"The German Ancestry tour provided a wonderful glimpse into the lives of my ancestors. I had never been to Germany, so I enjoyed seeing highlights of the country, including Munich's Glockenspiel and all of the castles. I especially appreciated the focus on emigration museums and the opportunity to pick the brain of the professional genealogist who accompanied us on our tour (Kory Meyerink). Our tour director, Ildiko Hetesi, was extremely knowledgeable and experienced. She did a great job of telling us what to expect each day of the tour and providing background knowledge on all of the sights along the way. I did the extended tour with the extra days in Munich, but I could have happily stayed on longer. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in their ancestors' experiences in emigrating from Germany, as well as learning about the country as a whole."
"I can not say enough about this trip! So many beautiful places and tons of fun! I loved this trip, the places, the train ride, etc. it is hard to point out my favorite thing on the trip. Lake Como region, there are no words. It was relaxing as well as awesome. Cow bells in Switzerland, the Alps, the boat cruise on Lake Como Germany was beautiful and the Bell Tower was amazing, the Royal Palace beauty was beyond a lot of the palaces I have seen. Lucerne and the Chapel Bridge as well as the City is beauty that is hard to express. I can just go on and on. I highly recommend this trip!

"First Alfredo was the best guide ever! Kept us all informed and together without carrying a flag and making us feel too touristy :) Loved every place we saw and the local guides were great too especially in Rome and Naupilo! Only thing is I wish the trip was a little longer so we could enjoy the towns more personally. "
"This was my third trip with Go Ahead, and it was awesome. Greece was a bucket list trip for me and this did not disappoint. The hotels, the included meals and all the excursions were great. A major plus is that we end up in a group of people we have been with in the past, this time the group was 35 and probably 30 are people we have been with before, which just adds to the experience. And the couple of new additions quickly become friends."
"My wife and I had a great time in Italy, October 2018, visiting Venice, Florence, Rome and Sorrento, including Capri. Everything went well and orderly. We enjoyed not having to worry about planning for ourselves, except as where we could spend Euros, in dining and shopping. Our guide, Misia Massa was excellent, and was both entertaining and knowledgeable. She took care of our group like a mother hen, which we appreciated, as we are, as our two other travel companions, Seniors. Our local guides and our bus drivers were also excellent. We already booked for next November, as our companions, for the Portugal Tour. That should tell you something. Thumbs up! Thanks for making our trip easy and well worth our money. Also, we might add that Italy is a very beautiful country, and Italians are kind, loving and helpful people."
"For this trip alone, I certainly could give a full 5 stars. The only reason I am holding back is because overall, I have had some frustrations with Go Ahead. I have booked with them 3 times now and 2 of those trips needed to be rescheduled because they didn't have the minimum number of people required to go forward with the trip. When a trip is scheduled a year in advance and everything is coordinated, it's very tough to get a phone call 2 months before you're ready to leave to find out the trip is cancelled. When only one trip a month is scheduled, this becomes a real hassle to then take something that wasn't first choice.
As far as the highlights of Australia and New Zealand, this trip was amazing. A lot of flights. Personally, I went through 10 airports and 5 time zones in a 2 week period of time. Everything was coordinated nicely, no issues there, but just know it's tiring. I feel that the time lost in the airports could have been better spent seeing the country side, which is why I originally wanted the 2 weeks in New Zealand alone. I'd rather travel by bus to see more, than be on a plane.
The cities we did go to were fabulous. The excursions were definitely worth it. Our guide Luke was very informative and made certain we were on schedule and having a good time. There was a nice balance between planned activities and down time which was very helpful to keep up with the pace."
"In the 11-day tour, we covered quite a lot of territory, that I could mot have begun to do on my own. Four regions of Italy: Sicily, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania presented a spectrum of history, culture, art, and, of course, cuisine. Though the tour was called, “Food and Wine,” it could just as easily have been labeled something more academic, as the delicious local things we ate and drank were often overshadowed by the many rich museum visits, knowledgeable guided walks through restored ruins, and informed, detailed talks by our tour director, Marta, during the long bus rides from region to region. Marta was kind enough to allow me to practice my spoken Italian, which was another objective of my trip. I would most assuredly recommend this tour, particularly for those who have done the “usual tourist Italy” destinations of Rome, Florence, and Venice, and wish to broaden their knowledge of this beautiful, complex country."
"This was our first time to Ireland and Go Ahead Tours made it memorable. Our tour guide, Matthew Lyttle, was knowledgeable, fun and added extra special stops during our days. We experienced wonderful highlights of Ireland from Dublin, Cohb, Ring of Kerry and Galway. Stops and tours along the way helped us appreciate the national heritage of this beautiful country. Thank you"
"Love the tour, the group, the places, everything as planned "
"Six "besties" celebrating their 65th year chose "Go Ahead Tours" to guide and plan the party. We chose the Venice/Florence/Rome tour in October. Weather was perfect!
From the beginning you could tell their staff is well skilled, knowledgeable and service oriented. As you can imagine, 6 ladies traveling together had many questions. Some of the ladies had never traveled abroad before. Go Ahead Tours were patient with every question and offered literature, guidance and suggestions at every turn.
The Tour Directors they have do "run the show." Guliana was our Tour Director and from the very meet & greet at the airport to the final sendoff, she smiled and offered her personal knowledge and insights from being born in Italy. A true hostess....we felt like family!
If you are looking for a complete guided experience where you feel cared for, prepared and taken care of----this is your company.
Very impressed with their team and their services. We'll be back!"
"We had an absolute fantastic time on our tour. With it being our first time, we weren't sure what to expect. The hotels were perfect, the tours were fun and informative. Our tour director Mike was amazing, great sense of humor and fun to be around. We want him to do any tour we do in the future. The tour guides were excellent, both Danny and Brian knew their stuff and made it fun to learn. The sites alone speak for themselves but learning some of the history and/or gossip with it made it intriguing. Danny even went out of his way to help us on the Metro in London and rode with us most of the way to Greenwich so we didn't get lost. The arranged dinners were fun so that our group got to mingle and know one another which was very nice. A superb trip! "
"We loved every aspect of our trip. However, if I had to do it again, I'd want to spend more time in a few cities. The tour was meant to highlight the major cities we visited, and, we were impressed with how the tour was run, but, the time spent traveling by train and bus was just too much. In the future, I'd opt for leaving out one of the cities just to spend a day longer somewhere. I do applaud Go Ahead for the excellent way everything went because there were no mishaps and the group seemed very happy. We're already planning our next trip but waiting for Black Friday prices. The tour directors were highly experienced and seemed to be having fun too!"
"I enjoyed every moment! I want to give a "high five" to our tour guide Michael! He kept us on track with all activities. Michael made us feel more like family than a job. I would recommend this tour highly, especially if Michael is the tour guide! "
"It was a fun trip for my daughter and me to go on. LOVED the food! We learned many things about the south. Felt the southern hospitality every where we went. We met people from all over the states. There were a few drawbacks. Every room we stayed in didn’t have a microwave and a small refrigerator. We would have liked to have them in our room to use. The other drawback was the guide wasn’t necessary where she should have been. For example, the group toured a house and when the tour was done, the guide wasn’t around, which left the group uncertain of where to go or knowing what to do for about 7-8 minutes. Other than that, it was a great trip! I would recommend this trip to the south."
"Our tour guide was fantastic. He was knowledgeable and interesting. He really made the experience more interesting and we learned so much. Most of the local guides were excellent, as well.
Go Ahead chose a great itinerary. The food was good and most of the hotels were good. We would definitely choose Go Ahead, again. "
