"In the 1970's I purchased a "Compass" metal detector. It worked, and I still have it (untouched for 30+ years). Recently, I began watching a TV show called "Diggers", I believe, and I made an effort to see which metal detector the two gentlemen used at various localities in the US. I finally recognized "Garrett" as the brand, and purchased the "AT PRO", and the unbelievably great "Pro-Pointer". I tested them out in the backyard of my house (purchased new in 1940 by my parents) located in San Jose, CA. They performed as advertised, and I'm looking at local possibilities to do serious work. Lastly, I will never dig on a property without first obtaining an owner's or local government, permit authorization.
