"I had to look up my order and find out WHY some of my items were still not shipping. Because they'd been cancelled! Due to "mass order release." Because I had gift cards I used JerrysArtarama but I won't shop there again"
“We welcome your feedback to help improve your shopping experience. Unfortunately, it seems that your order was included in one of our “mass order releases”. A “mass order release” is when the owner’s of our company along with the Warehouse Manager go through our ordering system and they release a lot of orders that have been on a backorder hold for a while. The reason that we do this is so that our inventory system can stay more up to date. We have only done this a few times to keep things in order.
We understand that this can become an issue. If your order was held for “complete shipment” due to a backorder, the mass order release will cancel the backordered item(s) if it is under $35.00. If you have noticed that this has happened to your order, please call in to Customer Service and give them your order number so that they can place that item on a new order and we can waive shipping to replace the item. We greatly apologize for the inconvenience regarding this matter. Please let us know if you have any questions regarding our policy on “mass releases”. "This review pertains to purchases from the Jerry's website www.jerrysartarama.com/. The selection on the website was good and the pricing was good. The staff at the ordering desk were pleasant. That's were it ends. Customer support for my order ended at the time I placed my order. I ordered it delivered second day air and only half of my order arrived. I ordered it Monday evening, the half showed up Friday. On the days between I called Jerry's customer service several times with NO respose at all. They are still non-responsive to my calls and I am unaware of the status of the remainder of my order (backordered?, cancelled?, in shipment?, processing?). I will not order from Jerry's on the internet again and DO NOT recomend them as a vendor.
Update: I finally received my merchandise from Jerry's - after two weeks. My opinion of their customer service has remainded unchanged and I would not recomend using them for art supplies.

"I ordered a gift card for $250 to be mailed. Six days after the payment had been deducted from my account, I still had not received the card, which was to be mailed. I called, and they could not identify if it had been processed or mailed yet, and they could not track it. I chose not to have the gift emailed because I wanted to physically give it to my friend. I had two days left before I would not be there to receive the card at all.
It seems that a gift card would be the easiest of all items to process. The website needs to better identify how long a gift car will take to be received--it is intended as a gift and may have a special deadline.
It should also be trackable. I did receive the card two days later. It was in a regular letter-sized envelope, which could have been mailed just as it was, and it would probably have arrived within 2-3 days. Instead, someone put the whole envelope in a priority mail envelope, which would have neccesitated a special trip to the post office (at a cost of $5.35 in postage).
I'd like to send gift cards in the future, but Jerry's needs to look at the process to make it more efficient.

"Beware when ordering from Jerry's Artarama if your item needs to be carefully packed because that will not happen here. My last three orders from Jerry's Artarama had damaged items because items have no protection and heavy items are packed in oversize boxes with smaller fragile items. If you don't want to spend your time contacting customer service and repacking and shipping returns I would suggest another supplier for art materials. I have contacted customer service twice recently concerning damaged items due to poor packing but nothing has changed.

"While your prices may be good, I'm beginning to think it still may not be worth it. With regard to my last order, the long shopping list I had compiled disappeared from my shopping cart - for starters. After I reentered the order, your system did not apply the discount to my purchase and the information about the discount(s) that were available was misleading. Finally, the supervisor from customer service did not call back as I requested.
This process was just way to painful."
