"I ordered $500 Christmas gifts going to 5 difference families on 12/12/19 today i got an email that one item was back ordered even though when i place order it was showing in stock ready to ship.
Also the web site is very hard to navigate and the information on the screen is not what CS person confirmed was shipped etc.
I will not be using this company for any future gift giving."
"I purchased an outdoor 7 1/2’ Synchronized Musical Pixel Tree. I was so excited to add this to my Christmas light display. I set it up on Thanksgiving and plugged it in only 1 strand of the lights came on. I called Hammacher and talked with a customer service person. The gentleman on the phone was very helpful and apologetic. They no longer had any of these trees available so my only choice was to send it back for a credit. It took 2 weeks for my credit to appear on my card. I purchased the tree for 464.54 and was only refunded 416.69. It only cost me 47.85 to realize that I really need to stay away from these catalog merchants and stick with Amazon where they truly care about their customers. I would not recommend this company to anyone they cost me 50 bucks and a couple of hours of time. I would have rather given my time and money to someone in need. "
"The HS Institute states rigorous testing methodology. HS sells AcuRite weather stations. I purchased three AcuRite Weather stations from AcuRite for three of my homes. All three stations failed after a year or two. AcuRite sells an inferior product. Consequently I question any product sold by HS because their testing institute is a joke."
"I will never attempt to purchase another item from this company. On November 18, I ordered a large major toy for my grandson, not surprisingly in anticipation for Christmas. About a week after that I went onto their website to "track" my order, and the website said it had been shipped, but gave no further details. So today, 12/4, I tried again on the tracking website. To my frustration it said the same thing, so I called customer service to talk with a live person. When she checked HER end of the system, she determined that this item was on back order!!!! She told me that there was no way I could get this before Xmas. AT NO TIME prior did the company give me any indication this product was unavailable. The status always showed as "shipped". They clearly LIED about that. Had I not persisted, Christmas would have arrived without this major toy. I canceled my order, and will not be back for a second trial."
"I ordered a roomba about a year and a half ago. It stopped charging. I purchased from Hammacher Schlemmer even though their price was about $100 more than everywhere else because of their lifetime guarantee. Roomba broke and I called. They told me they would charge $10 for returning it and then send me a new one. They no longer have the version I had so I upgraded. The difference was $75 from the old to the new one. Well I was not told they were charging me anything but the difference but I get charged $177. The extra almost $100 is for shipping and taxes. For $200 I could have bought a new one anyway. Now I have $541 in a roomba that sells elsewhere for $200. This is the most ridiculous scam ever! Do NOT waste your money or time! "
"My husband bought an expensive alarm clock/sound machine for me that broke. I returned it and was told they would mail me an equivalent sound machine. What they sent me was not travel size like I asked. So I returned second item. Today I was told they charges me $11.95 shipping for both items, and a $10.95 return fee for both items and that out of my first purchase of $89.95 I would get $11.99 back to my credit card and they put it on the wrong credit card!! Then I was told they couldn't reimburse me back to the correct credit card as the other credit card is no longer in existence. This is ridiculous. We will never order from them again."

"Interesting catalogue-but wife ordered a product- over $100- quality nvqui what xpectd but acceptable had size been right- returned due to size issue and requested replacement- rcvd bill for 429 for shipment /okie- all homer service to complain- was told it would be taken care of -After second call and nonreturned product- called to request cancellation and refund- was told this would be done after 3 more requests and no refund- called our credit card company to dispute- they immediately issued credit- if I was credit card company I would refuse to accept transactions from-HS- after looking at reviews, I guess this is sop for HS- supposedly an employee owned company- if management is looking for reason they are failing- take a look in the mirror."
"VERY disappointed! We had to send the floating Christmas tree only to get a second one that did not work. Called their customer service number where we had to wait 45 minutes only to get disconnected. We called back waited another 45 minutes only to be told they were going to escalate the problem and a manager will call us back. Over a week goes by and no call. We finally received a call after my wife wrote a scathing email to the company. I informed them that the tree is getting send back, we want a full refund and it will be the last time we are dealing with this company. Think twice before you buy their very expensive stuff!!"
"I purchased 2 #92352 7FT Holiday Dicken's style Lamp Posts. They came slightly damaged. I assembled them anyway and five minutes after I put them on my porch they fell over and completely broke apart. They are advertised to be weighted and sturdy. The wind that blew them over was 8mph. They are garbage, do not waste your money on them. I paid $423.00 thinking they would be sturdy and last me for years. They are worth about $25.00 if that.
I emailed customer service one week ago and still no response. I called yesterday, waited on hold for 75 minutes, and I'm not exaggerating. The representative said someone would call me the same day... still no call.
This is an awful company, one that obviously does not stand by their products. They have no honor.

"I used to love shopping at Hammacher Schlemmer. No more! In the last year or so, every item I purchased was defective and the only thing customer service was able to do is tell me to send it back. Most recently I purchased a blow up santa for outside that cost a few hundred dollars. It came from china with no adapter to plug it in! Customer service told me to buy my own adapter or send it back! Then they said if I sent it back there were no more to replace it with. The gals at the front desk of customer service were great but their hands are tied by poor management and supply organization. This was a big, heavy package and it was not easy to get it in and out of my car to send it back. So disappointed. Won't be shopping there again. "
"My package was not delivered on time on three occasions as promised. (In fact, it has not been delivered as of yet.) On each occasion I called to find out why my package was late, and was given a different excuse each time. Additionally, I asked to speak to the customer service department head, and was given three different people who each lied about their title. (They were merely customer service representatives in the U.S. versus Central America.) Hammacher Schlemmer really deserves a zero star rating because they cannot to be trusted."
"This used to be an extremely reputable company with great customer service, but no longer. I ordered a birthday present for my nephew, which according to standard shipment information was supposed to be delivered within 3 - 5 business days. In fact, it turned out, the company had sent the package the cheapest possible way (Smartpost), where the standard delivery is 7 - 10 business days. My nephew will not get his present on time, and the company continues to falsely advertise its shipping policies. If you are going to use an economy shipping service, be up front about this and advertise the actual time of delivery so that customers can make an informed decision. After dealing with customer service for 45 minutes, I am frustrated and disappointed. I will not be ordering from Hammacher Schlemmer again."
