"They are unreliable, rude and no to be trusted.
They promised to refund me, more than a month ago, still no product or refund."
"Ordered on the 18th of December , it’s now the 30 of December and my order hasn’t left their store , 3 phone calls later and being told it’s on its way and only just got confirmation from auspost it ready to be picked up , avoid if possible they’re slow and they lie "
"The above says it all
Very poor communication
Conflicting reports in email form after much prompting
Never answers phone (all lines are busy will ring back) didn’t happen
Due to the above I then contacted my credit card company with view of cancelling due to lack of service
Finally after 2and half weeks my watch arrived
Then to receive email from supplier with the caption apologies for experiencing the service only to blame it on Covid-19
Rubbish could of been kept up to date during this process ie phone/ email without the BS"
"DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM OR YOU WILL REGRET IT.
I seem to have discovered that they are frauds within a very short period of time and rang my bank immediately and filed a fraudulent transaction claim against them, whereas it seems other customers kept giving them the benefit of the doubt for some weeks.
I wish I had done a google review of this company – Highly Tuned Athletes before I bought a tried to purchase a Garmin Fenix 6 Sapphire watch for a surprise Wedding Anniversary present for my husband 2 days ago.
I was lured by the amazing price and the offer of free express postage, never again.
Now that I have discovered all the other extremely bad reviews and A Current Affair having done a story on the owner 4 months ago, I feel vindicated with my own experience with this disgusting company.
Although it seems I was lucky to actually speak to someone from the company, well 2 different people in one day who were just as rude and patronising as one another.
2 days ago I finally decided on the Garmin Fenix I wanted to buy and received the usual stand Order confirmation email and then another email with my tax invoice which is pretty standard.
Later that day I received yet another email asking for me to verify my purchase with my mobile phone number, well I did not realise that I needed to place +61 in front of it and it didn’t verify so I sent the company an email stating as such and that it had been approved on my credit card.
I rang the store the next day and spoke to a very rude individual who did not provide his name, who then accused me of being dodgy and that my institution was not legitimate I thought he meant my bank but I think he meant my email address.
Ah, mate I work for an elite Private School in Brisbane and he kept saying my url was wrong.
So, ask me my correct email address if you need to. I thought I had entered in my email address wrong and I have just checked my tax invoice and it has the correct email address and if I had typed in the wrong email how would I have received the companies 4 emails that they sent me. I thought I was going crazy, but I was not.
THEY ARE COMPLETE FRAUDS.
I rang later in the afternoon and spoke to another person as I had received the 4th and final email from them stating the following:
We were unable to take your call on Tuesday as we close at 3pm on Tuesdays.
The reason for verification is because on this occasion our credit card merchant identified the transaction as high risk including around you supplying an unregistered email domain (.qld.rdu.au) to place the order. Along with other factors it has been marked as the highest risk. I suspect that you may have purchased at work or similar. The system will pick up these cues and flag high-value items as potential risks to us here as fraudulent transactions based on historical methods used by online scams. This is not to say you are, it is merely to highlight that as a business the risks of a charge-back are too high for us to absorb.
Regardless, our system sought to gain verification which has not been successfully completed and as you have confirmed, your mobile number is "not working".
Therefore we unable to proceed with this order due to the High Risk as identified and recommended by our Credit Card Merchant.
A full refund is being arranged. This may take up to 5 business days to process through the banking system.

Customer Service
I am now certain that this story of me having a wrong email address was a cover to cancel my order, BECAUSE they did not have the watch in stock.
It could have been the same person or someone different because they do not answer the phone in a professional manner of stating their name.
This man was even ruder than the first and the conversation became very heated and I was becoming very frustrated and ended the conversation with a few swear words, which was not good.
Unfortunately, it did not stop there. I was determined to buy the watch and found it on the MyDeal.com.au website for $49 more than the original one on their website. I placed the order and low and behold I receive another email from MyDeal stating the company has cancelled my order and who should that company be, one in the same – Highly Tuned Athletes. It never stated this when I purchased it and I thought I was buying it directly from MyDeal.com.au
Now this company is holding $2,327 of my money. I was accused of being dodgy and a scammer by these wankers. All good though, my bank will sort these losers out and reclaim my money.
I will be contacting the ACCC and any other organisation that I can think of that deals with companies like yours, enjoy.

"My experience was excellent no complaints at all. Great service thank you"
"I needed to replace the band on my Garmin Forerunner and have always used HTA as my 'go-to' store for anything sport/training related, in regard to this sort of equipment. Their range is the best and the knowledge and experience of the staff regarding their product is, in my opinion, excellent. Anyway, I duly got my replacement only to find the keep on the band broke on me 4 days later. The same thing happened to me 3 more times, clearly a fault with the product batch - but on each occasion HTA were happy and obliging in providing me with a replacement free of charge. I was most appreciative of this and the way I was handled and helped with this matter. Sadly a new band has not helped me run any quicker."
"I purchased a Garmin watch that took 3 months of relentless following up to receive. Based on the other reviews that i'm reading, i appear to be lucky to have actually gotten mine. No communication, no response to emails, no returned calls (because he never, ever answers the phone). It was absolutely awful.
The following piece tells the story:

"Purchased in December a Garmin watch for my husbands birthday in January. It never arrived. After countless calls to the store with no answer and no way to leave a message as message bank was full, I emailed.
I received a response to my shock telling me that they were sorry for the delay and had been affected by the bush fires and my watch would be sent by the end of that week!
I felt terrible and of course said safety comes first so completely understood. My husband then did some research and we were both blown away by the amount of reviews with people in the exact same position as us! Paid with no product received, dating back over a year ago.
We then did a little more research to find that the store is in suburbia and was not in any way affected by the fires. We were disgusted that we were given an excuse like that when there were people actually affected by the fires!
Luckily I paid with PayPal and received a full refund.
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!! "
"I placed an internet order with HTA on 1 December 2019 in the hope of receiving the products before Christmas. The latest communication from HTA was on 12 December saying that my order "has been fulfilled and is ready.......to be picked up by Australia Post". the order has still not arrived and my 3 e.mails (between mid December 2019 and end January 2020) requesting clarification remain unanswered. Numerous attempts to contact HTA by phone have gone to voicemail, despite all of these being within the advertised hours of business. I have even tried to make contact with the proprietor, Robert Grinter via his contact details as Deputy Mayor of Bayside City Council.......but also to no avail. Pity I had to give a one star rating as he deserves a zero or negative!"
"I ordered a Garmin 530 Bundle and waited over a month for it to arrive. At the time of purchase there was no indication that it was not in stock. Online orders are ready to be picked up in 20 minutes - their website says. However I suspect they were very much out of stock and waiting for the shipment to arrive.
I called and left 2 voicemail messages and wrote 3 emails during the month that I waited for my order to arrive. I received no calls or emails to say what was happening. A simple update message would have been fantastic but all too hard apparently.
There's no chance I will be buying anything from HTA again. I strongly suggest you think otherwise also!"
"The store is only interested in the initial sale. You will never have calls or emails returned. I have seldom been so disappointed in what I experienced in November 2019. The simple fact is that there is no customer service. I acknowledge the website is very professional looking but don’t be fooled by this as if you experience any issue whatsoever after you have paid your money, you will be met with SILENCE.
I WILL NEVER SHOP AT THIS STORE AGAIN."
"I purchased a Garmin watch on 29/12/19 through the website as there was no mention of delays or business closing over Xmas new year break. On the 6th Jan 20 I sent an email to customer service Requesting an update & received a response the next day saying they were on unexpected leave due to the vic fires & my order should be dispatched by end of week. Horrible times for all & happy to be flexible/understanding, as long as I’m kept in the loop. Heard nothing regarding dispatch so I sent another email (14/01/20) asking for an update & also called leaving a message on Voicemail & as of today 20/01/20 I have not had a single response! Most terrible online purchase I have experienced & will NOT be making another purchase with this company, I’ll be ensuring everyone I know is aware of this company’s poor customer service. The retail ombudsmen is my next point of contact if my call is not answered tomorrow. "
"I ordered a number of Garmin products from Highly Tuned Athletes on 2nd January 2020 and received a order confirmation and invoice on the same day. I sent their customer service team an email on the same day asking for the items to be shipped straight away as I needed them for a coming trip. I tried to ring the Store on both 3rd and 4th of Jan to follow up on my request for fast shipping but the phone went to voicemail. I tried to make contact again with them on the 6th and 7th Jan advising them that I was flying out on the 12th Jan and had ordered the items specifically for that trip and that they either needed to commit to shipping the items immediately or cancel the order and provide me with a refund. I received a reply from HTA customer Service on the 8th saying that they had been affected by the bushfires and were reopening the store on Friday 10th and would try to ship the items to me on the 10th which would have been too late for me to receive for me trip on the 12th. I sent HTA another email on 9th cancelling the order and asking for a refund to be processed before I flew out as I needed to funds for my travel. I have sent a follow up email every day since with no reply and it is now the 13th Jan and the HTA team are obviously back at work as I have been receiving promotional emails every day for the last few days but they still haven’t done anything to process my refund. I buy many items on-line and I would rate these guys as the worst supplier that I have ever dealt with. Although they have a strong presence on-line this is a very dodgy business and I suspect that they are using customers monies for purposes other than suppling the items purchased."
"I ordered online a Garmin 530 29th Dec 2019 the next day I received via email with an invoice & information that the product would be sent via Australian post express mail. It is now 7th Jan 2010 & I have phoned & left messages as the phone is never answered.I have also sent emails again without reply. I was going to order another product. I am in Qld Gold Coast & this company is in Melb Victoria"
"Have purchased a Garmin watch though eBay on 11/12/19 with expected delivery by 16-18th Dec. I still have not received it and have called the store with no reply call and sent 5 emails with no response. Would never recommend anyone purchase through this store. I have never had such a bad experience with online purchasing. "
