"I've taken two tours with Go Ahead Tours and both experiences were wonderful. The first was the London, Paris and Rome Tour. My tour director was fabulous and so helpful. I was able to experience these cities with the group, and on my own, with no problem. My second tour took me back to London, my favorite city, then to Edinburg and Ireland. Again, my tour director was superb, and since the group on this tour was small, I feel like I was able to do more and see more. If I had the money, I'd be taking a Go Ahead Tour every year. "When I made my reservations I had no idea what to expect.Everything from the website and people at customer service from the tour guide and the tour itself more than exceeded my expectations. The tickets and info arrived on time, The accomodations everywhere were fabulous and the tour guide and bus drivers wereknowledgable and very helpful. "Our first trip Taste of France was excellent. We loved it so much that we booked the Taste of Tuscany and Umbria. That was not so good. We had a problem with our flight and when we called the emergency number they wouldn't accept the charges. We tried to call direct and got no response. We even tried emailing and still we were not met at the Florence airport after having to make alternative flight by way of Vienna. Fortunately the cabdriver knew that the name of the hotel had been changed so at least we were able to catch up to the group.
We were not reimbursed for the cab ride. No one even apologized. This was just the first two days. We never really caught up. There was a sub group from private tour company that didn't mix well and one member was impaired.The hotels were inconsistent in quality. The hotel in Rome was ridiculously too far from everything. We even had to walk 3 blocks with our carry on luggage because the bus couldn't drive to the hotel. The private tour guide who showed us the Vatican and the Forum was terrible. We have decided to try cruising for the foreseeable future.

Our tour guide Georgio was very knowledgeable and really went the extra mile in Rome when he took a group of us on a tour of Spanish Steps, Pantheon, gelato shop fountain etc and guided us back to hotel via bus and subway We never would have had this experience on our own
We loved Sicily and especially the optional tour to Cefalu and the winery dinner

The option to do the city tour, then strike out on your own or to sign up for a variety of extra side-trips is great.
