"i do not think the review process is fair to the consumer. i had to wait 10 days to get a response to my review, and since it was a 1 star i got a phone call that was so mumbled and digitized all i understood was home advisor and call back. i spent a lot of time writing the review, as a lot of people with bad experiences do, and i think home advisor filters through them to only let the 5 star reviews get posted. i will never use home advisor to find a contractor again. the company we hired was anything but 5 stars and yet that's all home advisor posted. terrible system!"

"Would like to see a set of criteria prepared by pros posted for jobs that consumers can fill out. Then would like to see several estimates returned from pros that we can select from. Unfortunately, contractors often will not provide estimates without going through time consuming process of insisting to visit and survey job site first."

How likely is that? Check before hiring someone from this site. "
