"The alarm system arrived on time and everything was in the box and packed well. I am still in the process of installation because of what I classify as the differences between my old system and the DSC system. At this point I am not sure if the I missed something in describing what I have or the CSR did not realize the potential compatibility issues.
I also must say I thought I knew more about alarms than I have learned I do so some of things I need to work through are due to my lack of knowledge. However, my on line installation technician Matt has been patient and helpful. With his continued support and guidance and my determination I expect to have a successful installation.
The suggestion I would make is for potential customers who possess a reasonable degree of mechanical and electrical knowledge but not knowledge of electronics such as myself a study guide or primer would be helpful. Although I have to reread the installation and reference guides several times with Matt's help I am getting it. "

"I received your shipment of my alarm. I did not realize that my older GE Simon door sensors would not work with the new unit, so new sensors were ordered and I have a notice of their delivery. The first system had much clearer description of programming. If I need help; is there a local GE man available that can help me with programming?

A list of variable products with a picture of the item and all the details were listed. This really made it easy for me to view and read the product I was needing. "I bought a DSC-1832 security system kit from Home Security. After some issues trying to read and understand the intallation manuals, which were written for professional installers, I visited there forums and asked a few questions online to their tech staff. Everything then became clear.

Installation was relatively simple,including registering the wireless devices with the control panel. Everything worked as advertised and the quality of the product was great.

One of the best features came with the option Envisalink Unit that communicates with your smart or dumb phone via email or SMS texting. It also allows remote control of the system.

High quality system. Looks like it is built to last.

I would highly recommend it to the do it yourselfers that have at least some geek in them. The only drawback is the technical level of the manuals. If the company made a DSC-1832 For Dummies manual, anyone could install the system.

I'm getting an additional system for my daughter's house."
