"The last 2 experiences with Herrschners were unacceptable and will never purchase from them again. I had an blanket kit that didn't have enough of the main color to finish the blanket and had to argue with them to get a n additional skein where there was way too much of the other colors. And my last purchase they colors depicted for a hook rug looked nothing like what I received and they refused to exchange. So many other far better vendors for yarn. Do not use them. "
"Herrschners is the worst craft company I've ever bought from. They offered their Cross-Stitch Christmas for you preview prior to buying, letting you know that you can return it if you don't like it. Then they hound you with statements requiring payment and neglect the portion where they offered to return it. They charge way too much for sub-par products, they harass customers, and provide false advertising. I won't be buying from them again."
"If you order something electronic like a pattern, no problem. If you order something that need to be shipped, forget it. I order a small kit for a mini blanket with an elephant head on the 26th of December. Today is the 2nd of February and it is not even shipped yet. They had the Christmas excuse, then the black Friday excuse, now what????? First and last time"
"I paid 20$ in shipping to Canada. The courier, Landmark Global, they hired added a surcharge of 14$. which I had to pay when I was forced to pick up parcel at the post office.
I had paid agreed shipping at the time of purchase and consider it their responsibility to pay the charge their courier incurred.
Their business practice towards me was dishonest"
"They offer items thro don't have in-stock, customer service departments does not care and they do not stand by their products because they know the quality is lacking. Their house brand yarn is rough, scratchy and plain nasty. Too many other places that sell good products, go there instead.

"Ordered the Deidra Afghan crochet kit, and liked the yarn and its color. The instructions are a hot mess. Seems like Herrschners cut and pasted from other sources, but kept a bunch of stitches which (the technician will clarify) should not have been included. Some of the lines are ambiguous, and because they are in a 3-column one-page format, there is a lot of zigzag-reading across the columns. The technical assistant wasn't helpful enough; no return allowed since package was opened, and no other remedy offered. After struggling to read them, then rewrite them, I decided I'd rather get on with crocheting. So, thankfully, I found a much better pattern for free online, and I will restart my project with that instead. Sady, I won't purchase from Herrschners again. :( "
"In the past, I have received yarn that was damp and smelled horrible.
Recently, I ordered a cross stitch kit and it was in another language. They would not accept a return since it was opened. Even the color chart was in another language. Impossible to work a kit you don’t understand. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS! Beware of using this company. "
"I bought an embroidery kit of a table runner and 4 napkins and it arrived without thread. I bought the thread and paid shipping again which cost as much as the thread. No needle. No way of buying more napkins. No customer service satisfaction (such as refunding the second shipping charge)- just an argument. "
"I ordered Herrschners online mystery mill ends deal with decent success, so I decided to give their annual warehouse sale a try after seeing it promoted by a Youtube influencer.
Unfortunately, they do not (or did not during this sale) update their website in real time with which products were in-stock. I was able to pay for and finalize my order with multiple products that ultimately ended up being out of stock, yet they continued to show as available on Herrschners' website for more than a week after my incomplete order was shipped to me (which took a week+ to ship after payment).
Now, a month later, after reaching out to customer service myself to confirm if the missing items are still set to be back in stock this Thursday July 8th, I was now told that they "have no clue when or if they'll ever be back in-stock, let alone ship out".
Not only were these items I had paid for out of stock, but Herrschners didn't bother to proactively communicate to me that items would be missing from my delivered order or when I might expect to receive the missing items. I had to hunt down this info on my own. And once again today, Herrschners didn't proactively communicate to me that the original in-stock date was now no longer valid, rather they have no clue if they'll be able to send me my items. I had to initiate the communication.
While I do appreciate that Herrschners may have been overwhelmed by the success that this sale achieved and were not prepared to handle the volume of orders it produced, effective customer service that communicates these short comings in a timely manner does go a long way. The customer service reps I interacted with clearly did not care about the missing items and Herrschners short comings in the situation. Had there been any remorse, apology, or proactive communication attempts made to let me know what was happening with my order, I would be willing to give them another chance but none of that has happened.
Just a word of warning to others for future sales, don't get too excited for any of their products until it actually arrives on your doorstep."
"I lost my pattern and they told me 2 different ways for me to get a new one and then told me they couldn't give me a new one at all. I ended up having to buy a new kit, photo copying the pattern and then returning it just to get a sheet of paper. Awful customer service. You'd think if you paid the money for a kit they would help you with a missing pattern when you have proof of purchase."
"First you wouldn’t give me my $42 back for a return that the cross stitches were too small for my old eyes to see. You said I must have left it in the sun and it faded. I didn’t get the sewing back or my $42. I swore I would never buy anything from you again but I did and I got burned again. The instructions for the Wreath Terry Towel pair isn’t the right instructions for the towels. The colors are all in the wrong places. NEVER NEVER again will I buy anything from you."
"Worst service ever. Customer service is not helpful. Was told package got lost in Union City Ca. I live in Sacramento, Ca. Constantly getting the run around awaiting a call from manager. We are going around in circles about this order. Will never order from this company again. Yet to receive merchandise."
"I ordered an ornament kit. I was short a piece and emailed my problem to customer service. They responded quickly and fixed my problem immediately. I have never had such great customer service with no hassles. They are the best and I will continue to buy all of my craft projects from them!
"
"Ordered yarn the 23rd of last month, still have yet to receive it. Tracking didn’t update for nearly 2 weeks. UPS showed it didn’t exist, USPS didn’t show it in their network.. When I’ve emailed , all but 1 time I received an automated email telling me the date it shipped, and the tracking number. Super helpful. I stopped receiving emails after I asked for my money back, so we’ll see if my order ever shows up. Will NEVER order from this company again. "
"I've spent so much money on crochet kits from this company. Besides the poor yarn quality and errors in patterns, this company does not provide quality kits and does not stand behind their own products. The last 2 afghan kits I purchased did not have enough yarn (by a long stretch) to finish the afghan. In both cases, after providing proof of purchase, the company refused to supply the missing yarn or offer any apology, much less a discount on a future purchase. If they can't back up their own products, why should we trust them? I haven't ordered from them in 3 years, and will not do so in future."
