"I was going to place and order today! But didn’t!! Let me tell you why. They state at the top of website page free shipping, fast delivery. No where does it state you need to use a promo code or you can only use one. Then they send me a crap tone of emails way to many if you ask me. Well email I received was 10.00 dollars off for spending 50.00 or more. I go to check out and you can’t get free shipping if you take 10.00 off of 50.00 or more. So I’m thinking something isn’t right. I speak to there online rep and I’m telling her my situation (AMANDA) that is and she is as dumb as they come. She needs to be retrained if you can’t answer my simple question when asked three times! What does shipping have to do with your discount. The answer I get is well the discount is only on some items! HELLO I told you the discount of ten worked in check out again what does shipping have to do with a promotion? I’ve shopped a lot of online places and if they state free shipping on orders over a certain amount than you get it regardless of your coupon. I even told her Amazon is selling it with free shipping no code. But in the end they must make so much they can afford to lose customers over false advertising. And Amanda was ok with it. Don’t buy nothing from them! "
"This is the first time I ever wrote a company review. I felt "In the Swim" was worth the time. In May 2019 I bought a Pleatco filter for my above ground pool. Still in the Box in August, I decided I would replace the old filter when I recognized it was the wrong size. I called the company. They said it was my fault and their 60 day return policy had lapsed. Angry, I tried twice more and still turned-down. All I wanted was another filter, which they were happy to sell me - but no refund on the wrong size. This fall I shopped on AMAZON for all my pool needs where they take ANYTHING back with no questions asked. Sorry, "In the Swim" but you are "Out of Luck" with my (and others) business, because you would not take back a perfectly good, unlimited shelf-life product. To bad, SHOP AMAZON !!!

"Do not order from this company false advertising picture of what I ordered was not what I got"
"I bought over 1,000 dollars worth of products and was sent the wrong filter so i needed to return it. I contacted customer service not only did i have to pay to ship it back they charged me a restocking fee. So not only did they make money they also got their product back to resell. I was so mad i will never shop there again "
"I ordered several items from In the Swim that were advertised as 1 Day Delivery. I contacted the company the day after I ordered because I had not received tracking numbers. Order had not shipped and the CS person did not know why. I requested to cancel the order but he refused. I tried another CS agent later that day and she also refused because now some of the order had shipped. I also sent emails to customer service requesting assistance. So far it's been four days and no delivery. Also there has been no response to the emails and no refund to my card. Customer Service is horrible. Everything you do with them says 24-48 hour response time. They state 1 Day Delivery but they do not deliver in one day!!!"
"We purchased a pool pump from In the Swim in May of 2018. We used the new pump from May of 2018 through the end of August 2018 for approximately 20 minutes per day each day. We went to reopen our pool this year about the same time, mid May and the pump came on and then shut down. It would not come on again. After contacting In the Swim for assistance regarding how to proceed in getting the pump replaced, we were initially told by a customer service representative there was nothing to be done. After asking pertinent questions as far as warranty and service or replacement, I was given the information for Aqua Splash to trouble shoot the pump. I was informed by the customer service rep that this needed to be done before a replacement pump would be in discussion. I contacted Aqua Splash spoke with a rep who offered some trouble shooting tips. However, after reviewing the receipt for the pump and the information taken from the pump she informed me that Aqua Splash does not service pool pumps only pool equipment hence, I needed to contact In the Swim for further assistance. Called In the Swim again and spoke with another representative who found all the information in the system relative to all the previous calls and notes. She said she would speak with her return supervisor and get back to me. She called and left a voicemail that day stating that she was still looking into the matter and had not had a solution as yet. I never received another call. After calling to follow up, I was eventually transferred with the return supervisor who said I needed to get in touch with the supplier of the pump. I contacted that company spoke with a rep who informed me I needed to email the manager. Sent an email and it has been two weeks without a solution. My last follow up email sent a week ago received the response from the supplier stating that he was working with In the Swim to determine who manufactured the pump as they have not been able to locate that information. Since then, no one has followed up with me in any way and we are going into June, our pool costing a lot out of pocket to keep from turning green and we do not have any idea what will become of the pump situation. In the Swim sold us an item they have no information about regarding who manufactured the product. The supplier has no idea where the product came from and the lack of information and follow up from all parties is beyond frustration. We are prepared to report this on going incident to the consumer report services for an investigation as this may be equivalent to lemon law considering we have very little use of the pump before it went bad and we have no idea how if at all In the Swim will honor the product they sold us as a quality product."
"Very unscrupulous. Not a trustworthy company to do business with. Purchased a solar blanket in mid July 2018. Before the month was over, the bubbles began coming off of the blanket. When I contacted the company they informed me that that particular part of the blanket was not warrantied and it was in the fine print of the warranty. Needless to say, the company had no problem not standing behind a solar cover that was less than 3 weeks old. Buyer beware!"
"I purchased 4 pool filters. The company sent one correct filter, 3 Aftermarket filters. I needed to return the incorrect filters at my cost of $83 to correct their mistake. BEWARE of this company. They can sent you a birdcage instead of a test kit, and you will need to pay to return the birdcage!"
"I will NEVER purchase another item from In The Swim!! I have purchased two different solar covers from you, the last one being last year. The solar cover is completely disintegrating and after months of going back and forth sending pictures and making calls, of which I've never received a response, I called again today and spoke to Jenae the "supervisor" and was told that a solar cover that is disintegrating in NOT covered under the warranty and there's nothing she could do! This is completely unacceptable and I'll make sure to not only tell everyone that I know about this poor customer service, but I will be going to every possible social media site and advise others not to purchase anything from this company. It was not the cheapest solar cover, I have purchased both the top of the line solar cover and the next one down only to have the same issue."
"When I called Brian Stringer's voicemail, I was greeted with a condescending message ordering people to talk slow and saying, "...I can't call you back if I can't understand your message". I left two slow and clear messages, and he still couldn't call me back with a pool kit price quote. erstand the message. .
There are no prices listed on their site. I started trying to get prices 18 days ago! I called 8 times and the inground pool dept never answered the phone. I left 2 messages and sent 2 emails. Brian Stringer called once and emailed once. Both times he promised to email quotes, but never did.
Garbage business practices. I sent a letter to him complaining before I posted this, but he never contacted me.
This company is not trust worthy. I'm glad that I realized this before placing an order.
I believe they also use the name Specialty Pool Products."
"I bought a $650 pool kit with a saltwater filtration system on June 8. It arrived June 14 and on July 7 the salt water generator quit working. I called them on Monday July 9 and they said it was no longer under warranty with them and I had to deal direct with Intex. In doing so we found out that the generator/filtration system was obsolete from 2012 and was not even the model number that was on the box. They evidentially swapped out and old system in hopes I would not find out. I asked for a replacement and they said no and totally ignored my future emails. Do NOT purchase from these people!"
"You have plenty of options for pool supply companies, so save yourself some heartburn and avoid these fleabags. Here's what to expect: you will die of old age while being placed in the automated phone cue. Untrained customer svc reps who don't know any of the product or even pool basics. The older, trained reps do zero follow-through (beware of what you're told vs. what they will actually do). Don't expect any email confirmation after payment, and certainly no tracking number for multiple shipments. Shipping and handling slower than death. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING THAT COULD COST YOU TIME OR MONEY if a return on defective items comes up: if you're shopping based on price only, that's great, but it's a throw away if ever received. If a return is attempted and you waste hours on the phone with customer svc asking for a follow-up email with photos of product, do not waste your time. If you do, you will receive an automated email stating they will respond within 24-48 hours: NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Beware: emails are signed by "Dr Pool." This company has the penny wise, pound foolish thing down to a science when it comes to customer retention. Anything they tell you over the phone is useless. Just another lousy outfit pushing China-made junk. They also violate law by charging your credit card before shipping all items on the order. Hard to believe any website based company could survive today while not even sending purchase confirmation out. They really should be shut down."
"They don't honor their warranties.. garbage company. "
"This company used to operate in NC and was very successful. I believe the were sold and are now in Chicago. While under old management, this was a perfect company now they are rude and could care less for their customers. I called to order a leaf cover for my pool. When I finished the order, I was told it would be 1 to four business days to ship..The add clearly stated 1 day delivery and I pointed that out. They said it had to be shipped from another warehouse and that it was impossible to ship it the next day. I told them that the add clearly shows next day delivery and says nothing about another warehouse. I was told they don't advertise that fact fact but that's the way it is. I reiterated that the ad was FALSE ADVERTISING If they won't provide the advertise. They told me I could cancel my order if I didn't like it and hung up on me....DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY........."
"bought a pool cover in august thinking i would have a cover to close the pool when i was ready. a week after labor day i opened the box and put cover on, 2 days later cover looked like it had melted holes in it. they would not refund the money. they told me to buy another cover and then return the messed up one. their customer service hung up on me twice ! was on the phone and writing letters for 4 days and still have got no where !!!"
