindness.
Soon after, I mentioned my upcoming trip to other friends and four of them also joined our group which made that nine women traveling together for a week in the South!!!
Please Note: There are fabulous perks available to participants if you plan a trip for a group of more than six people. Check it out with Go Ahead Tours.
Our departure day of March 20, 2016 arrived and off we went to the airport. Our arrangements including air travel were all set up for us by GAT.
Upon arrival in Charleston, our wonderful tour guide, Clara Jane, and the driver for the week, Sandy, made the magic begin.
Charleston is a beautiful, very clean and historical city which has many different sections to experience. The behind the scenes walking tour with Clara Jane was my favorite. We all felt visiting the Citidel was unique and a special stop.
We were joined, believe it or not, by three other women from NY and WA. We were able to enjoy our travels on a comfortable bus, each having our own space.
The hotels were great and the locations to the city centers were superb. Southern hospitality showed at each one and the staff were helpful and friendly. Having breakfast included (and not just cereal) made the beginning of our days perfect.
Touring around by bus, horse and buggy, walking or city trolleys worked out really well. Clara Jane helped us each day and made wonderful suggestions for us to see and experience.
Visiting the Middleton plantations, historical museums, government buildings etc. were all part of our trip.
Added excursions were to Beuford SC, a quaint and historical stop where many movies including Forrest Gump were filmed and to Jekyll Island in GA where we had an overnight stay which all loved and some wanted to stay longer. The sunset off the boardwalk at our hotel was outstanding. Lots of interesting history at the Penn Center and other areas of the island were found fascinating by all of us.
Arriving in Savannah brought fascination and curiosity to each of us. The city is set up in squares that are full of history and you can sit and enjoy great people watching which I love to do. The tour of the city gave a grand overview. Some of us walked to the City Market and enjoyed lunch.
Being Easter week, we visited many beautiful churches at different locations.
PersonaIy, I would like to travel back to Savannah for a long week end and experience some of the places I couldn't get to this time.
We enjoyed a wonderful farewell dinner on the riverfront which was hosted by Clara Jane and GAT. Fun, fun, gathering for all.
There are so many restaurants, cafés and pubs that we experienced
throughout our tour. Too many to mention but I am sure Clara Jane took notes of our reviews and she also had many suggestions herself.
Last but not least, there was a tremendous amount of shopping done by
all of us! The one item I bought was a rice bracelet exclusive to Charleston. You will learn about the rice trade which brought plenty of wealth to the city. But others found many different treasures to bring home.
Great time, new friends and wonderful memories were the comments made by all 14 women(including Clara Jane and Sandy) when we departed for home from the Savannah airport seven days later.
There is already talk of another possible Go Ahead Tour together in the future.
Kudos to Go Ahead Tours for giving us the chance to make these memories
possible.
Thank You, Jeanne R"
"I went on my first tour with Go Ahead last summer (London, Paris, and Rome in July 2015) and went on my second tour in March, the Barcelona City Stay. I've already booked my next tour, the Christmas Markets of Budapest, Vienna, Prague, and Salzburg in December 2016. I love the convenience of Go Ahead planning the transportation and accommodations, and I just have to worry about showing up and enjoying myself. I have met some great people on tour and would definitely recommend Go Ahead Tours to my friends and family. Great experiences so far, and I can't for what's to come!"
"Great adventure. My first time with a tour group. Everything was taken care of by Go Ahead. Luggage, tickets, optional excursions. One
Only thing to worry was when we eat again. And we did, quite often. Nothing like it. Loved every minute."
"The trip was wonderful. It was a well planned trip with a good combination of planned acitvities and free time. Our tour direcior, Tamara, added much quality to the trip as did the local guides. I would definitely like to take more trips with Go Ahead and recommend others do the same."
"Fantastic trip. Retirement dream trip. Memories will last lifetime ."
"This was an amazing tour of the highlights Ireland has to offer! Matthew was a wonderful tour director and turned all the time spent on the bus into much fun with Irish music, treats, and multiple impromptu stops to places he knew we’d enjoy (photo ops, stone forts, and even a hurling demonstration from the locals). He was thoughtful in remembering the multiple birthdays that were celebrated and the honeymoon of our newlywed couple. The friendships made and the experiences were priceless! John the bus driver was also great in navigating us across the country with the Irish traffic jams (sheep). Highly recommend this tour to anyone wishing to visit this beautiful county."
"My husband and I were extremely pleased w/ our Grand tour of Spain. Our guide, Luis, was amazing. The hotel accommodations definitely met and even exceeded our expectations. Go Ahead tours won't disappoint!!"
"From the first trip to Venice, Florence, and Rome to the last to Portugal and Spain, GoAhead Tours have been amazing! Iceland here I come in September!"
