"What a wonderful trip. Our overall guide was terrific, friendly, knowledgeable. Our local guides were also terrific. I loved the radios, so we could hear what the guides were saying no matter where we were standing. The buses and drivers were good. We saw and did so much. The breakfast buffets were excellent every morning. The dinners we had that were included were very good. The hotels were very nice. I highly recommend this trip to anyone. "
"We had a great time on our trip and will definitely be using Go Ahead Tours again in the future. Our Tour Guide, Christina, was really informed and made a long trip seem shorter. Sean, our driver, was a great driver and person as well. We couldn’t have asked for a better team or a more fun time. What a wonderful experience! We have been recommending Go Ahead Tours to our friends and family. Oh, and the National Parks Tour (Grand Canyon to the Yellowstone) were as stunningly beautiful as we thought it would be. We recommend the tour and the company wholeheartedly."
" We enjoyed all the walks in Provence, especially the cliffside walk. Our tour guide Thierry was very good and helpful and provided information & history of each area. Our local guide for the Cezanne's studio, Ann Marie, was excellent and it was nice to have the studio to ourselves. Our driver, Jerome, was friendly and got us around with ease.
All the villages visited were very interesting. We would have liked more time to spend in the markets and explore the villages. That will have to be another trip.
The Chateauneuf du Pape wine tasting was very good and informative, but the dinner was disappointing.
It was a great trip with a great group of travellers.
Would definitely travel with EF Go Ahead tours again.

"I had a fantastic time. Loved our tour guide Tom and Paddy our driver. The whole tour was historic and fun! Enjoyed the different hotels. Would definitely do again!"
"I liked Belgrade and actually Serbia. I could have lived without Sofia. Romania seemed like a blur. Not enough time to just explore and enjoy the area. You arrive someplace at night and eat and that's it. I went out to walk at night by myself in an effort to check things out but couldn't really do much. And in the morning we were off. I think you should tell people that the Serbian dinner is a plate of meat and a handful of fries so they know if they really want to pay for it."
"Had a wonderful time. Was my first trip to Europe and I had the best time. The people are friendly, the food was first class. The guide Tom was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He also suggested things to do on our free days. The coach driver Paddy was very polite and helpful. I just loved the whole experience from beginning to end."
"Overall, our tour was very good. Rosa, our tour guide for most of the trip - except for the last day, when she was called away by another assignment - was very personable, helpful. and knowledgeable. Our local guides were also very good - very well informed and congenial. Our group had many great experiences in Spain - a country that I had never been to before, My wife was there many years before as a college student. Our bus drivers were also excellent. They knew exactly where they were going and navigated some narrow roads and tight spots magnificently! Our tour group gave them some well-deserved applause several times. The two trips we took on Spain's high-speed trains were very good too!
We had many wonderful and memorable experiences. Since this was a food and wine tour, we visited a number of wineries and restaurants. One highlight of our trip was a cooking class, where we learned a lot about Spanish cuisine and got to enjoy the food that we had shopped for and prepared. We also visited many museums, religious sites, beautiful parks, shopping areas, and historic/cultural areas. I wish that could have had more time in some of those places, but there's never enough time to see and visit everything.
My personal, main complaint was that many of our group dinners began and ended too late. I totally understand that no one who travels should expect everything to be the same as back home. I agree with those who say that If you want everything to be the same as back home, then stay home! But in Spain, as in many other European countries, people tend to eat dinner very late and stay up late, Most the of the restaurants we visited in Spain didn't open until 8:00 or 8:30 p.m. Most nights, after enjoying a delicious group meal, we returned to our lodging and went to bed on very full stomachs about 11:30 p.m., knowing that we would have to be up early and be back on the bus by about 8:30 a.m. As a result, I did suffer from digestive distress for much of the trip. I'm used to eating about 7:00 p.m., then taking a walk and going to bed between 10:30 and 11:00 p.m. If you go on this trip, you might want to adjust your eating/digestive schedule accordingly ahead of time.
Overall, the trip was very good and I would recommend taking it.

"Beautiful cities, great hotels, and a tour leader who was exceptional. It was my first trip to Spain and I got a very good feel for the country and its fascinating history."
"Great organization, great guides, great people, and a lifetime experience."
"I usually travel alone but this time I chose Go Ahead Tours to experience Greece. It was an amazing time.We learned so much about Greek history and saw a lot of the beauty of the country.
+ side:We were 23 people, had good hotels, good food and Kostas was our travel guide. I wish every tour could have him.He took very good care of all of us.He was very informative, respectful ,friendly and he cared very much that we had a good experience.
- side:I felt too rushed.Usually up at 6-30 am,,breakfast and then off in the bus at 8 -8:30 am.In the bus driving around seeing places to around 4 pm.There was very little time to relax and check out the towns on our own.We usually stayed in hotels a bit out of town,so we had to take a cab if we wanted to go there. It would have been nicer if we had stayed closer to towns. Also we got very little time to go shopping or check out the town.Specially in Corfu we could have had a day off where we could just hang out. The villa we saw was a waste of time. Nice to look at but the inside was very drab and uninteresting. we could have gone to the beach or enjoyed the little town.it would almost have been"a day off" !!
Also you are told that you have about 2 hours of walking on uneven ground and up hills...well you do ,but it is not small hills and it is many stairs...often high ones and many of them to get to all the Akropolis you visit. If you are older it is tough. There are no elevators! and they are all on top of a mountain of sorts
I had a great time and I will wholeheartedly recommend it.It was definitely an experience I will not forget...
I just wished it had given us more free time."
"We have been traveling with EF tours and Go Ahead tours for over 20 years and this tour was one of my favorites of all time! Truly a "hidden gem" of a tour! I didn't really know what to expect of Croatia, Slovenia. Bosnia, and Montenegro. These are not your typical countries that Americans go touring, but I really do recommend you consider this trip in your travels! What a delight! The dalmatian coast is an absolute beauty, truly stunning. Not to be missed! The history and culture was a marvelous treat to explore! I just had no idea of the immense history and stunning scenery of the whole area as I am sure the rest of my traveling companions would agree. So much to see and learn from the very ancient days to the new culture living amongst the old world cities. The tour was well planned as always. Good clean and comfortable hotels, good food, excellent guides who really went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of as well as being very informative and educational. The weather was just beautiful, perfect in October. Sunny days, perfect temps. October is the "shoulder season", so the crowds were much less than in the summer. Just go, you will be happy you did."
"My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to the City of Light, thanks in large part to our tour director, Patrick Long, who anticipated and prepared for the needs of our group. Patrick was a wealth of information and gave the group a lesson on how to use the metro by taking us to the charming neighborhood of Montmartre. After that, we felt well equipped to get around Paris on our own. The Paris Metro is efficient and easy to use after someone shows you the ins and outs. Traffic is horrendous, so taking the metro saves a lot of time. We loved the excursions to Giverny and Versailles. The gardens of Giverny were still stunning in early October. Unfortunately, there was not much color left in the gardens of Versailles, but the layout of the formal gardens was impressive, as was the palace. We enjoyed the bus tour of Paris on our first morning. The city guides were knowledgeable and entertaining. Our hotel was in a good location in Montparnasse, close to three metro stops, a Monoprix (the French Version of Target), and lots of bistros and cafes. We visited the Louvre and saw the Mona Lisa on our own on Wednesday when it’s open late. The Luxembourg Garden was within easy walking distance of the hotel, and we enjoyed a sunny afternoon there. I highly recommend a stop at Angelina for their decadent hot chocolate and signature Mont Blanc pastry! Pickpockets are a HUGE problem in Paris. I had been forewarned and bought a slash-proof, cable reinforced Travelon crossbody bag with locking zippers that was also RFID protected. I highly recommend using a crossbody bag and a money belt so as not to become a pickpocket victim. We had such an enjoyable time that we plan to return to Paris!"
"This tour is a great way to see the nooks and crannies of Tuscany. It balances the major jewels that everyone knows - Florence and Siena - with many smaller hill towns where you are part of the local scene. There is a delightful daily balance of sight seeing and winery tours. And the concept of a light lunch would be a three course delight in many places.
I wouldn't hesitate do take the tour again. There is always more to see in Tuscany."
"Our guide Marta was wonderful! Everything was perfect. Just one thing I would change is the hotel in Athens. It is in between two nightclubs so you hear the music all night"
"My husband and I went on a tour with Go Ahead Tours for the first time. We had a great experience! Our tour guide was very efficient and very informative about our whole tour. We couldn't have asked for a better bus driver either. My husband was not sure he was going to like taking trips on a tour but we had such a wonderful time and now he wants to go on another one!"
