I've seen on a few occasions a child cries and the teacher is telling him you're ok from a distance. I'd like to feel confident that when my child cries, he is being comforted and being made to feel loved and cared for and that's more important for me than the curriculum."

"I think the Ms.Marianna and Ms.Jackie are outstanding. As well as Ms. Melissa, she is by far the best teacher my child has had at any/all daycares he has been to. I worry about the next class when he leaves Ms.Melissa, she genuinely cares for the kids and gives it her all each day. I worry about the next class b/c there is a teacher who literally sits in a chair in the main area the entire time, i have never seen once seen her get up, no exageration... she seems to bark orders at the kids instead of getting up and showing them how/what they need to do. Overall I think this is a wonderful daycare. I feel he is well taken care of, safe and having fun in Ms. Melissa's class."

"This was the first place my child attended since being at home with me. We had a rough start of him getting adjusted and it was particularly hard on me. The director and some of the teachers were wonderful and did everything they could to help us in this transition but some teachers, I felt, were not making an effort to ease my mind. I had to keep asking for more updates and pictures. I would have liked it to be more frequent and to come from them rather than me asking. I also would like to feel that the teachers are more empathetic to my concerns and difficulties rather than putting up with it.In general, I would like to get at least one picture a day to know what the kids are up to."

"The person giving the tour was kind knowledgeable and professional. The facility was very clean and organized. I called at 11 and they were able to provide a tour at 1 when I was available. An iPad was used to sign in and I was given a a visitors label. I asked to use the bathroom the guest one out front was occupied so they showed me the one in the back which I assume is for faculty and even that was clean. She explained check in procedures, answered questions pertaining to my son's allergies, and described what the before and after school program had to offer. I saw the classrooms sleep areas and playgrounds which my son will love. He has horrible reactions to bugs so hopefully the fake grass will keep the critters away. Before I left I was invited to bring my son back to show him the school before he started. I wish I would have found this school sooner and am looking forward to my son coming here."

"I am really excited about enrolling my kids here, unfortunately they do not have any openings for my 6month old & 2year old. If there was a waiting list I would have put my kids on it; instead I was told to keep calling back to see if they have openings. As a busy working mom, I don't really have the time and/or can become consumed with work stopping to keep calling is a little inconvenient. There should be a more efficient way of notifying interested parents of when space is available, even a small deposit to secure a spot would be ideal. Never the less I am interested & will be calling to see if there are any openings."

"We have had both of our children enrolled at the Alexandria, Virginia location of La Petite Academy at one point or another for the past 5+ years and it has been a consistently positive experience in that time. The teachers and staff are genuine, respectful, caring, considerate, flexible, open to communication and concerns, and there is very low turnover. The facilities are always clean and well maintained, inside and out. The kids are encouraged to play, to try new experiences, to feel confident in themselves, and to be considerate citizens to one another - all in a safe environment. We are thankful for our wonderful experience at this school and we always encourage our friends to consider this La Petite Academy location for the care of their children.I also choose to copy my statement from question #21:My child is currently in Ms. Dominique Abernathy's pre-k class at the Alexandria, Virginia location, #7125. This is actually our second child going through Ms. Abernathy's pre-k class and we have been pleased with both experiences. Ms. Abernathy is deeply dedicated to the success of her students and she goes above and beyond to show that she cares for their well being in regards to their physical care, emotional stability, social awareness and consideration, and of course, academics. She is consistent, patient, thoughtful, and we could not have asked for a better teacher at this stage in our children's lives. We are so thankful for Ms. Abernathy for her affection for our children, and for helping them become eager students who love to go to school, learn new things, experiment with their creativity, and set them up for success in elementary school. She is among several great assets at the Alexandria, Virginia La Petite Academy and we have been extremely fortunate to work with her."
