"The four star rating is an average for doing business with Ky Gun Co twice or perhaps I should say TRYING to do business with them twice. Two months ago I found a good gun at a good price on their website so I visited their retail store to purchase it. A couple of weeks ago I was looking for a specific rifle listed on their website as out of stock, so I signed up to be notified when it became available. Thursday morning (8/2/12) I got their email telling me they had four available so I immediately went to the store to buy one. When I got there they didn't have any. I asked if they could have sold out and the man assured me that they had not sold any of that gun lately and had not had any to sell. I asked why they sent me an email saysing they had four and the man checked their computer. Their computer agreed with his recollection: they had had nine some time ago and had sold all nine. They had not sold, received or even ordered any since then. They checked the computer record for the warehouse (which is NOT their warehouse but just the online ordering system of the dealer they buy from!). The computer said their supplier had ONE in his warehouse but that "one" disappeared from the computer - apparently sold to some other gun shop - while we were looking for it. Despite the email claiming they had four available they actually didn't have any and could not even order one for me. After I got home I checked their website again and found that the website still claimed the gun was available although now the website says it is available only at the warehouse even though we had checked the computer and it said their distributor didn't have any. Ky Gun Co has good guns at good prices but as several others have commented their real time inventory system isn't accurate. One thing that bothers me is that their website gives the impression that the "Warehouse" is their warehouse but it is actually just their distributor's online inventory. You cannot rely on anything they list as being available without checking further.
First thing Friday morning, Patrick (the owner) called me to apologize for the mix-up. He had found a supplier who had two available and he offered to order one and hold it for me. My rifle should be in next week. While I am still unhappy about the email mix-up, at least they did make a good effort to fix the problem."
