The pre-assembled are garbage.

"The pre-assembled kitchen cabinets are utter garbage compared to the RTA cabinets. The quality is just not there. Staples that are too short. Parts falling off.

Compare it to the RTA cabinets. The RTA cabinets are screwed most places. The corner bracing is solid wood compared to plywood that is crumbling.
The drawer slides are different as is the hardware.

Trying to get damages repaired was a nightmare.

"Purchased over $6,000 of kitchen cabinets, had a couple that were damaged in shipping. Sent them pictures of damaged cabinets and Customer service replaced damaged items no questions asked, shipped free, and no return required.
Doesn't get any better than that! Thank you!

Up Front Billing with no inventory in stock

"I placed a $1800 order for cabinets. I was told the cabinets were not in stock and that shipment would not happen for about 10 more weeks, and would I like a different cabinet style. 4 weeks after I placed the order, I received my credit card statement and discovered that I had been billed for the entire order on the day after I placed the order.

I logged a dispute with the credit card company because there is a Federal Trade Commission Law that prohibits a merchant from billing you if they are not able to ship your merchandise within 30 days. This company is in clear violation of FTC law.

Because I lodged a dispute with my credit card company, Kitchen Cabinet Kings CANCELED my order, stating that it was company policy to bill the customer at the time the order was placed, even though they could not ship the order within the parameters of the federal law.

They issued a refund and told me to check back later to see if they have inventory at a later date.

In this day of computer controlled inventory, Their web site should indicate if inventory is available and ready for shipment; And if not, then the customer should be informed at the time they place an order that the item is not available, when inventory is expected to be ready for shipment, and tell you that you will be billed immediately even if they can not ship what you ordered.

If you place an online order with big box stores like Lowes and Home Depot, they do not charge your credit card until the item is delivered or picked up at their store. Big box stores comply with the Federal Trade Commission Law. Kitchen Cabinet Kings is not compliant with FTC law.

DO NOT PLACE AN ORDER ONLINE. CALL THEM FIRST TO DETERMINE IF THE ITEMS YOU WANT ARE READY FOR IMMEDIATE SHIPMENT. OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE BILLED FOR MERCHANDISE THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE IN STOCK.

And FYI: I was not in a hurry for delivery, was willing to wait the 10 weeks for delivery; however I am not willing to pay for something 10 weeks ahead of time. Can you imagine placing a factory order for a new car, and be expected to pay in full for the car at the time you place the order, even though it will be 2 months before the car is delivered? Absolutely ridiculous and unlawful company billing policy.

Customer service was good, and I received prompt replies to my emails with their CSR.

It is unfortunate Kitchen Cabinet Kings chose to cancel my order, rather than to just issue a refund and then re-bill me when the back ordered cabinets were available for shipment. They should have placed my order in a back order status and billed me when the cabinets were eventually ready for shipment. Charging customers for merchandise you can't deliver is a very bad way to run a business.
