"I have the Garrett Ace 250. It took me about 40 hours to become proficient, and by cross referencing the modes I'm more able to determine what's in the ground. Of course, after I bought a pin-pointer I became very adept at finding more treasures, more accurately and much faster than without it. I would definitely recommend buying a pin-pointer if you plan to be good at the hunt. What I did not like was the cheap little digging tool that came with my detector. It didn't work at all for treasure deeper than 1 or 2 inches in this hard New Mexico dirt. I had to upgrade to a much sturdier tool. I have been delighted with my purchase and plan to buy more attachments (coils) for different types of hunting. Didn't know if I would like this type of entertainment but have found metal detecting to be a fulfilling and rewarding thing to do in my retirement days. However, metal detecting isn't just for the elderly. I wish I would have picked up a metal detector a long time ago. Thanks, Kellyco!"
"I bought the garret 350. I am new to this. Kellyco was very good to deal with. I would buy from them again. I have recovered many coins and one silver ring in 4 outings. The ring was 5 inches deep. Mine was bundled with a pointer, ear phones, & some other stuff. While the pointer works ok, it is cheap. I don't use the earphones. I am happy with the garret but I now wish I bought the AT Pro. My advice, buy the best unit you can afford, you will get hooked."
