"They never intended to sell the item for advertised price. When I didn't want to buy their overpriced accessories they said that the camera was out of stock and hanged up. When I called them after that to get cancellation confirmation number they said that they don't talk to people because they argue and hanged up again. One of the worst scams on the Internet!!!! I'm cancelling my credit card because they have the number!!!"
"WARNING !!! These guys are crooks !!
I placed a camera order online, and gave my credit card#. Never rec'd a confirmation, and when I called, they told me that item was already shipped. Today I've called to get a tracking number and they didn't have one. When I asked why, he hanged up on me..

"I ordered a digital camera (without reading the reviews of the store - my mistake!). Anyway, INS Digital World (which also goes under the name Starlight Video) called me to sell me camera accessories, which I did not buy. So, they cancelled my order, but they did not tell me. After 10 days, I called them. The first thing they asked is "What else did you buy?" When I said "Nothing," they guy told me that the order had been cancelled. When I expressed my frustration because they did not let me know, he just hung up. When I called back and very politely asked to talk to a manager or owner, he yelled at me and hung up. I called back on another day, spoke with a different person. As soon as I told them I did not order any accessories, he just hung up on me. I would never recommend that anyone shop here or their affiliates."
"I typically review store ratings on sites like this before ordering. The night I placed my order for a Casio Exilim EX-Z55 from INSDIGITAL I was in a hurry so neglected to check up on them. They had a good rating by Yahoo! and their website looked reasonably professional so I placed the order. I never got a confirmation letter like I typically do from other merchants. I have been lucky with web orders so far, so I guess my guard was down. I called them 10 days later to ask about my order and reached this clown named Carlos (?). He asked my phone number, retrieved my name and looked at my order. He said, “all you ordered was the camera” (probably meaning that I did not order any overpriced accessories), then asked when did I placed the order? You’d think he’d have that piece of info. When I replied that I don’t remember the exact date, he snickered and said something like “back in the day, eh?” and promptly hung up. I was shocked so called right back. I asked if he was the same person I just spoke to and whether he hung up on me. He said yes. I asked “why would you do that?” he said “I don’t know, I felt like it.” At this point I was incredulous and getting real annoyed. After some strange comments from “Carlos”, including “you ask a lot of questions, why do you ask a lot of questions?” I asked who the owner was. To my surprise he claimed he was the owner, and then hung up again. I called back yet once more but went to a different menu choice. Sure enough it was him again. I warned him not to charge my card and wished him “good luck on your life” and hung up on him. I really think he needs help.
BTW, “Accessoriesland.com” is the exact same site, down to the phone number. Avoid these 2 sites (and maybe others) like the plague. Interestingly, reading the description of the “customer service rep” in several of the previous comments, I suspect we are all referring to the same joker. I wonder if this site operates out of a back office somewhere in Brooklyn. I just learned to be more careful with online merchants."
"If you are reading this and have not yet placed an order through these guys, do yourself a favor and do NOT do business with these crooks! Having read some of the negative reviews for this website, it appears that I am far from the only one that has experienced and fallen for almost the exact same high pressure bait and switch that they’ve pulled on a number of reviewers here.
My experience: at the time I recently ordered my Olympus Camedia digital camera, INS Digital had it listed at the lowest price according to Bizrate, so I ordered it from their website. Despite the website confirming that my online order had been accepted at the time of placing it, I never received any kind of e-mail confirmation, but a few days later I got an urgent message at work to call “James” at INS Digital as soon as possible. I called back and ended up speaking to a very fast talking guy with a slight Arabic accent. He told me that this was a beautiful camera and that he did wedding photography on the side with the exact same model and I would not be disappointed with it (setting me up as the expert to sell the additional accessories).
He went on to say that Energizer, Duracell or alkaline batteries should never be used in the camera as they will leak and destroy the camera. He then gave me a spiel on rechargable batteries, “which retail for $120 elsewhere,” but he was going to give them to me for the steal of $89. I was somewhat hesitant and asked if the camera came with rechargeable batteries as a previous Fuji camera I purchased elsewhere online did. He said no (the camera IS in fact sold with batteries, but not rechargeables), so I gave in, largely because I was at work, extremely annoyed to be getting such a hard sell from an online distributor and wanted to get off the phone with him.
He then brazenly went on to say that I also “needed” a 128K memory card for the camera. This time, I recalled that the camera came with the standard size memory card and brought that to his attention. He went on to explain that the card the camera comes with will only take about 4 high quality pictures (I later logged onto amazon.com and looked up the camera, which stated that the card it comes with would take up to 20 high quality pictures).
Needless to say, at this point in the conversation, things just didn’t feel right and I asked him how many more items I would “need” to purchase and how high it would jack the price up. He insisted that if I buy the memory card for an additional $79, he’d throw in a leather carrying case and he promised that would be the sweetest deal I’d get on this camera from anyone. I was extremely hesitant and he did not want to take no for an answer, so, starting to realize I was dealing with a bait and switch scam artist, I started asking if the camera was refurbished and what the policy was on returns and he got very defensive, telling me that that all his cameras are brand new and if I wanted to return the camera, I should not do business with him because “that’s just rude,” (going against the 7 day return policy listed on the website) so I went on to ask if I could just cancel the order on the spot with him. He very defensively told me that this would be subject to a 15% restocking fee. I figured the hell if I was going to pay a dime for this and it might not be worth trying to dispute with my credit card company for months, so largely in an effort to get off the phone with him, I decided to just agree to the upgrades, to which I was told I’d be calling to thank him because it was such a great deal. The price went from $218 for the camera alone to $400 for the camera with rechargeable batteries (which I discovered are sold at Amazon.com for $20), a 128K Olympus XD memory card (which Amazon.com had for $42) and a leather carrying case ($15 at Amazon). I did receive the order a few days later containing the camera with all of the promised extras EXCEPT THE CARRYING CASE.
The fact that this company not only called me to sell me more accessories, but did it in such a high pressure fashion and then became so rude when I questioned them on their actions is downright reprehensible. Just based on having experienced this, I went to bizrate.com and Yahoo to check some reviews of the store and found that they have pulled this with several others as well.
It appears that the NY Better Business Bureau is doing an inquiry into their various companies based on the Yahoo complaints and I can assure you they will also be receiving an account of my transaction with them. This company is setting itself up for a class action lawsuit and I work with nothing but attorneys, so I am seriously considering this option. Your best bet is to steer clear of these thieves.

"I believe this INS Digital WOrld to be the same phoney company as Starlight Cameras both in Brooklyn NY. Their websites look exactly the same except for the name. I placed an online order on 9/15/04 for a Casio digital camera. Received my email confirmation that day. Then on 9/19 got a phone call telling me they were calling to confirm my order and my credit card. Asked my name, address, reviewed my order, asked if I wanted to also buy memory or batteries or a charger or purchase the 5 yr warrenty. I declined these extras, then the caller said "we are cancelling your order because we don't have this camera available". I have never heard of such a thing!! I am led to believe my order is just being confirmed, then it is cancelled? I have heard of companies cancelling orders when the buyer is unwilling to add on the extras. This is unethical business practice. The caller also cut me off so I couldn't ask questions and hung up on me. I call back, got someone named Eric who sounded like the same person, though he denied it, and he was extremely rude on the phone. He had no explanation for the previous phone call, simply said "what do you want me to do? We don’t have the camera available? Then he HUNG UP ON ME!!
Beware of these two companies!"
"Don't be fooled by the low price and in stock information. You give your credit card number and put your order but they never have anything for you."
"oops, wrong company...................................................................."
"Bad bad bad company!!
I ordered Nikon d100 since September 7 but I haven't got anything from them. First, I paid by credit card and they called me my credit card had a problem and they said I have to pay by money order. Then, I think it was ok so, I sent them money order. I never knew it before that money order is like a cash so, when I sent it, the post office couldn't stop anything. One month later, I haven't got the camera and as u guys know calling them is like call to someone who doesn't exist in this world. Phone never works!! Then, I got a copy from the post office that they quickly cashed my money order on Sep15. So, what happen with my money? They intentionally cheated me. They might think I won't sue them because it's not worth to pay for a lawyer but I will do something to make them get out of this business definitely."
"I ordered a digital camera from this store after being told it was in stock. A month later I'm still being given the runaround, and now they tell me I can have what I ordered for $100 more.
Lousy store, misleading sales people, and failure to deliver as promised. Never again."
"I suppose that I should have read the reviews here before I attempted a purchase of a Sony CD500 camera.
I called to confirm my order and was told the camera is on back order and that next day air would not be available. OK with me since I was told the camera would ship in about 7-10 days. I waited a resonable amount of time then noted the reviews here. I then attempted to call INS DIGITAL at their listed phone number with NO success as I kept receiving a recording "Nextel customer is not available" and this was during their listed open hours of operation. I've since tried e-mailing them 3 times to cancel the order with no responses.
Bottom line is that I have NOT received any charges to my credit cards (Lucky Me).
Also I have noted I the Yahoo links in my shopping history to this order will no longer work.
I have since ordered the camera from another online seller with FANTASTIC results."
"BUYER BEWARE!!! YAHOO PLEASE REMOVE THIS STORE. Thank GOD I didn't purchase the camcorder from this outfit. When I called to ask questions about the camera they said it was new, but didn't come with a battery. That's not right. I began to ask questions and he interrupted me and kept saying NO. NO. NO. and I didn't even finish my sentence. I told him that I didn't even complete my sentences and he said that he knew what I was going to say. VERY rude tone of voice and a complete lack of understanding. I would rather pay much more money and have wonderful customer service.
"
"They sold me a low priced camera with HIGH PRICED ACCESSORIES! When i recieved the extra battery that was not a Cannon as promised and tried to return it, Scott would not let me. He finally agreed to let me return the LARGE camera case that he promised was skin tight to the S-50 Cannon, yet guess what it wasn't? I returned it with his instructions and not to my surprise INS DIgital MOVED and refused shipment of the $39.99 camera case. Now i have a battery that does not work and camera case that is too large and Scott with INS is no where to be found? I will NEVER buy from them again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "
"Complaint:
On August 5, 2003 I attempted to purchase a digital camera from INS Digital in Brooklyn, New York. The advertised price for the camera was $569. At first they agreed to sell the camera at that price and everything went well until the purchase was finalized. At that point INS digital tried to force me into buying "extras" for the camera, mainly very high priced memory for the camera. When I told them I already had memory for the camera the sales person said, "Yeah, right". He then proceeded to tell me I needed to buy a battery and a charger for the camera, even though the camera comes with a battery and a charger in the box. I was told that I could not get the battery and the charger with the camera for $569. Nikon does not sell this camera without an included battery and charger, so I knew something was wrong. They refused to sell me the item at the advertised price.
Be careful of buying camera/electronic equipment at low prices from ANY store located in Brooklyn, NY. These guys run their operation under many different names. You could try different companies and still have to deal with the same losers under a different name!
The only reason I tried to order from these bums is because of their high rating on Yahoo Shopping. These con-artists are proof that Yahoo's rating service for merchants DOES NOT WORK.

"Placed an order over a week ago and NEVER HEARD FROM THEM! I have been emailing, calling, this merchant is not interested in contacting me at all! DO NOT RECOMMEND!"
