Surprisingly, they were quick at responding to my emails, and despite the 21 day waiting period required by USPS for lost items, JetPens sent me a replacement package as a courtesy, since I was a returning customer. "I was hooked after my first order with JetPens. Excellent selection, pricing, and service. My second order went as flawlessly as the first. But as the saying goes--third time's a charm and USPS delivered a package that had been mechanically violated and contained only 1/3 of my order. The remaining fragments were all neatly tucked inside a plastic bag with a printed disclaimer that began "We care, but ship happens..."
I really don’t understand how other reviewer’s on this site can possibly rate their service as unsatisfactory. I found it above and beyond most other sites that I frequent. I was immediately contacted by a real-person after sending a simple two-line note to them using their “Contact Us” page. Try getting hold of real person with PayPal or Amazon or E-Bay (it won’t happen easily). Two more, very apologetic e-mails later and all of the missing pieces to my original order were shipped out to me again--no questions asked, no postage due. If you read through most of the other comments, you’ll find that they too rate JetPens highly on selection, pricing, and customer service."
"Great selection of pens, rotten customer service. If you want to ask a question or have a problem, you can't e-mail them unless you have or open an account! Click on "contact us" and you have to sign into an account. Makes no sense to me....what if you're a new customer wanting information?
Want to call them? You have to search out their phone number somewhere else on the web. And when you call, you have to leave a message and odds are they won't call you back.
As I said, they have a marvelous selection but they care very little about their customers."

A lot of reviews mention fast shipping, but my order placed on 3/2/2012 has yet to arrive. The local post office showed that jetpens had messed up my shipping information when they put in the order.
It's now 19 days later.
So 5 days ago, I first contacted customer service. My shipment is still missing, and customer service did respond, eventually. Between the one email they manage to squeak out every day, they informed me that in the time it took to respond to my query and my confirmation of my (still) correct shipping information, one of the items I ordered went out of stock...
I have no idea what is going on there, but this is absolutely ridiculous. If they're only sending out one email a day, does it mean they're so busy they can only get back to them at that rate? Or does it mean that they get so few they only do customer service work once a day? Or of course they're getting so many good reviews and occupying a unique market niche that they're getting lazy.
Any way you cut it this experience has been absolutely absurd.

"JetPens is wonderful. They cater for everything practical towards the love of writing, even for everyday matters. I'm only sad when they don't stock a brand I'm interested in, because I would prefer to order it from them.
Compared to other online resellers of fine writing instruments, they recognise that what is best is not necessarily the most expensive or elaborate model in a brands line. The community is good, with helpful reviews, and there are high quality non-stock photos of every product, it's just a breeze to find and evaluate what you need.
The service is great - I've needed to combine separate orders etc previously, and they've made it so easy, I wasn't worried for long. JP is great! "
