"I was suspicious after reading the reviews, but desparate--I needed a spare battery for my Nikon D7000 before my vacation, 4 days later. So I called Labelle, which is in driving distance. Their price was less than amazon.com, but it wasn't in stock. So they called their source and had them "drop ship" it to me--in two days! AND DIDN'T CHARGE FOR SHIPPING! I wondered whether this was some gimmick. JUST GOT THE BATTERY, RIGHT ON SCHEDULE, the genuine Nikon item I ordered. I'm very impressed."
"Honestly, Labelle Cameras is a great place to go to when it comes to buying photography products or anything similar. However, they'd try to rip off people. Unfortunately, I was one of them. They sold me a SD card almost 4 times the usual price. They also sold me a UV filter len twice its original price. Their no-refunds policy makes it harder but I am going to exchange the products for their super cheap lens. I don't blame them for being kind of a dirty business; they need to make some profits but that much? Just no."
"I first placed my order for Canon Rebel K2 kit on the 9th. On the 10th, I received an e-mail to call about my order. My card had already been charged for the amount. When I called, I was told the department I needed to speak to was in a meeting, and I would need to call back the next day. So, I called back again. The person I spoke with proceeded to tell me that they were phasing out all of their film cameras and no longer had any stock of the Canon Rebel K2s. He offered to sell me a Nikon d50 for the same price. He claimed it was higher quality, which I haven't really found anything to back that claim up. He didn't tell me that would not include the battery like the Canon kit did which costs $15. Well, after asking a few questions and doing a bit of quick research online (I had looked at this time camera somewhat before I decided on the Canon anyways) I decided the Nikon would be alright. I told him go ahead and send me the Nikon. To my utter shock, they still sell the exact same Canon kit for $100 more than I had placed my order for. They never took the kit off their website. The price changed the same week I placed my order. I believe what it really amounts to, is they didn't want to sell me the camera for the price they already sold it to me for. I felt duped. I should have sent it back and I regret dealing with them. I will never make another purchase with them."
"ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I ordered a camera for school that I had to haev by monday, so i order it first thing Thursday Morning and even request to have it overnighted. I get an email from them to give them a call on Friday. So I call them and they told me that the camera I ordered was not in their warehouse and that they had to get it shipped from their other warehouse. I figure they have the whole weekend maybe I will get it monday in time for class, monday comes along and i called them several times and they said they have not recieved my shipment yet. I got yelled at by my teacher for nto having my camera in class and then he assigned a project due Weds that we had to shoot two rolls of film so i HAVE to have this camera no later than tuesday and if i couldnt get it tuesday i wanted a refund and i told them that. So they told me to call abck about 10 mins prior to closing and if they didnt have it they would issue a refund. So i call and no one picks up i call several times no answer. so then the next day, i still have not gotten an email that states the tracking number which leads me to believe they have not sent it yet. So i call to followup it is 1030 and no one is answering the phones. there is no reason why they shouldnt be there. If they dont pick up all day and i dont get my camera TODAY I am reporting to the better business bureau!! Do not order wtih this company! They are absolutely HORRIBLE and all they want is your money they dont care about what you need! There is no customer service whatsoever with this business!!!"
"Terrible. I placed an order and received an email to call. I called and was told the item was not in stock. Terrible waste of my time. Stock status should be posted on their website. Or I should have been informed about the out of stock issue via email. I shouldn't have had to call. I had given them my credit card info. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM REGARDLESS OF PRICE."
"I just called LaBelle to inquire about a product and was extremely disgusted by the rudeness of the sales person! He sounded like an older gentleman (don’t know his name). Before he even informed me if the product was available I needed to tell him “where I live.” Then he told me he had the lens in metal. I asked if he also carried it in plastic. He told me “no!” I said “Oh you don’t have it in plastic?” His response was “NO! Do you want to buy it or not?” and proceed to hang up on me. I can’t believe this is how he treats his customers. I rather pay the extra $10 or $15 and make my purchase where I will be treated with respect. I’ve spoken to collogues who have all advised me they have had similar experiences at LaBelle. We will not shop there any longer. "
"Jack said $1,000.00 "Bower" 12 X 50 binoculars advertised in Newsday as closeouts 80% off, for me a real bargain at 89.99 down from 119.99 as a special discount for me. Only trouble current retail value 24.95, we'll see about their 15% restocking fee. Upon returning to the store I was given lame excuses for what occured and some nonsense about getting the wrong brand but the brand they were offering "ELITE" did not seem much different. I did get a complete refund, most people won't."
"DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! I recently bought a camera and was extremely dissatisfied. I hadn’t received any sort of confirmation and was very curious as to what my order was doing. After e-mail an e-mail was sent they informed me that my product was not in stock and that it makes take a couple weeks before it came in. I constantly tried to keep in contact and after numerous e-mails my order was finally shipped. The customer service was horrible. I asked for any confirmation or guarantee that my order will be shipped and was told in horrible English that all they could guarantee is that they will be going home tonight. After about 3 weeks after my order was supposed to come in I received it. Honestly the only problem with this seller is that they are never on time with orders. Do not buy from them if you are expecting the item anytime soon. "
"Customer service is terrible. I ordered a sigma lens on June 15th, the website said that the item was in stock. That same day, they charged my credit card before telling me that the lens had to be ordered. They told me it would arrive there in about 1 week. It's two weeks later and still no lens. I have called several times with no response and the sales rep I was supposed to contact is always "not in yet", or "outhe office today". I will never purchase from this company again. I dont know how they can stay in business with such aweful practices. I would like to see this company shut down so that no one else would have to deal with this crap."
"I ordered a Canon EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM Standard Zoom Lens. All I got in reply was an order confirmation email. After a week of waiting with no updates from them, I call them today and get a non-apologetic reply that the item is backordered and hasn't been shipped yet. I cancelled my order and ordered it with Amazon (which didn't have the lens when I had tried to order initially)"
"I ordered a Canon Powershot SD550 and a spare battery for the camera from labellecameras.com on December 14, 2005 so that there would be plenty of time for it to arrive in time for Christmas. My wife was very specific that she wanted the silver model rather than the beige model. Labellecameras.com was one of the only places I could find online that actually advertised the silver model for a decent price, and I even called them before I placed my order to ensure that they would in fact ship the silver model.
On Monday, December 19th, I called to find out if my order had shipped. The guy who answered explained that “the place was crazy” due to the holidays, and that I shouldn’t expect my order to ship out so fast. He didn’t offer to upgrade my shipping option for free even though he was obviously aware that his store was moving slowly on my order. He proceeded to try to sell me additional high-margin items like a memory card and a camera case, and that just insulted me further. At this point, it’s obvious that I won’t get my order in time for Christmas.
Fast forward to Friday, December 23rd. I get an e-mail from the vendor asking me to call them at a non-toll-free phone number. I call, and the guy explains that my order still has not been shipped because no one ever got around to calling me to verify my shipping address. Once again, he proceeded to try to sell me additional high-margin items. They finally ship my order on December 27th – after Christmas.
My order arrives on January 3, 2006, and much to my amazement, the camera is beige and the spare battery doesn’t even fit the camera. They managed to ship the wrong two items. I immediately sent them an e-mail explaining the situation, and demanding that they pay for shipping to return the order and credit my credit card for the full amount of the order including shipping. On January 4th, they send me a note saying that they’ll send me a UPS “call tag” so that I can ship the order back to them, and they won’t credit my account until they receive the items. The following week, I call them to find out where my “call tag” is, and they tell me that I’m not supposed to receive anything. They just put in a call to UPS to pick up the package. So finally, UPS picks up the package, and I get my money refunded on January 24th. I can’t believe how long this fiasco went on!
Bottom line: The customer service was absolutely awful, they took WAY too long to ship my order, and they shipped the wrong items. That’s just bad. Then they took WAY too long to get my money back to me. They dropped the ball every step of the way. Needless to say, I am extremely dissatisfied with this retailer, and have no intentions of ever buying from them again. Buyer beware!"
