"I was a little worried seeing all of these negative reviews, but I ordered anyway. It was $250 worth of around 12 RC items. I decided to try it out, though, because of their 10% coupon. They do not send you a confirmation e-mail, which I called about, and they told me it wasn't a problem and my order would ship. It did, and arrived today, all items intact and in good shape. Took about a week but that was from the free shipping being a cheaper service.
The only complaint I have about the service is the packaging, it arrived in a very beaten up box with a tape job around it that looked like what my 4 year old cousin would do. One of the items, a large cutting mat, was rolled up in the box and took a while to unroll (I guess they don't know that cutting mats are worthless unless they're totally flat). Other than that, everything else seemed ok. I was glad that I could get all my items there, usually I need to split up an order to multiple dealers.
In all, the order was completed successfully and I will probably order from them again, though I do like the service of Horizon and Tower better."
"I wish I had read these reviews before I placed my order. I paid for FedEx 2day. And I received a package in 2the days. However, it was the wrong item. I didn't realize this until the next day. I called, and spoke to someone that said they were out if stock. I asked what happened to the item I ordered that was in stock. She said let me look in back, and when she came back, she said she had one. I should receive it Monday after christmas. I told her I needed it for christmas present. She said she would make sure it got there christmas eve or earlier.
I did not received a tracking number, so I called and asked for it. They gave it to me, but it again said that I wouldn't get until Tuesday Dec 27th. So I called back again. The woman who answered phone said FedEx was mistaken and I would receive on Saturday. I said I ship FedEx all the time and if you don't specify Saturday delivery, it comes next business day.
So when it did not come on Saturday, I called FedEx and they said I did not specify Saturday delivery so I will receive Tuesday because Monday is holiday.
Very disappointed! So when it finally came on Tuesday and my son finally was happy, He called me at work to tell me the wires to the motor were pulled out. They obviously shipped me a broken remote control car. Probably to appease me. What a joke?!
So I went down to the hobby shop and bought him a more expensive rc truck.
I would never buy from this company ever again and STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. They lie and tell you what you want to hear instead of telling you the truth. They were cheaper than anyone else but then again I didn't receive anything. I will say that they returned my money fairly quick.

"This company will screw you over. Took 4 weeks to get a half refund when only half the items were recieved. Do not order from these people they are never answering their phones they don't reply to most emails. They will rip you off and then blow you off.

"I wanted to share my experience ordering from Hobby Warehouse. I placed my order on 12/15 and paid promptly with Paypal. I’m used to getting an immediate order confirmation e-mailed back to me and was worried when I did not have one by 12/19. I realize there was a weekend in there but I sent an e-mail to them on 12/19 just to check if they received my order. I also tried calling their customer service line and only got vm. I did not leave a message.
I then started looking at the reviews here and got alarmed. Worried that I too would have similar difficulties getting in touch with anyone or that I would never get my order (Parkzone P-47 airframe). I too Google Earthed the street address and like KIMBLE29 below I got worried when I saw it appeared to be a deserted gravel pit.However I did some more research and discovered that there are actually commercial underground warehouse facilities there. Pretty neat use of old space! I was still worried though not being able to connect with anyone at Hobby Warehouse.
On the 20th though I received an e-mail confirmation that my order had been processed and on the 21st received a shipping notice e-mail with FedEx tracking number. Neither of these e-mails appeared to be a response to my inquiry on the 19th, but I was cautiously optimistic that I may in fact receive my order.
I’m happy to say that I did get my Parkzone P-47 on the 22nd (two days in transit!!) and it was double boxed and the items were in perfect shape. I’m going to rate them favorably as my experience was pretty good. Would have liked a bit better communication and would have welcomed a live person when I called Customer Service. VM is scary. But I wanted to be sure I posted my good experience. I would consider doing more business with them if I saw more reviews like mine. I hope they keep up the good work, they’re prices on some items are competitive.

"DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. I ordered an item. The wrong item was delivered. They promised me if I returned the item to Fedex, they would send the correct one the same day. I did exactly as told and 2 days later the item was still not shipped out to me. It read "pending approval" on their website, even though the customer service agent insisted that it would be mailed out to me. I needed this for a gift and it obviously would not get to me in time with 3-5 business day shipping time..because they refused to send it out express service (stated it was not possible). I had to cancel the order and put a dispute on my credit card account. Also, the only way to speak with a live person is to keep pressing "0" over and over and over until someone answers. This isn't even an option when you get the recording. I figured it out because I was tired of leaving messages that went unanswered. The prices might be better, but not worth the aggravation and you might not even get your item, as I didn't! They will be very nice to you over the phone and will keep promising you something...but you won't get it. DON'T BOTHER WITH THEIR HORRIBLE SERVICE."

"I placed an order for a top flite in cowl muffler on Monday 12/5. I need this item QUICK, so I selected FedEx 2nd day shipping for $23, more than the cost of the muffler itself.
I called their customer service on Tuesday 12/06, and they said it would be shipped at end of day Tuesday or first thing Wednesday. Called them yesterday and they said it's just on it's way out of the door. It is now Thursday 12/08. Order status stills says "Pending Fulfillment".
So what gives? Why am I being lied to? What good does it do me to pay $23 for 2nd day shipping if it takes 4 days just to get it out of the door (if that, it still hasn't been mailed out yet). Their website says "Most orders are processed within 24 hours from when the order is placed. If for some reason this process is not completed within the allotted time, you will be notified of the delay", so where the heck was my notification?
UPDATE: Just received an email from Customer Service confirming that the item has still not been shipped, estimating to ship out today. So I WAS lied to. No tracking info either. Seeing that it's past 4PM pacific, I doubt they'll get it out today.
Hobbywarehouse.com has lost my business for good. Save yourself the headache and order from Towerhobbies. "
"I ordered an Aerotech Initiator Launch system from these guys. I got leery when I never was emailed any kind of confirmation or notification that my order was placed. I emailed them but got no reply. I used PayPal and I have been burnt before buying things on the web so I decided to call the phone number listed. All I got was a machine. I left a message but got no call back. I looked up their address listed using Google Earth and it was a gravel pit in MO. At that point I felt like I got scammed so I opened a dispute in PayPal. A day later a sales order showed up in my email but that was it. I emailed them again and called again and still never got a response. An identical sales order showed up a day later so I guess someone was getting the dispute messages I was leaving. After 3 days of waiting to hear what the deal with my order was I logged on to their website to check my account and it was listed as shipped. I never got an email or any kind of notice that it shipped. So, I closed my dispute in PayPal and am waiting for delivery. Maybe I was hasty in my judgement and should have been more patient but at this time of year and with the way people are constantly getting ripped off, I'm pretty leery when I don't get good documentation of things I buy online. Would I buy from them again? Probably, but I wish their customer service was better. They do offer good prices... they just need to work on their communication skills."
"I placed an order for a Great planes giant scale 38% Extra 330s. ordered it on a Wednesday it shipped on Friday Showed up on Tues. Was a little concerned about ordering from them but confirmed they had it in stock after a phone call to them. They informed me that there stock on the web site is updated daily and if it is on the web site it is in stock. The price was great on the plane. Information on shipping was given the day it shipped out and they did not charge my account until the day it was shipped out. Very pleased with the way the 2 giant boxes were shipped. They put the boxes from Great Planes for the plane into card board boxes. The plane showed up in perfect condition. Shipping for the 2 giant boxes was also inexpensive it only cost $24.00 to ship these 2 huge boxes. No special handling fees because of the size like some other hobby supplier."
"I placed a $875 order on hobbywarehouse.com on a Sunday night and it was delivered on Friday. Everything was in new undamaged condition. Their prices were much lower than anywhere else I could find on the Internet.
I did have one problem in that my rewards points for the purchase were not credited to my account. I sent their customer service an email and they corrected it the next day.
I was a little apprehensive about buying from them given some of the reviews out there, but it looks like the "old" hobby-warehouse.com had major issues but the new hobbywarehouse.com isn't as bad. I figured I could always have the credit card company reverse the charge if I had a problem but luckily things worked out fine.
I have made a few other smaller purchases with them since and they have also been problem free. I plan to continue to purchase from them."

hobbywearhouse.com just charged me today 2 times for a duratrax ext2! But I paid for it 3 months ago!
I called them up on the way to the bank and They said that I had placed two orders and canceled them and that they were waiting for the bank to authorize them even though they were canceled! I was on my account with them a few days ago to print my invoice so I could send it to duratrax to get some new parts for my broken ones. Never did I click any buy it now or anything I just logged in and printed the invoice! even if I had accidentally ordered something I wouldn't have canceled it on accident too!!!
So I went strait to my bank today and called them at the same time... Anyway long story short I was talking with the supervisor (who was the first one to answer my call yeah right!) and she threatened to hang up, Then we (my Mom and I) got her talking to the banker for about 3 seconds then she hung up!
So because of this the bank is filing fraud, and I had to get a new card. So I take back anything I said about them being nice or honest, because they are obviously not!"
"I made an order with hobby warehouse and got no kind of order confirmation. That got me poking around looking for reviews. The reviews made me pretty nervous. I called two days after I made my order because I had heard nothing. They said my order had shipped and that I would get a tracking number email in a few house. Two days later still nothing. Called again and they said that had just shipped and I would receive a tracking number email in a few hours. I said "you said that two days ago". This time I did receive a tracking number but it had no info for two days. All of a sudden, bam, the order was here in town. I called the post office and went to pick it up. They may be terrible about letting you know what is happening but the package did arrive. I am very glad it did because I plan to spend a lot more money there. Their prices are the best I have found and the only shipping that is cheaper is the free kind. Can't wait to order the other stuff I need."
"I bought Thundertiger fuselage on a good discount (Paid $59 of reg price $ 75.00. I placed the order online on Sunday, they shipped it on Tuesday (paid $ 7.50 for UPS). They e-mail me the tracking # and I received the item on friday. I called the 800 # twice and somebody always picked up the phone in less than 2 minutes. Good buying experience. I definitely will buy again from them. "
