"After trying a handful of online photo developers, I decided to try ImageStation.
Ordering from their site is pretty simple. The easiest way to upload pictures is via the browser plug-in. Make sure you have all your pictures ready. I had about half of those I wanted printed uploaded before the rest were ready. It will take you to another page, which you can say upload more. Once you start a picture and its uploaded it takes you to the finished page instead of giving you a moment to look for more pictures. So if you order a lot of pictures like me its best to have everything organized before hand.
Process time: Can't say I was impressed. My order was placed before Halloween and according to their site average production time is 2 days, mine lasted 8 days. You might not think that was bad, but I had referred a friend to use their service. They order 2 days after me and received their order before I did. Both orders were for 100 pictures, so can not figure why they are not processing orders in the same order that they are received. That kinda burnt me on using their service, but I will give them another try.
Pricing and Service: There are two other services I would rate higher than Image Station, but they offer very competitive rates.
Pictures turned out good. Sadly Image Station does print the date on the photos, other than that everything was what I expected.
Would buy from again."
"I am an avid digital camera usere. I am an amateur photographer who takes about 3000-4000 photos a year using three Canon cameras. My main camera is a Canon Rebel XT. I have had hundreds of photos printed using Sony's Imagestation. I am very happy with the results. Only found a few photos that had slightly yellow undertones out of the hundreds of photo printed. They will reprint them.
The pictures have arrived quickly, well packaged, and with an index card in each package. Larger prints such as 8x10's and 16x20's are packaged separately.
The website is easy to navigate. The online magazine is helpfull. Many of the public user's photos are simply stunning. I have about 60 online albums. I have converted about 12 people to use Imagestation by sending them an email invitation to view my online photos. This is done thru Imagestation. The cost per print competes with the lowest online photo stores. There are coupons and sales every week. They have started charging slightly higher membership fees. The per print fees have dropped to a few cents per print over the years. So, it is worth it. Only wish they had better connectivity with Apple computers. They now offer uplink thru iPhoto which I rarely use anymore since purchasing Aperture. I just move my pics to a USB drive and upload them thru a Windows PC. This drawback would not stop me from continuing to use Imagestation. It is much cheaper than local shops. Imagestation offers printouts at local stores with an increased charge over home mailing. Go for home delivery. Photos usually arrived in less than 5 business days after order is placed."
"Terrible Service!
I've been using different online services since their invention and I have seen many really bad ones. But Sony ImageStation is probably the leader. Seems like there is no Customer Service at all. I placed my order a month ago and still have not received it and have not idea if it was actually shipped.
How does this service even exist?
Why some goverment agency has not just shut down their website. Imagestation just charges you credit card and then you have to wait and pray that your order has not been lost.
Didn't expect service like this from Sony."
"I ordered a photo t-shirt on 1/29/04 and I receieved an email that it had been shipped on 2/1/05. Unfortunately I haven't recieved it yet (2/15/05) and no one can tell me where it is. I have e-mailed, talked to online tech support, and called and no one will tell me where my package is. Service is horrible - they will lie and say that no supervisors are there - but if you push hard enough you'll get one. Someone even hung up on me when I asked for a refund. TERRIBLE SERVICE - ITS NOT WORTH IT."
