"I ordered last week, so maybe my item is coming.. I asked them the tracking number and I never got it. They never answer the phone and there is a message saying they have phone problems. I communicated with them by email and got some apologies for the phone problems that should be fixed shortly... They rarely answer the emails. Really bad service. I should have read the reviews before ordering, I have the impression this is going to go to a credit card dispute and the worst I still nedd what I ordered... Do not buy from them.
story part 2:
After 2 weeks, I finally received my order, but never got any tracking number, neither the phone was working. One of the item was not the one I ordered... I could not beleived it, they had sent me the wrong brand. I finally have been able to get in touch with a very nice lady called Sandra and she has been helpful and efficient. One week after that, so 3 weeks after I first placed my order, I received the right brand and sent the other back to them. I have to be honest and tell that it has been a lot of troubles for me and it took really long in time and asked a lot of energy from me. Even for the second shipment, I never received the tracking number and have been told Canada Post would contact me! I called Canada Post, and they told me that the tracking number has to be given by the merchant!!So KitchenNiche seemed to me pretty disorganized. No phone, long time before answering contact form from website and long delays and bad order processing line. I finally got what I wanted, they refunded the shipping fees back to me to apoligize. I thought I would receive my order in 3 days and it took 3 weeks, so I could not do my cooking projects while I had time to do them.
Yesterday, I received an email from the company as a consequence of the first part this review. It seems they really want to improve themselves and also seem to care about their clients. They offered me a 25% discount to have better memories of my experience. I whsih they will continue to try to improve themselves and I will wait a little, will let them time to do their homework an I will wait for a couple good reviews before giving them a try again, but, it looks like they're on the right way."
"Horrible customer service. paid for fast delivery, order April 25th it is May 14th.. still haven't rec'd goods.... NEVER, NEVER, NEVER answer phone, only answered one of many emails, but still have not rec'd what I ordered! DONT ORDER FROM KITCHENNICHE.CA
"
"I only have positive things to say about my experience with Kitchenniche.ca.
After reading the reviews I was a little hesitant about placing an order. However, they had the Le Creuset pan I wanted at a great price. I emailed Kitchenniche twice and my emails were answered promptly.
My order arrived and I'm happy. "
"I have to say with reading a few of these reviews prior to placing an order I was a lil' apprehensive however, for the few good reviews I did read ... I thought I would I try my luck, glad I did! Although, the few claiming that they have possibly had a bad experience mine wasn't so. I highly applaude the customer service I have received ... I placed an order on a Monday and received my order within the week. One item was back ordered as it was sold out but I received wonderful customer service keeping me up-to-date and giving me the option to cancel that item, get a refund or, wait.
I leave my opinion cause word of mouth will either help you or hurt you in a business and hoping this helps. Kitchen Niche has given me nothing but the very best customer service and I greatly appreciate it! I will continue shopping thru Kitchen Niche and be sure to recommend them to family and friends. "
"These guys seem to lie through their teeth or think their customers are pretty stupid. I ordered an item from them and since their website indicated that it was in stock, I figured it would ship in time to arrive by Christmas (I ordered it 10 days before Christmas) or at the very least a bit after. Their website states that in stock items ship in 1-2 days afterall.
I heard nothing from then and so I emailed them on teh 20th to find out if the order had shipped yet and received no reply. I emailed on the 22nd threatening to start a Paypal dispute ... and that's when I finally received a call. They told me they've been super busy these past few days and that the item I wanted was out of stock. They claimed they emailed me that information immediately after I ordered. Since they can't even be bothered to reply back to my email until I threaten them with Paypal action, I seriously doubt they emailed me about the item. She said that they were due in at the end of the month but if I wanted to cancel my order, they would immediately refund my money (their words, not mine .... "immediately") I emailed back that same morning and told them to cancel my order. That was Dec 22nd.
Today, January 3, I had still not received a refund. So I emailed them telling them I was starting a dispute on Paypal since they had not immediately refunded my order. She wrote back immediately telling me my refund had been processed before the new year and that Paypal should be informing me of such occurrence before the end of the day. Bing ... one minute later, Paypal informed me of the refund ... processed ONE MINUTE ago. When I emailed her back, she claimed she sent the refund notice to her "accounting department" and that they have to process it first before Paypal can refund ... and that she has no idea when the money would show up in my Paypal account. Umm... how much is it a coincidence that it shows up one minute after I threaten Paypal action against her?
Avoid these guys. They're amateurs at best. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they're more incompentent than dishonest."
"I just came across some bad reviews from Kitchenniche.ca and was very surprised. I ordered with them a couple times and never had any problems. Their customer service is very friendly and knowledgeable about their items. I'm a happy customer and will be shopping here in the future!"
"TERRIBLE! Don't buy from these people! Their ad read "7.2 diameter large dough press." They FINALLY changed that after my experience. This company claimed to be the only to sell the largest empanada maker at 7". What I got is the regular 6" sold for about $5.99 on most other sites. Some sell a set of three different sizes for $9.99. I was charged $10.00 for one and it is SO cheaply made that it looks like it came from the one dollar store. They wrote me to "tape it up and return the package by writing 'return to sender' on the package (ripping off our postal service)."
UPDATE: November 16, 2009
I asked for a refund several times but it took MANY e-mails back-n-forth, wasted hours (not worth it), and then WEEKS for the $15 to finally hit my account. They told me to keep the plastic piece "as a gift" but I threw it out. It didn't even close properly... They kept writing me that the accounting dept put the refund through, but they hadn't. It was EASY to verify on my end that the bank had not received any credit.
I hoped this issue was closed but now I've already gotten two e-mails in one day asking me to remove this review and they accused me of writing it AFTER the refund! This is NOT true. I wrote this review LONG before any credit. I hope I don't hear from them again.
I would be very suspicious of that ONE review who claims the bad ones aren't valid and that they'll buy again! I believe maybe someone in the company wrote it?
:-( Two thumbs down on this one."
"This supplier has a very very poor Customer Service. First it took us 4 weeks to get our order. They would not respond to any of my e-mails or phone calls. They stated on their web site that they inspect every item before shipping to customer which we found this to be untrue. We ordered 2 soup tureens with ladles and the one tureen was egg shaped bad and the other one has a chip on the edge of the bowl that was about to come off which was caused when it was made and the one ladle was broke when it arrived. I asked for a new ladle but again no response. We decided we were going to return the items but the cheapest cost to return them was $40. I is very obvious these people are selling 2nds and not first line items. I could never recommend this supplier to anyone. very dissatisfied customer to say the least."
"In March of 2007 I ordered an item which appeared to be in stock. Nineteen days later, I received a notice that the item was shipping. This is the longest I have ever waited for an internet purchase to ship, except for those cases where the vendor has contacted me and advised of a delay.
I sent an email indicating that I was not pleased, and asking for an explanation. I never received a reponse.
Two weeks later, I still had not received the item, and emailed them again, asking them to investigate. At the same time, I opened up a Paypal dispute, as it had now been more than a month since I had placed the order, and they had not yet responded to my email.
Four days later, they responded by providing a tracking number through Paypal. The tracking number showed that when they had "shipped" the order, two weeks after the date of purchase, they had simply entered the details electronically. The item wasn't received by the post office for another three weeks on top of that (after I entered a Paypal dispute).
In the end, the item took seven weeks to arrive, required a Paypal dispute, and I never received a response to any of my emails.
As of January 12, 2008, the Better Business Bureau of Lower Mainland BC has a record on their website for "Kitchen Niche" of Kelowna, BC. The record is categorized as unsatisfactory, and lists two unresolved complaints, and three complaints to which the the company has not responded."
