"I have had very good communications with Ben. We have exchanged approx. 30 e-mails concerning my order. This was due to my order of a Morgon Monroe Appalacia Banjo being produced in limited quanties. Originaly due to ship in mid April they informed me that they were told it would ship mid May instead. Ben informed me recently that it was on the way and would be shipped to me the week of May 17th. I asked a lot of questions since this was my first experience buying online and Ben answered every one promptly! Being a relative new company they like any new company will have growing pains and this should be considered before rushing to judgments. I will update this review when the banjo arrives."
"The service was awful. Products were fine. From any other site from where I order music items they come in 3-4 days free shipping. I waited 3 weeks for part of the order, and a month on the reamining. I had to reorder the same products from another site so I could play. Then I had to call my credit card co to stop the charge since I was not getting my stuff. I called and called and called, they never called back. Live chat messages, emails, they do not communicate. Forget it, they won't get back to you. A month and a week later I finally got rest of my order. I called credit card co & told them I got the products and to reverse the stop charge. Then they call me and say they are going to send me a bill for $30 because of a hit to them by the credit card co for the stop charge. I laughed. He said he would send the bill, pretty unbelieveable. When he should have been apologizing for poor service. Probably not a place you want to deal with unless you are not in a hurry and don't care about getting your stuff a month or so later than you would get it from any other place."

"I am absolutely smitten with the service level I received from InstrumentAlley.com. I purchased my first banjo from them as they were one of the lowest prices on the type of banjo that I was looking for. I completely did the wrong thing next and researched the company AFTER I already made the purchased. I quickly became panicked after reading some of these posts. However I am delighted to say that everything came in a timely fashion (actually arrived a day early) and was billed correctly. Over the course of the transaction I had a few questions that were quickly answered via email with Ben.
So all in all, no complaints here. I know I will return to them for all my future instrument needs.

"We ordered an autoharp at www.instrumentalley.com from The Netherlands. When it arrived it turned out we couldn't amplify it because there was something wrong with the electronic part of the inside of the instrument. Instead of asking us to send the whole instrument back to the US, Instrumentalley send us a complete new inside of the instrument without making any fuzz about it. Now it works perfectly. "As a careful shopper, I read several reviews (both good and bad)and exchanged emails with Ben before deciding to place an order. The ukulele I wanted was expected to be in stock within a week, so I placed my order on Nov 28th. My order shipped on Dec 15th(within the promised time schedule) and arrived on my doorstep on Christmas Eve morning(in Japan). Ben treated me honestly and punctually. As a smaller, private enterprise it's impossible to compete with giants like Amazon. With some personal contact with a seller, the consumer can ensure better service. "I received the item fairly quickly after it was shipped and it was exactly what I ordered so that was great. There was some problems with a backordered item but once that was all settled I was offered a free t shirt for my troubles. All in all the price was great, the product was exactly what I wanted and communication was easy.
I will most likely will shop there again because the price was better than anything I could find even on ebay, they have free fedex shipping on most items and a good selection."
"Order placed on 26 August 2009; shipping notice received 14 September 2009, almost 3 weeks later. If the order takes another week or so to arrive, then the entire process will have consumed a month. The InstrumentAlley Web site stated that the item was in stock, and would ship in 3-5 days. On the plus side, the price for the guitar (ML Coustic) was the best around. I saved $30, but lost a month of playing time."
