"I can't tell if the shoes would even be marginally comfortable because I can't even get them on. I ordered the size I wear in many other brands and these were NOT 2E shoes. I'm guessing they get a cut from the unreasonable shipping they charge.

"Terrible shoes terrible. These are cheaply made in Mexico and they're asking for quite a high price. The craftsmanship was terrible there was adhesive on the leather and other spots they were already creasing and the shoes were completely dusty?? Then, they will not take shoes back even if they're defective as far as returning your postage I paid $22 plus for the privilege of wasting my time shopping wasting a long time getting them wasting time going back to the mail and taping things up then getting charged for this garbage stay far away these people should not be in business and should be sued"
"Ordered 9 4E boots and received a 9W and couldn't get my foot inside of them. I requested return postage for the boots since it was their mistake. I also requested the original shipping to be reimbursed because it was their mistake. Original shipping was $14.95 and return shipping was $29.64 for a total of $44.59.
They had the balls to send me this: 2/15/2022 8:26:59 AM : We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with your recent purchase. Upon receipt of your return the boots were compared to stock and they are the correct size. That is how our manufacturer marks the boots, however, we test fit all of our styles and they measure a 4E width, so we would not be able to honor your request for Return Postage. We truly apologize for your disappointment.
You know, it's hard enough trying to find a site that sells wide shoes and then to have them steal from you...that's just another level. Low life scum."

"Ordered snow boots from this WIDE foot shoe store. I'm a true to size 12 4E. The boots I received were so tight as to be unwearable. When I called to complain the customer service rep told me it was probably because of the liner which makes them run small... WHAT! I explained that nowhere is that info available before the purchase. They would not budge on refunding my shipping which now adds up to $25.
I was contacted by the owner who acknowledged that the info was not adequate and I was told they were changing it to be more accurate. So, they admit their error but still think it's reasonable that I pay for the shipping BOTH ways. I can't imagine how they are still in business. Not surprised to see so many poor reviews."
"Purchased a propet blizzard walker shoe that was supposed to be waterproof with self cleaning traction rubber. The shoes leaked from the second time I wore them and the traction lugs attracted dirt. These are poor quality shoes."

"On 4/9/18 I ordered new work boot (note work boot -----wear everyday) and returned on 7/26/18 because the sole was coming apart. After 4 weeks I called to find out the status of the boot and was told they wouldn't cover them because they were worn. I have been ordering my work boots from them for 10 + years and have had 2 problems with the boots one with the stitching (not covered) and and the new shoes I received (2018) the sole is coming apart. They have now tried to tell me the last shoes I ordered was in 2016 and they would not cover since they are had been worn to long (2016) I had the receipt right in front of me and after talking to the unfriendly lady (Susanne) and offering to send a pic of the boots from 2016 she put me on hold and came back and said they would cement the sole and send my new $200 C18-220007 Shock Absorber Boot back. After this I looked up the BBB and found poor rating there too. Their customer service is really bad and not a pleasant experience with the unfriendly lady."
"Very happy with their shoes and service. My dad is a happy 89 guy who can go on his daily walks with a smile again! It took a couple of tries to figure out which brands would work for him and sizing, but their customer services was great, always willing to answer my questions. I was a bit annoyed I had to pay for shipping (so 4 stars out of 5), but I'd rather give my money to USPS and Hitchcock than those huge e-retailers. Plus, you can speak to a human being at Hitchcock during regular business hours. "
"What has happened to the wide-shoe source I've enjoyed for a quarter of a century? The training sneakers that once lasted years cross-country six miles a day in all weather now fall apart in six months. The last moccasins split in half across the sole ... unrepairable. And the replacement I received in the mail today, well, under the same style number, they changed the top leather from smooth deep brown polished to a pimply pig skin smeared with what I guess to be stove black -- soot from an old coal stove chimney. To top off the disgrace, Hitchcock charged double for shipping over what USPS claims was the actual mailing cost. They're winning a down hill race from best to worst. Ya can tell by the scattering shoe parts along the road."

"DO NOT Order anything from HITCHCROOK!!!!!One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever dealt with in my life. I returned a pair of sneakers that I wore for a couple of months which had terrible tears in both heals of the shoes. The shoes were so bad it made them unwearable. I paid $10 shipping to return the shoes and was told by a "35 year experienced professional" that it was my fault for getting a size too big. I told her that I have been wearing 9 1/2 for over 20 years and never experienced this type of problem in any of my shoes. So basically they didn't want to help me out in any way. They offered me a measly $20 refund or my shoes back? WOW!! A proper well established company would have either refunded my order or just sent me a replacement pair of sneakers equal to the price I paid. Why would you lose a customer and make me unhappy for a pair of sneakers that were clearly defected? I just don't get it? I will be writing on all social media about how horrible customer service HITCHCROOK is. "
"I made the mistake of ordering shoes from Hitchcock Shoes because I have very wide feet and didn't have time to go running around trying to find something that fit in a store. I placed a $200. order. The order was promptly shipped however, the overall quality of the shoes screamed Payless...not the high quality shoes I expected. One pair fit fine, the other was tiny by comparison and didn't even begin to go on my foot but I thought, no problem...they'll fix it. Why wouldn't they with their margins? Well quality is one thing, correct sizing is another and both of these can overlooked if you receive quality customer service. Fail that and you are shoe loser. Guess what, Hitchcock Shoes is named after the nightmarish horror filmmaker Alfred. Atrocious customer care, they force you to ship the shoes back (you pay return shipping) before replacing them or reimbursing you unlike other companies who issue a call tag and have UPS pick em up at no charge to the consumer. Their shipping charges on the original invoice would have covered shipping to and from me. So I learned the hard way that Hitchcock Shoes is a portal to Hell and I hate them, heart and sole. Keep shopping and find a retailer that treats customers right, ships the proper items and fixes their mistakes. Hitchcock is for The Birds."
