I have not gotten to the bottom of the issue yet but believe that the Lptp’s power management driver may be the real culprit, rather than the battery!

The Lenovo published README notes for this Laptops model’s Power Management latest driver sfwr download details a history of 82 Power Management driver update releases; since the original 2.0 version…which seems like an extraordinarily high number.
