Go Ahead and Dream Down Under

"This trip was my life-long dream since I was in my teens and I’m 69 now. I was not disappointed. The optional tours greatly enhanced the experience so go for the complete package. I found it well organized and the tour director was very good and very patient with all the multiple personalities. The travel buses were clean and comfortable. But the best part was feeling you were immersed in the culture of the country. Great job Go Ahead!!"

Cherry blossom tour of Japan

"The experience was overall good, but a lot can be improved.
The tour guide was not fluent in english and was facing away from the tourists while speaking which made it all the more difficult to understand. "Cherry blossom tour did not include any of the parks in Tokyo which have cherry blossoms. Skytree tower in Tokyo should be included in the tour.
Hakone and Mt Fuji part of the tour were excellent.
One free day in Kyoto can be replaced with an extra day in Tokyo.
The accomodations were excellent at all places.

Australia New Zealand and Fiji adventure

"My Australia New Zealand and Fiji Adventure was just that! Every day was a new experience. Lots of opportunities for cultural exploration, Lessons in history and the natural environment. Everything from snorkeling on the great barrier reef to visiting a Maori cultural Village. Our guides were great, giving us chances for extra adventures if desired and keeping us safe and comfortable. The tour was great for any age! "

Antarctic Adventure Fulfilled through Go Ahead Travel!

"I recently traveled to a place where few people dare to go, the wild and spectacular continent of Antarctica. With all of its stunning landscapes and pristine paths, I encountered penguins, seals, sea lions, and whales at close range in their natural habitat. It was an indescribable experience, one in which I found myself marveling at the awesome beauty of this great planet and feeling extremely blessed to have such an incredible opportunity.

The journey was not easy or without obstacles - it required the courage to cross through Drake's Passage, considered to be the roughest seas in the world, in a small research vessel - not once, but twice - coming and going, and it took 2 1/2 days each way. Our daily excursions to explore the Antarctic Peninsula required ten people at a time to board small rubber rafts, called Zodiacs, with the understanding that quickly changing weather conditions could sometimes become harsh and make visibility for our return to the ship challenging.

When we landed at each remote island or area of the continent, we were challenged to climb sometimes rugged terrain, often with icy and slippery conditions, in below-freezing temperatures. Our paths were carefully marked by our expedition guides to help us avoid any dangers that may lie further off in our midst. When we were around sea lions, we were advised to stay in groups and to keep a distance of 50 meters so they wouldn't see us as a threat to their sanctuary. We were told to be aware of our surroundings and to raise both our hands and make noise if the sea lions approached, sending them off in the other direction.

Upon our return to the ship one day, we encountered three hump back whales who were swimming between our Zodiac and the ship. We kept our distance and watched with wonder as one of the whales raised its head vertically to get a look around, and then slowly swam with the rest, some 40 feet in length, right beside our Zodiac close enough to touch. When the whales got about 100 feet away from our raft, we finally saw an iconic tail rise and fall as the whales plunged deeper into the water and swam away. It was quite thrilling, and I was ever mindful that the whales were bigger than our Zodiac and could easily upset the raft if they feared us, but we remained quietly observing their grace and beauty.

I shared this Antarctic adventure with 87 other passengers and 40 crew, representing 18 countries and every generation from millennials to traditionalists (19 years of age to mid-seventies). I learned that some were what I would describe as extreme travelers, engaging in world travel for many months and up to an entire year of traveling at a time. I found it hard to imagine how some people could travel with such rigor and at such a young or older age.

It struck me with renewed clarity as I reflected on this once in a lifetime experience that we can each accomplish anything we set our minds to. We need only believe in ourselves and in our ability to accomplish our innermost desires. With planning and purposeful action, we can all overcome our fears and achieve our lifelong dreams.

Time waits for no one - begin charting your path today - discover what personal adventures may lie ahead, and live your life fully, whatever that looks like for you. Thanks to Go Ahead Tours for making this adventure so remarkable!

Amazing, I highly recommend for new travelers

"If you want to go to a foreign country but don't want the headache of planning things out, I highly recommend the Go Ahead Tours. You pick a tour, pay for out right or through a payment plan and go! The book your flights and hotels for you. You have the option for booking your own flight but why would you? They offer excursions that are extra but they are optional. It is better to book them before the trip but you can still book some of them on the trip for like $10 dollars. The airlines were pretty good and so were the hotels. Our tour guide, Lyn Davies was amazing, very accommodating and knowledgeable. If you can ask for her, do it! She even found activities for shows that were not apart of the trip. What made Go Ahead Tours so great is that they communicate very well with their travelers by scheduling Q&A session over the phone with groups. They were always available for to answer questions. Sometimes they called you to check on you and made sure you didn't have any questions. Go Ahead tours are very flexible: you can do excursions or you can go off on your own and customize your own trip. The day tours are really good if you are interested in he history of city your are in, if not you can skip that part. I will definitely use Go Ahead for different country tour, and I have been recommending them to all my relatives and friends. "

Great Holy Land Experience

"We went on trip with approximately 25 people focusing on the sites where Jesus walked and ministered. It was a great experience and very well organized by Goahead. The tour guide was a native and very knowledgeable. We had a serious emergency on the trip with my mother breaking her leg. Fortunately we had good travel insurance which was a lifesaver. I definitely recommend it to anyone travelling. Goahead was great working with our family through this emergency, making sure we had hotel accommodations close to the hospital where my mother was staying and helping all the way through the process of getting her home safely. Words can't express how grateful we are to Goahead and how they helpful they were!"

A look back in history

"We took the Egypt tour and added Jordan because we couldn't see taking this long trip without added on Petra. I was so surprised to see that our first hotel was literally across the street from the Great Pyramids! Every place we went was wisely planned out and our professional Egyptologist was incredible with his descriptions, history and ability to read hieroglyphics. We took a cruise down the Nile which was less impressive. It wasn't the best kept boat and the food was awful. The one thing i did find out was giving us a bottle of water for breakfast wasn't in the tour's plan. So i highly recommend a change in that policy. Everyone, young and old may have to take their vitamins or pills and water is a main stay of breakfast for that reason! Unfortunately, if you took a bottle from lunch or dinner that someone else didn't drink and gave you, the waiters would run after you and tell you to pay for it. Now that's way to petty for me. The penny-pinching attitude really ruined it for me. On a boat for four days doesn't give you there's no place to escape to buy your own water. Even in some of the hotels, the range and quality of food wasn't great. This is the first Go Ahead tour that I've experienced this happening throughout the tour.
Due to the high security taken by both governments I always felt safe wherever we were taken, but it is limiting to how much you can do on your own. But, safety first!
The home visits were excellent and the their food was great! Meeting the people is always a treat for me and the families made my day. I was very happy with all the places we visited and one day hope to return to see the newly built world's largest museum in Egypt.
In Jordan, walking on the silk road to the Treasury and then to the city was magnificent. For any one taking this adventure, wear good walking shoes and bring a walking stick because you will find yourself eager to climb up into the cut-out sandstone hills. Allow yourself a good day or even two to enjoy this historic site.
I was also impressed with Egypt Air that we took for several domestic flights. Very punctual and pleasant.
All in all i really enjoyed myself and lost weight!

Great fast paced tour- Not so great Hotels

"If you are looking for an all encompassing fast pace tour, this is for you. All the major attractions are checked off and then some. With respect to the sites covered, I would have liked more time to explore Jerusalem. 7 hours are simply not enough to experience the significance of the place or to soak in the the history. My only real complaint was with the Hotels in Israel. Supposedly these were 4 and 5 star hotels. Maybe in another reality they were but from my experience, rude staff, rooms that were last renovated in the 1960's, hallways that smelled like an open sewer, (the Dan Jerusalem Hotel), balcony doors that were taped shut, (god knows why), and sub standard food do not qualify as 4 and 5 star. THE "NO-SLEEP-TOUR"

"ONLY ONE DAY did we get to sleep in till 7:30 am. 2 mornings we were up at 3 AM!! And on one of these 3 am mornings we didn't get to the hotel the night before until 8:20 pm and we hadn't had our dinner yet-so guess how much sleep we got? the other mornings where usually 5 am mornings
out of 35 people, 33 all came down with upper respiratory problems (some pretty bad colds that lingered.
On the positive side-we saw allot!! and the tour guide was fantastic! Can't say enough good about her.
But on the extension to Jordan 9 of us that I know of (and I think there were more) - got food poisoning from the restaurant that our Jordan tour guide took us to. This happens in the States but it was the lack of regard and assistance from EF go ahead tours that was appalling. I tried to change my flights because I got sick at 1:30 and I was to leave for the airport at 10 pm. I tried to change my flight based on the info and e-ticket numbers given to me by the tour company and the airline said they had no record of me.
The extra insurance that I purchased in case I got sick was useless-I paid out of pocket to see a DR in Jordan and again in France, paid for meds, blood tests and stool cultures and again when I arrived back in the US.

Israel from a Christian perspective

"What a wonderful experience. Our tour guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. The trip is very fast paced and sometimes we felt we did not have enough time at some stops, but overall it was great. As a personal note, my husband became ill on the trip and had to be hospitalized for three days. The support we received was amazing. Eventually he was able to rejoin and complete the tour and this was facilitated by the guide and tour company without complaint.
I highly recommend this tour if you want an overview of Israel from a Christian viewpoint. We could ask any question that came to mind and it was answered in a through manner with amazing insight.

South Africa and Zimbabwe

"We had a wonderful trip. Both guides, Duane and Ernest, were walking encyclopedias about their countries. The food was wonderful. The pace was fast and interesting. Our accommodations were excellent. I would recommend this trip to anyone.

I would like to make a couple of suggestions. Better care could be taken with flight choices. Our original flight plan would have taken over 40 hours to complete. Go Ahead did work with us and we ended up with 26 hours traveling time. There is an elephant sanctuary in Victoria Falls that should be added to the trip. Otherwise everything was beautiful.
