"I have ordered twice from LA Police Gear after reading several good things online, and having a few of my buddies say their prices are quite good. Overall I am happy with the products that I received, but to me that is more of a reflection on 5.11 or Maxpedition, not on LA Police Gear. I am also happy with the prices that I have paid, as they are no more expensive than the other places that I have ordered similar items. I am however not impressed with their shipping systems or their customer service.

I ordered several 5.11 items that all qualified for promo items, including free shipping. One of the items were on backorder, so I knowingly placed an order knowing that only half would be sent out. I should say that I order a LOT of things online, and do very little shopping in the stores, so I have a reasonably good expectation of what is possible & probably in terms of shipping times, turn around, etc. I was not prepared for how long my items would take to reach me. I knew that the free shipping was the slowest form of shipping, which it always is, but I ordered on a Friday, and the goods didn't arrive until the following Monday (10 days later). If you are like me, when you order this type of gear, you don't want to wait 10 days to get your items. I called after receiving the first half of my order to see if anything could be done to expedite the second half, including paying for the extra cost myself, and the response I got was almost argumentative from the CSR. Finally she got the ok to charge me for the extra shipping, and we got off the phone. About a half an hour later, I got an email saying that my orders shipping method had been changed, but after close examination, it was the order that I had just placed 2 days ago, not the second half of my order from 11 days ago. I call in again, and this CSR also sounds like I was interrupting her day, and a nuisance. She fixes it, but in doing so, she switches my other item back to ordinary shipping (snail mail). This would be fine, but instead of going out that day like it should have (and was ready to), it gets delayed until the next night. When waiting 10 days for an item to arrive, even a days delay is a big deal.

Finally get my second half of my order, and when I pull the 5.11 shoes out, they appeared to have been worn, with a couple slight scuffs. I am OK with that, because in a week my shoes look like that anyway. It is just the fact that I had to wait for less than new shoes. On top of all of this, my promotional item was not shipped as it was supposed to be. So once again I have to call in. To save writing, I will just say that they are sending my promo item under quicker shipping, but I am not encouraged to want to order from them again. All things considered, their products are carried elsehwere, for about the same price or slightly cheaper, with better shipping options. Amazon for instance is free or very affordable in comparison if you are not a PRIME member. Although I love their product and would like to use them again, I do not know if I will, or if I will reccomend any of my friends to use them, not only due to the long wait, delayed shipping times (often 2 business days after order is placed), and the feeling that I got from customer service that my experience wasn't very important to them.

The service, honesty of products, quality, and policies are great. I have used their products in field use as USMC infantry and civilian law enforcement gear as a police officer, everything from their 3-day assault packs, combat packs, riggers belts, and boots. I can personally attest to their quality, durability, and prices. I always go to LAPolicegear.com first whenever I need gear. Never had a problem with shippin whether ground service or overnight. "

"tried them recently and since then have ordered from them 2 more times. I like the promo items that come with the boots and i always add some some stuff or sale items to max. the free shipping. I didn't get my free promo items this last time but with 2 e-mails i was able to resolve the mistake. customer service was good and courteous. They tried to resolve the problem right away even if it took twice to get it done. will con't to buy from them in the future. pricing was good."
