However, the site said free shipping for all detectors over $100, this detector was reduced in price from $125 to $99 and change and so they charged shipping which eliminated much of the savings, even though additional items brought total bill to well over $100. I guess they were right, but it seemed like bait-and-switch to me. Since I called their customer service line they sent me a credit for $10 which I applied when I made the order, so I almost got the full discount anyway. "

I have really enjoyed my new Garret Pro Pointer. It really works GREAT to find smaller items in black soil. I have already used it to find some great items on an old plantation near Charleston. These findings include over a dozen pewter, brass, and double/treble gilt English flat buttons with manufacturer’s and quality markings, minnie and round balls including a Rebel Whistler, an 1859 Indian Head cent, 1800’s thick headed plow hoes, copper broach with attached loop, bass rivet, 1887 Seated Liberty Dime, 1894 Barber Quarter, blacksmith manufactured nails/bolts/horse shoes, and other items. The owner/developer I am working with has been very impressed with these archeological recoveries from both the Colonial and Civil War eras. He plans to display these historical items in the waterfront clubhouse to help link the current generation and property development with the past generations. It is wonderful to know that these items will not be cataloged away but will be displayed as a way to honor past generations grit, perseverance, sacrifices, hard work, innovations, and injustices while building the foundation for the freedoms we all enjoy today."
