" Home advisor won't stand help if the customer has a problem with the contractor hired. I hired a painter and he made a huge mess in my home, paint on my carpets and hardwood floors, wall paint on the baseboards and baseboard paint on the walls. Left tons of places where you could see the old color thru the paint. Missed lots of spots. Scuffed up my walls with their ladders. Didn't finish when we pointed out the issues. Didn't completely cover the paint on the window frames and spindles. When confronted he threatened to come beat my husband up!! We paid this guy a lot of money and we were totally ripped off. Oh and he promised to use Sherwin Williams paint and I picked out a SW color. After they were done they left a portion of paint which was Glidden!!! He claimed he never promised us to use SW and always used what was on sale!! I did some checking on this guy and he is an ex felon. Been in prison twice!! And both his sons who he had painting with him were felons!! And I left these guys alone in my home twice!! HomeAdvisor is supposed to do background checks and they failed to even do that. When I told them all this they told me they were going to kick him off but then never did and refused to return my phone calls. They let whoever pays to advertise thru them be on there no matter what. What a nightmare!"
