"My experience has been overwhelmingly positive. My daughter absolutely loves the school, her teachers, and her classmates. The staff is fantastic and extremely professional."
"In general, our child has enjoyed attending La Petite Academy since she was four months old. It has only been in the past six months that we have seen a decline in the staffing and management of the children."
"Everyone is so lovely at La Petite on Church Road! We tell everyone we know to enroll their children there. We feel so secure and comfortable leaving our son with the fantastic staff, which is a HUGE relief for first-time parents."
"My daughter loves it and I can tell how much she is learning!"
"I do wish my 1 year old could move on past the infant classroom. Due to there not being a lot of kids his age he has had to stay in the infant room and not move onto the next level. I think moving onto the next level would be better for his development.During the last teacher appreciation week, teachers were “allowed” to wear jeans one day. I would say change the dress code and allow them to wear jeans every day. The more comfortable the teachers are the happier they will be and the better they will be at doing their job. You need to be comfortable when working with children so I would love to see them be as comfortable as possible. Also, around teacher appreciate week, parents are usually asked to participate in a different theme each day. These are typically themes that I have to imagine aren’t that enjoyable for the teachers. I would suggest giving them what would really help, gift cards for supplies for their classrooms, or making the theme each day something we can do to help their classroom, like donate a book or a box of crayons etc. And there was a luncheon to be provided by the parents and not a lot of parents participated, I would say donations should be taken from any parents who want to offer this luncheon to the teachers and then it is arranged by the Directors to make sure their teachers get a complete luncheon instead of not knowing what to expect bc not a lot of parents participate. It is hard to hold on to good teachers in a daycare environment, so I think the more we can do to provide things to truly make them happen will benefit the overall teacher quality of teachers at the school."
"I have been bringing my little one to LaPetite for over a month now, and it has been a wonderful experience. I absolutely love the app and the updates provided by the teachers throughout the day, and I know that my son is being taken care of and loved."
"The director is engaging and the competitive cost versus the nearby competitors is what brought us into the school. The maxed out teacher/student ratios and the quality of care exhibited by all teachers at the school is very concerning. The teachers are not appropriately trained on handling conflict resolution among the students, and then appropriately communicating out to the parents. The food is as healthy as cheap bulk food can be, but needs to be upgraded with a focus on healthy fresh options, and not just price point. This is simply not a high-quality daycare as others in the area, but provides adequate care for the price point."
"Love the teachers here. They have been very supportive and loving even in difficult times. My daughter is a transformed person now. She has a personality of her own, lots of friends and looks forward to go to school every morning."
"Great environment that our daughter enjoys. Love the fact they offer before and after school programs"
"really great summer programs everyday"
"The director, Ashley, was so friendly and I felt welcomed when entering the facility. I would recommend this school to anyone! I just wish the location was more convenient for me."
"I am satisfied with the school but not thrilled. I think they do a lot of things really well and have room for improvement in other areas. I often find my child wondering around by herself when I come into the classroom any time of day to pick her up."
"Accreditation is often mentioned but then disregarded as too much overhead. Staffing seems to be more of an issue with this daycare than the industry standard. My children have never made it through a classroom without at least one lead teacher swap out. Curriculum development is clearly an individual teacher focus, but never well communicated out to families. Parking is a nightmare, but logistical daily operations are highly important with childcare. The facilities are rarely updated, and could use some modernization. Health issues that are ripping through daycare participants should be overly communicated. We appreciated the note home about lice, but that could have been more timely, and had a better enforcement policy, as well. Posting notes on cramped wall space is not an ideal form of communication. Similarly, all communications need to be redundant and offered in many formats. For example: a note home, a wall posting and an email. Quality of care needs to be addressed."
"Loved the director and the outside space but the open room concept feels a little chaotic. I have concerns about my child being able to focus on assigned tasks."
"I whish I could have a list of the names (with pictures) of the children that in my child class. The new teacher must speak with the parent when the child move to new class. Not only by sendings emails. That's not enough!"
