"I received the item only a few days later in a box large enuf to fit then lens it goes on and the camera, but only one filter inside and lots of bubble wrap. Not the anti static wrap kind.
As soon as I took it out of the nice little clear plastic bag, not the anti static kind, I inspected it. Great shape.  So pulled out a flashlite. Ah ha there it is. just everybody has been complaining of, referring to these new style filters. So many years ago. United States lost a space navy ship on the ground that exploded with the men inside during a training exercise practice session. Aw man. Tears galore. Hurt pain
. Anger. What happened? Well after much effort it was determined that when the new material early 1960s (plastic)(Not the anti static kind) they had covering the rocket ship was removed the ship skin built up a hi voltage skin that resulted from the separation of 2 non conducting materials. Up to 5 thousand volts from unwinding a roll of tape,
So anti static plastic or Styrofoam too now has a conductor mixed in with the material so it conducts electron flow. So the filter is good genuine and just like reviews it has dust all over the place. Can't hardly see it without a flash lite but it is there. People say these filters attract dust like a magnet. So me knowing that hi voltage attracts dust (ionic breeze air cleaner works on the same theory) and knowing static rlectricity is a hi voltage build up and knowing separating two non conductors such as a piece of round glass hd3 filter insulator from another insulator such as the nice little static plastic bag it was shipped in or the nice little insulating Styrofoam.white .they originally ship out from hoya packed in the wrong material. I says to myself I think I'll try one of these filters if I can find a bargain on one. Thanks keh for the bgn deal on the hoya filter. It has been setting on the metal electric box allowing any static buildup to slowly discharge. I don't want to touch the glass with tin foil but if i did it would discharge any voltage faster. Plus the screw threaded part has a black paint that is likely an insulator too. Eventually it'll discharge all of the static electric build up and I am still waiting in the.lens to ship great deal but the lens never did ship. So I have the filter anyway. Once discharged by sitting on a electric ground bare metal outlet box since I received It I shall be sure to place it in an ANTI STATIC BAG. Not the nice little bag it came in. Didn't know this.? Don't feel bad. I didn't know it either NASA didn't know either and men died as the result of not knowing resulted in a spark in an oxygen rich environment . Ka boom.men burned to a crysp.cryin shame.So I was blessed to learn this from a NASA training film presented by a union telegraph company workers employees at the same company of the United States way back when 100 words per.mimute was hi speed data.
So anyway. Hoya didn't know either. I didn't tell them yet. But you know now.
