Avoid this website!!!

"Ordered a knife two weeks ago and come to find out it was out of stock. So I changed my order and the guy named Fred said it would ship next week. That was last week. I called today to follow up and he was extremely rude but said it shipped yesterday. I called back for the tracking number and the guy was again rude and didn't provide me with the tracking number. He explained that it hadn't shipped. So he lied. Then he asked if I wanted to keep the order or cancel it. I said cancel it and he proceeded get angry and then hung up on me. I called him back to say I wasn't finished talking. I asked for a refund and Fred said he never charged my card. I called my bank to see what recourse I had and they said that Fred had canceled the order two days ago and the refund was in process. This guy is a ****, a liar, deceiving, and is fraudulent. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS WEBSITE!!!"

Can I give LESS THAN 1 star!!

"Ordered a knife that the website said was in stock. Never got a confirmation email or knife. After 3 weeks called about my order. Man was beyond rude. Claimed they no longer sold that brand of knife. I patiently explained that they did 3 weeks ago and it was listed as in stock. He then argued that the website was a "catalog" and did not list what was actually for sale or available! WTF!! He then repeatedly told me that I was wrong about not getting a confirmation email that I would have received several. Funny I work for the federal govt and ALWAYS manage to get all of my other emails. He then suggested I cancel my order?! If the knife is not being sold any longer why would they have even registered my order? I stated ok I would cancel my order. Silence on his end. Finally I asked don't you want to know who I am to cancel it?? He snapped that he "knew who I was". Guess he is psychic given he never got my name, credit card # etc and the phone I was using was a work number. He was beyond the pale rude and obnoxious. I will never order another product from this company again. "

Excellent!

"Placed my order on a Monday morning, received an automated email acknowledging my order. Received a second email Wednesday stating that my order was scheduled to ship Friday. No email confirming shipment on Friday but the order did arrive the following Monday by Priority Mail. Over a certain price point (one that's pretty easy to hit buying knives these days), they ship Priority Mail.
Knife Outlet doesn't seem to have a very high profile on the internet but they have been around a while. There are several not so happy reviews here but suspecting their experiences are more the exception than the norm or the company just wouldn't still be in business. In my own experience, they did fine, actually better than most other sources, and had the best price on the item. Didn't have any interaction with customer service, no need for it. What's not to like?

Not friendly.

"Old inventory on site. Will get rude if you ask about it as many others have said. I think they leave it on there to attract clicks. Instantly called me a liar, as if he had this conversation many times before. Glad I called before placing first order. Not getting my money"

Listed products to sell without having it in stock.

"Purchase a knife online. Requested twice for confirmation on shipping via email. Never received a response. Finally Called and was told it was not in stock by seller. Asked why seller would do this and not disclose that it was not in stock? His reply, "I just don't do that". You don't know why anyone do business that way. Seller also had a terrible attitude when asked for basic purchase information. I don't recommend anyone using this vendor due to dishonest business practices. "

Cancel order and no refund

"I'm bought "G. Sakai 11606 Money Clip Knife" X2 about 129$ and complete payment one day later they cancel my order and not respond for refund my money back. Bad online seller I ever see before. Don't buy from this website. Very poor responsibility."

Take your money elsewhere

"I placed an order for an item that was listed in stock, and despite my payment being accepted, I received no order confirmation or any other communication from Knife Outlet. The charge remained on my checking account for a week or so before disappearing, so I assumed the order had been (again, no communication whatsoever from the company) and ordered the product from another website.

Fast forward two weeks and I see the charge on my checking account again! I emailed Knife Outlet requesting that the order be cancelled and received no response. A week or so later (roughly a month after the initial order) the item arrives at my door step. Terrible communication, slow service, and apparently the people running the company couldn't care less. Take your money to a knife retailer who actually cares -- there are plenty out there.

Cancel Order

"I placed an order for a knife that they did not have in stock but the website does not indicate that its not in stock. I later received an email that stated order awaits product from manufacture. I emailed them and ask why was the knife was listed as in stock (or not showing out of stock) and if it was not in stock why was my credit card billed? I did not get a response so I emailed them again. My response then was (its up to the manufacturer to make more)...That was all I got for a response. I will not bore anyone with the short and non caring replies I received to more emails I sent knifeoutlet.com.
They were all from a person named Fred. I was able to cancel my order and get it straight with them but not an easy process at all. This company obviously does not care whether you give them your business or not. I suggest buying from another company. The prices are lower most likely due to the fact they do not stock inventory and they order from the manufacturer as they receive customer orders. I am a business owner and very rarely do reviews for businesses I purchase from unless its really great or horrible service. This definitely was horrible.

Had to cancel my order

"Placed an order for two knives with them. Never received any confirmation, but did see the order on their website. The status said "Completed". Emailed them several days later and got no response. Waited several more days, still nothing. Called them, spoke with customer service and was assured that both knives were going to be shipped in two days. Three days have passed, still no confirmation and order status still says "Completed" Canceled the order through their website. Now I'm wondering if they will honor the cancellation or ignore it. The sad part is that it was supposed to arrive in time for father's day as I placed the order well in advance. There was no indication that the knifes were back-ordered when I placed an order. If they will still ship these knives I will contact my credit card company and dispute the charge. I do not intent to ever do business with Knife Outlet again."

Knife never arrived, "nothing I can do" is all the help the owner is willing to offer.

"Ordered a knife for $169. No doubt the problem lies entirely with the post-office, I don't doubt that part. The tracking system said "delivered" I do a good amount of mail orders, including from MassDropp and others who send tracking notifications, so I'm used to getting a "delivered" message sometimes a day before the product is actually delivered. In this case I waited a couple of days, and no knife. The tracking message of course invited me to get in touch if I had any "questions", so I contacted the vendor and asked if I get any help. The response I received was there's nothing they could do. When I responded that I was surprised that was it, nothing more, I said it was the worst customer service I ever had from a mail order company. The owner sent me a fairly hysterical response about how I wanted him to lose the knife and the money and ... brought up the possibility I might charge back the credit card (not a bad idea, actually, though I didn't think of it). I said no, I wanted to know what kind of mailer it was sent it, "what it looked like", and what the return address said in order that I might file a missing package complaint/notice with the post office. That's where he said I had exactly the same info he did on the tracking notice. The tracking notice does NOT list the return address or what kind of box or mailer. I think this guy just doesn't like his customers. Certainly, he doesn't care what happens once he deposits their money."

Worst Online retail Experience ever!!!

"I ordered a $250 knife on June 12th and sent a follow up on June 16th asking for a tracking number. I received no emails back. Not one. I went to my PO box twice a week hoping to receive what I ordered and nothing. I finally called July 13th since it was a month since I ordered and Ruth stated on the phone that they sent an email out to me stating that the product was discontinued and when I asked them to forward me a copy she said "I aint sending anything" That is first off a lie and second completely rude. Not even an apology for what happened. I told them that they still had it listed on their website and she said "then I'll tell them to take it off" What would've happened had I not called??!! The absolute worst online retail experience I have experienced. "

"SUPER HAPPY AND SATISFIED! i just got into the whole knife market because i started EDC and putting together a survival kit just in case and all. great hobby in my opinion.

well my dream EDC knife the Buck Lochsa was in my sights and i found it to be well priced here in Knife Outlet.

they have a great selection of knives. they processed shipped and packaged my baby very well. i am a small business owner myself and i believe he has a great niche, because he has the best prices around and i did look around and overall the transaction was very smooth.

bottom line, do your research on the knife that you want all over the net, at different shops and then buy it at knife outlet if they have it.

i plan to buy a survival knife and as soon as i make up my mind i will look for it here at Knife Outlet.

don't get discouraged to buy from the knife outlet by all the customer service negative reviews placed by all those cry babies about customer service or website typos or such.

"I have placed many orders with this company and have only had one small problem. Any company can make a mistake so I only judge them on how they react and the measures they take to make it right. In my case it was handled in a professional manner and made right shortly thereafter. Their prices are good the items are always packaged well."

"A black hole where you throw money in and hope something comes out. I challenge you to call or email the company before ordering. Busy signal 24/7 on phone and no reply to email.
Been 2 weeks and no knife yet, along with no status update or word at all!
The only fast action they did was process my credit card same day.
Better business bureau is my next stop and contacting Visa.
I support small business, however I expect if they can process my credit card same day, they should be able to update me within 2 weeks.

"I also, considering that I am an experienced web shopper, should have checked them out closer...Sounds like the outfit has not changed much. First, I ordered one of the stag handle Colt Damascus Bowie Knives. About a week later, I received an email regarding the item I ordered being "Not currently available from the manufacturer" and was advised that if it was still not available, then I would receive a refund as the credit card authorization would expire. One other problem I had was that the webpage does not show any back order, unavailability or out-of-stock status on the knife. Other companies (Sportmans Guide, Cold Steel Factory, Kershaw, Kenneshaw, SMKW, et al.) show if items are out-of-stock or back ordered. It is almost like they have no idea what is in their inventory. I guess I will see if I receive it."
