"We booked a day stay near the Miami airport since we had a really long layover. We later decided we didn't need it. We canceled within the time specified to get a refund. No refund. I contacted them by email and they promised a refund, but none showed up. I disputed with my credit card but HotelsByDay claimed my cancellation wasn't in policy. So I'm out $140 because they lied. Third-party sites ****, I won't make this mistake again!"

"Booked day rate through this company from 0800 to 1400 at Radisson JFK arrived at 0740 and was told to wait 20 minutes, was then told room would not be ready until 0900 didn't get to room until 1000 as hotel claimed they had no house keeping staff. Was charged full rate despite missing out on two hours on reservation. Customer service was terrible and they refused to help. AVOID AVOID AVOID"
"My reservation was confirmed and I contacted customer service to ensure the room was available. Forty minutes prior to my arrival the reservation was canceled after I called to make sure the room was available. The property or Hotels by Day never contacted me to let me know. "

"First of all, this service does not offer refundable day stays. I don't understand that notion and only booked through them because it was an emergency situation. I got a call from the hotel I booked a day stay with through HotelsByDay saying they don't even offer day rates! They were contacted via HotelsByDay requesting a room and the hotel declined it. I was never notified by HotelsByDay and wouldn't have known if the hotel didn't call me. Although my credit card information was required at the time of booking by HotelsByDay, they never charged me. That is the only reason I did not take legal action and would have been a whole new, bigger problem. I do NOT recommend HotelsByDay and hope they figure things out in the future. "
"They said they had a room available and I booked it. Less than 24 hours from my stay, they said the hotel would not honor it. They promised something they could not deliver. How hard is it to know whether a hotel will honor the commitment. I have never had this happen on any other reservation site. Will never use them again."

"I used hotelsbyday for the first time on this trip. I wasn't sure how it would all work out because I have never heard of my friends booking a day room. In the end, everything is as it was presented. The booking process was very clear with no hidden details. I looked up the hotel on the internet and it got mixed reviews. But because the price was very affordable, I wanted to book it. The hotel was just as the mixed reviews said it would be but the part handled by HotelsbyDay was well executed. In the end, the price was just a few dollars less than what was booked and I get some great rest on a long day layover."

Now, I fully take responsability for the fact that our customer service agent has not properly shared these limitations with you: she was a new agent that we hired for the holidays (your booking being in December) and she was eager to please, even if she actually stepped out of her role in approving something she should have not. In sum: You canceled past the deadline and our new agent messed-up and that we're awefully sorry for confusing you.
