Hoverboard - Broke 1st week

"Purchased a Hoverboard in March 2017 and it would not charge after a week. Called to return and they refused to create an RMA saying that " it worked when it left the warehouse". Complained to BBB. My so lost over $120 the cost of the hoverboard. Very poor customer service and shady business practices. "

This company is a scam!!!!

"This company steals money from people and doesn't provide the products they promise or advertise. They don't stand behind the products they sell and give people the run around. They take peoples money and make you fill out some crap paperwork only to tell you to wait 8-10 business days to see if they are going to honor the warranty they advertise on the internet. Their customer service isn't friendly. All in all save you money and spend it at a company that stands behind their product. in my opinion they rob young kids of their money. Bought on 7/6/17 received 7/11/17 called 7/11/17 to tell them product was missing items and that the product was defective. "

HOBBYTRON,Should i take a chance ?

"I see a lot of negative comments on consumer affaire website about Hobbytron and i know for a facts that most positve comments here are fake,They are comments from Hobbytron workers,friends,family and people who got free stuff to write a review ... I know that theres a few REAL positive reviews but not a lot ... Now should i take a chance with Hobbytron ? I had to stop working cause i got really sick so i need to keep busy,I started to play with drones and fell in love with them.Now i dont have a lot of $$ and their prices are very low ... but they treat customers like trash (Was with a friend when he recorded many phone calls) If i get a non working toy I have to pay to send it back and if i opened the box they wont give me my $$ back How am i supposed to know if the item works if i dont get it out of the box? A lot of people are having problems to get their money back or to get the item fixed ... But if i buy something i dont want to get it fixed BEFORE i can play with it ... I want it to be functionnal out of the box ... So i dont know what should i do ... I think i will get a less than 10$ RC so if it's broke i wont lose too much but for expensive RC's i wont take a chance .... I sent them a Email a few days ago with a simple question and still waiting for an answer .......

Worthless Products

"I really hate this company. I bought a Hercules Unbreakable helicopter for my son's birthday. It had a short in the wire so I sent it back. I was not reimbursed for the return shipping. I was sent another helicopter & it worked once & stopped. They have a no refund policy, only offers repair or replacement. Do not buy from this company unless you want to lose money & be disappointed. "

Not allow to review questionable products even after purchasing

"Out of the 5 Aircraft I purchased the 2 medium sized 17" helicopters (World Tech) failed to fly on the first try. They were returned although Hobby Tron won't reimburse for the shipping even though they didn't work fresh out of the box. I was refurbished and still didn't work."

from start to finish a disaster

"I ordered a drone for a Christmas present to my supervisor at work. We usually chip in and by him a gift certificate for a restaurant, but he is a gadget type guy and we thought it would be a great gift . Advertisement stated 199.for a 499. drone . I went online and ordered it about 9:00pm. , The next evening after work I called to make sure it was sent because Christmas was in another few days so When I called Hobby,Tron about 9:00pm the next evening they could not see that my order was confirmed so I ordered another one but this time I put a overnight shipping approx 88 dollars because Christmas eve is approaching and needed to get gift by then.
So the next day I received the dron w/ the overnight shipping and the following day another drone / the first one ordered came.Which was not ordered per phone call w/ hobby trom... So now we need to return the dron and when we called hobby tron said we cant give u back the 88 dollars shipping .So ok we lost the 88 dollars shipping and we had to pay ups 57.00 to ship back the dron plus 20 %per cent restocking fee that my nightmare and terrible direction from hobby tron.
Then we gave the gift and the first flight that my boss used his dron with in 5 minutes the motor blew / burnt out and when he said he will return it and upgrade hobby tron said no returns on open boxes send it to them and they will repair ,Well now its costing him 57 dollars to ship to have repaired .. PLEASE DO NOT BY FROM HOBBY TROM ....... Go on amazon at by were you can return w/o a huge restocking fee and shipping fees .
Also when I called the other day to ask if my little refund was sent to my bank and they told me it was sent the operator asked if theirs anything else she can do and I said I would like to speak to a supervisor she said hold please and I held, and held, and held and held for 20 minutes w/o getting anyone on the phone the only good thing that came of this was while I was waiting the played good music hahaha
dis satisfied customer unless I can get my full refund and hobby tron should pay for all shipping

Worst ever service. 1 STAR TOO HIGH. BUYERS BEWARE!!!

"Buyers Beware. Worst experience with Katie L. on their live chat. I ordered 2 drones for my grandkids Christmas. One was fine the other has a faulty toggle and is missing the sim card and screen never came on. I was told 6 weeks to replace. I said I could drive there. She said not open to public. I said can you express ship. She said NO. I said I want my money back. She said did you open the shipping package or box. Of course I did. No refund if you open package. I then questioned how would you know if it had a manufacture default before you open it. She said to read the info I signed. I asked to speak to a manager, she said she was. I asked to speak to an owner, she said no. I said may I have their contact #, she said we don't give it out. I asked "not even an email" NOPE. I asked her to call me...she said she was busy.....I could call them. I said I would wait til she was off the other line. She said Goodbye have a happy new year.
I called and got stuck in a phone loop.

I GAVE IN.....Sure just what they want....I filled out a form to get an email letting me know how to proceed forward. It says up to 14 business days.. (that is 3 weeks) then I ship it, then once they get it they will decide IF they agree it is manufacturer damage. Then IF they decide they are sending me a new one it will take up to 6 weeks to ship. I HAVE NEVER RECIEVED SUCH HORRIBLE SERVICE.....EVER. In the meantime....my Grandson (7yrs old) got a broken gift and little hope of resolution any time soon. I will be the first person to change this review if they make it right.

No refund! Horrible customer service. PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING

"On the phone they were great. Nice, helpful, etc. Upon a second call in the next person I talked to gave me completely different specs on a drone. Started to worry me but I assured myself they were good to go with the 45 day policy. HOW WRONG I WAS. I called a third time to place an order. They took my info and card and placed the order. I asked for a receipt and was told no receipts can be given for phone orders just an order number. An hour later I called in to verify the order. At this time I was told about a 20% restock fee for returned orders PLUS I pay shipping and they're only accepted unopened. I'm ok with all but the 20% restock. That's $30+ out the window for nothing plus$15+ to ship back to them. I told them I wasn't aware and needed to cancel the order for an hour ago. They said no can do we never cancel orders. You'll get it in a week or so and it's yours or be penalized 20% restock. I was furious but dealt with it. Only to get one crushed item and one item the wrong color. I called in not happy but civil. They said oh you can ship the busted box back and we'll send you another. This is out of my pocket. And then was told they also don't guarantee color. What more could you ask for from a company to be label HORRIBLE! I read a few good reviews before buying but trust me there's nothing good here. All these things can be verified. Call in and ask all these things before ordering because they WILL NOT TELL YOU UPFRONT! It should be unlawful for this to be possible."

Incompetent to conduct business

"I ordered a Taigen RC tank. It came with multiple damages, definitely not caused during shipping. It was incompetently refurbished. I paid for a refurbished, not a damaged item. Opened RMA, sent them all pictures and explanations, and they insist I send it back so they can try fixing it again. I presented to them other alternatives, because they want me to pay for shipping, which would be expensive due to weight. They don't want to work with me on any other options and keep hiding behind "policy" claiming I have no other option but ship it back for them to fix (or break even more).
Their customer support is amazingly bad. It usually takes 20 min to wait for someone to pick up the phone, and then they either put you back on hold indefinitely, transfer to some voicemail, or disconnect. And the times I was able to get through, most of the time the support people weren't very nice or helpful, and Katie L. (who turns out to be their supervisor) is very ignorant and arrogant. Stay away from hobbytron if you value good business.

Edit after resolution:
It was a pleasure to work with Sheena on resolving this matter. We've agreed to a partial refund to cover cost of the damaged parts.
As long people like Sheena work there, who care about their customers, Hobbytron may not be that bad. Giving it back 2 more stars. My confidence in the company is stronger, but they still need to improve the first level customer support team.

"Placed an order a week ago, have been billed but still have not received shipping confirmation. Many notes and voice messages have gone unanswered.

In addition, HobbyTron added $40 to the initial shipping estimate of $20, so the total shipping fee was $60, which is a 30% premium on the product price.
